Justin Deschamps was born in Portland Maine, and grew up in the Boston area. As a Physics, Psychology and Spirituality student, he has been searching for truth all his life, looking to make sense of the insanity in this world. In that time, he has developed a holistic body of knowledge linking science, philosophy and spirituality into a single framework of ever-expanding understanding. 

He shares what he has with the world, becoming a teacher to some and student to others. His goal is to help himself and others become better truth seekers, and with the wisdom gained in the process, make this planet the paradise it is meant to be. He says he is happy to give back to a world and universe he received so much from.  His main form of expression is the outstanding alternative news blog, Stillness in the Storm, which he and Julian Robles created together.  Julian transitioned in 2015, and Justin has been dedicated to continuing SITS ever since.

James D. Okun, MD is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Duke University and a graduate of the prestigious Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. Doctor Okun did his Transitional Internship at Framingham Union Hospital in Framingham, Massachusetts which was the home of the ground-breaking Framingham Heart Study which helped to determine risk factors for Heart Disease. He then trained in Ophthalmology for one year at the Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. He went on to practice Family and Emergency Medicine from 1985 until 1996. He is the co-author of Erasing Scars: Herpes and Healing and of The History of New Innovations in Modern Medicine.

GREG MCFALL

As a bassist, Greg’s journey began in San Jose, where he grew up and attended SJSU, getting a B.A. in jazz bass performance. He began playing gigs around the Bay Area with pianist Alan Chang (MD, pianist for Michael Buble), vocalist Faye Carol, and veteran reedsman Don Pender. After moving to Alan’s futon near USC in 2000, they recorded their first album with Tom Jackson and Brad Ranola, forming a band called Your Future Lovers, which has recorded with Grammy-winning producer J.J. Blair (Johnny Cash, Ryan Adams, Kelly Clarkson) and Grammy-winning engineer Brian Warwick (Ludacris, Weird Al Yankovic, Michael Buble). Greg started meeting and playing with other great LA musicians and developed his skills as a sideman, playing bass and singing backup in many groups and genres. In 2014, Greg graduated with an M.M. in composition from CSULA, and has been composing music for commercials and TV as well.

Recent highlights include performances with Bridget Everett (Trainwreck, Comedy Central, Inside Amy Schumer) for her sold out shows at the El Rey Theatre and Largo, Curtis Peoples (Pierce the Veil) for his sold out Coffee Shop Arena Rock nights at Hotel Cafe, synth-pop band Cataline, and folk violinist and singer-songwriter Chris Murphy. He also wrote and produced the musical finale of the web series Wait Crimes, recently selected for two film festivals.

CATHY BYRD

Cathy Byrd is the author of the book The Boy Who Knew Too Much, which was released by Hay House on March 21, 2017. The movie rights for this remarkable story have recently been purchased by 20^th Century Fox and producer DeVon Franklin who created the movies Heaven is for Real and Miracles from Heaven. Cathy is a residential real estate broker and mother of two young children who never had aspirations of becoming a writer until her two-year-old son began sharing memories of being a baseball player in the 1920s and ‘30s. What makes this story even more fascinating is that Byrd’s son Christian Haupt has been touted by the international media as being a baseball prodigy since the age of two when he was discovered on YouTube by Adam Sandler for a baseball-playing cameo role in the movie That’s My Boy.

Shortly after his fourth birthday, Christian became the youngest person to ever throw a ceremonial first pitch at a Major League baseball game and his YouTube baseball videos have now been viewed by more than 17 million people. Christian’s case was studied by Dr. Jim Tucker from the University of Virginia Medical School department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences. Dr. Tucker has continued the research on children’s past-life memories that was originally started by Dr. Ian Stevenson in 1967. The University of Virginia now has over 2,500 cases of children who remember past lives on file.

A Southern California native, Cathy received her B.A. from UCLA and her M.B.A. from Pepperdine University. The most likely place to find Cathy in her free time is at a youth baseball field.

CHRISTIAN HAUPT

Founded New Consciousness Review in 2006, and since 2009 has been hosting NCR Radio, a weekly radio show interviewing authors and filmmakers. She co-founded Luminary Voices, a transformational speakers’ bureau and the conscious podcast platform, NCMedianet.com. For seven years after returning to the US from England, she published New Connexion, a body mind spirit magazine for the Pacific Northwest. Miriam is a long-time student of energy medicine and is a Reiki Master. Prior to embarking on the spiritual path, Miriam worked in hospital administration and industrial research funding, becoming VP of Finance and Administration of a multinational software company.

After moving to the UK, she was the Executive Director of a Public Health quango, and later General Manager of a medical manpower agency. A native of Venezuela and citizen of the world, Miriam speaks four languages and has lived on four continents. She has a BA in Romance Languages and Psychology from Boston University, and an MA in Psychology from the University of Virginia. I am a civically-impassioned public policy and public affairs practitioner and political strategist and analyst that aspires to be a lobbyist, work on political campaigns, work for legislators and ultimately run for office myself.

I am a 25 years old American citizen. I was born and raised in the Castro district of San Francisco, California, epicenter for the LGBT civil rights movement. From a very young age, I was exposed to a vastly diverse society. I began my academic career at a bilingual public elementary school called Alvarado and to this day, am completely fluent in Spanish. I was in part raised by a Peruvian babysitter who taught me Spanish at a very young age and enabled me to be the bilingual and multicultural individual I am today.

I developed an interest in law, government and politics during high school after seeing The West Wing, Aaron Sorkin’s television series. I excelled in my civics course that year, winning an honors award, and from then on I was completely hooked on public service. I went on to college and graduated from Whittier College in Southern California with a BA in both Political Science and Spanish, after completing my final semester abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

After college, I moved to Washington D.C. to complete an internship with the International Conservation Caucus Foundation and from then I moved to Central New York and matriculated into the Public Diplomacy program at Syracuse University, which will earn me a MS in Public Relations and a MA in International Relations upon graduating in May of 2017.

Over the past summer, I completed a communications internship with the Human Rights Watch in Brussels, Belgium. I have served as a Legislative & Public Policy Intern for U.S. Senator of DC Paul Strauss. I am currently working as a lobbyist for Mintwood Strategies. I aspire to be a full time lobbyist, work on political campaigns and ultimately run for office as a liberal progressive myself.

Sandra Goodman PhD, Co-founder and Editor of Positive Health PH Online, trained as a Molecular Biology scientist in Agricultural Biotechnology in Canada and the USA. Sandra was born and grew up in Montreal, Canada, a highly cosmopolitan city in Quebec, subject to the political tensions of the Canadian French and English divide. In addition to focusing upon her academic studies in the arts and sciences, Sandra was also a talented pianist and athlete, particularly in gymnastics. Having qualified as a Red Cross swimming instructor and Royal Lifesaving Society lifeguard, she greatly enjoyed teaching young adults and children to swim and overcome their fear of the water.

Sandra graduated with her PhD in Molecular Biology from McGill University with her Thesis: Expression of host genes in soybean root nodules, research attempting to identify nitrogen fixation genes in a legume, with an ultimate goal of being able to transfer such genes to non-legumes and reduce the requirement for fertilizer. Dr Goodman worked for a Multi-National Corporation in the USA as a Biotechnology Scientist until the mid-1980s, eventually traveling and settling in the UK focusing upon health issues. Author of 4 books regarding the role of Nutrition in empowering optimum health, including Nutrition and Cancer: State-of-the-Art, Vitamin C – The Master Nutrient, Germanium: The Health and Life Enhancer and numerous articles, Dr Goodman was the lead author of the Consensus Document: Nutritional and LifeStyle Guidelines for People with Cancer and compiled the Cancer and Nutrition Database for the Bristol Cancer Help Centre in 1993.

The catastrophic but flawed research paper in The Lancet in the early 1990s alleging that women with breast cancer attending the Bristol Cancer Help Centre (BCHC) were more likely to die than those undergoing conventional treatment almost led to the closure of BCHC. Having authored a scholarly article Nutritional and Lifestyle Guidelines for People with Cancer, Dr Goodman was then commissioned in the early 1990s to set up a Cancer and Nutrition database which would identify the published research papers in this field.

During the compilation of this database, drawn from some 5000 peer-reviewed research papers, it was suggested by Sandra’s long-term partner Mike Howell that there was a lack of communication of this type of research both to health professionals and the serious general reader of health information. Thus was born Positive Health magazine PH Online, which has now published over 237 issues (the print magazine ceased after Issue 150); the entire archive is exclusively online

Dr Goodman has worked for the past 22+ years as a co-founder and Editor of Positive Health PH Online in attempting to show that there is no divide between different types of healthcare, just different approaches, i.e. Integrated Medicine. She is passionate about making available to all people, particularly those with cancer,  research information and clinical expertise in the areas of Nutrition and Complementary Therapies. Laura Baxter, opera singer and performance coach, has studied the effects of the voice and body on non-verbal communication and leadership for over 25 years with a focus on Presence. Rev. Steph is a recovering non-denominational reverend who likes to walk a little on the wild side of God. The title of her latest book, recently released on Amazon, says it all: “The Miss-Adventures of an Irreverent Reverend: A Spirit-ed Guide for Rebels and Renegades.”

Born in London, England, she came to South Africa for the first time in 1985 on a 2-month holiday to see her mum, fell in love with South Africa, found the Science of Mind teaching and emigrated!

In 1987, she had a vision of starting a multi-racial ministry which would heal the wounds of Apartheid and, in 1989, moved to America where she studied for the ministry at Agape in Los Angeles under Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith of “The Secret” fame.

Rev. Steph founded and led the vibrant Soul Home metaphysical, multi-racial community in Johannesburg from 2000 till 2005 then handed the baton to her top students who successfully ran the ministry in her absence.

From 2005 – 2015, Stephanie indulged her itchy feet and her desire to write. She lived and worked in Europe, Egypt and Japan, mostly in language education, but still teaching metaphysics on the side in Russia, Canada, Egypt and Central Europe.

The directions to write her first book “Down Dirty and Divine: a spiritual ride through London’s underground” were given to her in a dream in 2011. In August 2015, Stephanie quit her marketing job in Europe and returned to South Africa to care for her elderly mother and her step-dad, who has Alzheimers.

She speaks at her church, Soul Home, 2 x per month and facilitates non-denominational sacred ceremonies – memorials, weddings and baby blessings. She also helps her clients to create their own ceremonies which are personal and unique and spiritual rather than traditionally religious. Rebecca Winkler will talk about the impact of PTSD on veterans and their families and the tragedy of veterans who take their own lives because of PTSD, as her son Drew did.

Autumn is my favorite time of year; perhaps that is because I was born into a big family, living in a small, upstate New York town, during this fabulous season. I am number six of seven children and ironically, I am now a mother of eight amazingly unique individuals. I love to write, teach, speak, inspire, motivate, and create. For me there are no limits, our potential is infinite, and our destiny is ours to design. Guiding individuals toward embracing their truths, discovering their passions, and living a balanced happy life is what I am here to do. Hello, I am Bernadette Di Gabriele and it is a great pleasure to meet you.

To begin, I grew up in a strict catholic home and realized early on that structured religion was not for me. It was in my mid-teen years that I had the chance to venture out and discover other religious mindsets. In my early twenties, I decided to dedicate myself to Christianity, moved to a small Tennessee town, and became an ordained Spiritual Teacher under the Church of God. During this time, I co-partnered a business heading the departments of Human Resources and Operations, while singing in and co-pastoring at a small church - where my primary focus was relationship enhancement, family services and youth counseling.

Still feeling unsettled about my spiritual beliefs, I began researching deeper into other philosophies and quickly became intrigued by the diversities and similarities I had discovered. I was now in my late twenties, finding myself at a major crossroad. Feeling desperate and trapped in a life of falsities, instability and uncertainty, I stumbled upon a spiritual weekend intensive that impacted my life so significantly that I had no choice but to make effective, necessary changes. I allowed my mind to embrace the idea of universal energies, I opened myself up to accept my gifts and passions, and I embarked on a new journey set to understand and grow what I knew was innate to me.

Through my studies, I have realized that there are very few absolutes, however, those that exist are irrefutable. I particularly enjoy working with one of these rarities, as I find discovering its power and ability invigorating. What is this captivating absolute, you ask? The answer is energy. Being a Usui Reiki Master and Theta Energy Practitioner, I tap into the power of this phenomenon in order to help others restore balance in their lives; ultimately creating happiness.

One of my favorite philosophies of life was stated in a quote by Yoganonda---It states; "You must not let your life run in the ordinary way.  Do something that no one else has done; something that will dazzle the world. Show that God's creative principle works in you."

Growing up as an only child, I lived in a 3 generational family sharing moments of joy, grief in the complications of war, economic adversity and disappointment.  This was an accepted norm of life.

I found myself in a caregiving role with mother and grandparents. Excellence in sports and academics were my escape at that time.   Church services every Sunday created my foundation about religion and spirituality.  Many times, I fell asleep in the pews of the church but that was also a normal expectation of the times for me.

In my fantasies, I would dream about stage performances, being a concert pianist, and creating activities for  entertaining my active imagination.    

However, as luck would have it, my caregiving responsibilities  continued throughout my lifetime with my aging grandparents, mother, husband and 3 children as well as fulfilling my teaching degree.  It seemed I never had time to stop and smell the roses---just for me.   However, after my husband's bout with a 12 year illness of Cancer and diabetes ended, I created a workbook  designed to nurture and support the broad  category of Caregivers.  

This is only the tip of the iceberg.  My life's experiences have all been stepping stones to a greater self awareness of my creative choices.
