Guest Biography:

Rick Strassman MD performed the first new human studies with psychedelic drugs in the US in over 20 years. His research involved the powerful naturally-occurring compound, DMT – N,N-dimethyltryptamine. Led to this substance through his earlier study of the pineal gland as a potential biological locus for spiritual experiences, he administered several hundred doses of DMT to approximately 60 volunteers between 1990 and 1995. He wrote about this research in the popular book, DMT: The Spirit Molecule, which has sold over 100,000 copies, has been translated into 12 languages, and is now available as an audio-book. It also inspired an independent documentary by the same name, picked up by Warner Bros distributing in Fall, 2011. With three distinguished collaborators, he co-authored Inner Paths to Outer Space, which looks more carefully at the common "other worlds" experience that volunteers frequently reported during his research.

Since 1996, Dr. Strassman has been exploring models for the DMT effect focusing primarily on the Old Testament concept of prophecy. Prophecy is a spiritual experience which takes into account the apparently external, free-standing nature of the DMT "worlds," in which one's sense of self is highly preserved and interactive. The Old Testament concept of prophecy provides an alternative to other models that borrow more heavily from Eastern religious systems, and those of Latin American shamanism. The notion of prophecy also deals directly with ethical and moral concerns, adding a crucial element to our ability to understand and integrate the content of the psychedelic experience. He is developing these ideas in his next book, The Soul of Prophecy, due to appear in 2013.

Dr. Strassman is currently Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. He is also President and co-founder of the Cottonwood Research Foundation, which is dedicated to consciousness research.

You may purchase DMT: The Spirit Molecule, and Inner Paths to Outer Space directly from the author on this site. Dr. Strassman does his best to answer every e-mail sent to him, so please feel free to make contact.

Guest Biography:

Our Very Special Guest today is legendary Music Mogul, Miles Copeland III

Miles was born in London, England, to Miles Axe Copeland, Jr., a CIA officer from Birmingham, Alabama,  and  Lorraine Copeland who was in British intelligence. Due to Miles Jr.'s profession, the family moved throughout the Middle East, in particular Syria, Egypt and Lebanon. As a result, Miles and his brothers became fluent in Arabic.

One of the music industry's most influential figures, Miles Copeland's career in management stretches back 44 years to 1969 in London where he represented progressive rock bands such as Wishbone Ash, Al Stewart, Climax Blues Band, Renaissance, Curved Air, and Caravan until he jumped ship, landed in the turbulent ocean of punk, and worked with the Sex Pistols, the Clash, Blondie, and many many more.

In 1978, he became manager of his Brother Stewart's band, The Police and shepherded them to become one of the biggest bands of the 1980s. The success of The Police and the novel methods used to break them enabled Miles to found I.R.S. Records. In the next few years, the company had hits with The Buzzcocks, The English Beat, The Cramps, Fine Young Cannibals, Wall of Voodoo, Timbuk 3, R.E.M. and a number one album with the all-girl group, The Go-Gos. He continued to manage Sting (solo) through seven blockbuster albums and introduced Sting to Algerian singer, Cheb Mami. Their collaboration bloomed with "Desert Rose" whose worldwide success was attributed to Miles' innovative corporate deal with Jaguar. In all, Miles can rightfully claim to have been involved in the sale of over 150 million albums. Miles currently owns and operates CIA - Copeland International Arts.

Miles Copeland is also the manager of the AndersonPonty Band which features legendary performers Jon Anderson and Jean Luc Ponty.

Knowledge of the Anunnaki here on Earth, both in the ancient past their presence here and now, is being fully-disclosed around the world. My hope is that this book will help the billions of primitive workers, left to fend for themselves on a hostile planet, to find hope that following the great destruction underway, wrought by the warring gods of Light and Dark, a promised peace in the new age of Aquarius is dawning, actually already upon us.

Guest Occupation: Internationally Published Writer, Professional Writing Coach & Editor
Guest Biography:

I wrote an essay recently called Healing the Mother Wound that was published. Little did I know that baby would grow wings and fly all around the world. It went viral. I tapped into a universal vein that had mind blowing impact.  I received letters worldwide thanking me for writing that piece- a deep, personal window into rage, grief and healing.  A forgiveness that not many come to in life.

These letters in my inbox spilled out cathartic releases from people.  One woman said her tears had been locked up inside her, a dry- to- the- bone empty well that she had to live with, bury, hide. When she landed on my essay, she said a waterfall of tears poured out of her for the first time in years. A healing so deep penetrated the core of her anger and resentment toward her mother, and she found her way back 'home' to herself. Softened. Open. Fueled with compassion.

This is the direct impact of sharing our stories. The hard ones. The ones that make me cringe to send out into the world, exposing my under belly to thousands of people.  The ripple effect that I witnessed is the very reason why I write, why I help writers' write, why writing the truth, being courageous enough to craft it out, is powerful beyond measure.

Not only is the process of writing an alchemical unveiling, it has the ability to reveal yourself to yourself. A peeling of layers, an unearthing of personal truth has the capacity to reach deep inside another person and literally change their lives as it changes your life.

I am a writing coach. I edit books and essays. I look beneathe the grammar and typos for the deeper story, the voice that wants to be speak and be heard, for the heart's pulse threading the words together like strands of pearls.

There are many people with poignant stories they keep hidden in the darkest cavern of their memory, in fear of letting them out into the light of day, of being vulnerable, of hurting others.  Maya Angelou said, "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside of you."  The weight of it is exhausting and detrimental to the soul and peace of mind. To lay it down on paper and step by step, saying it out loud, the load of life lightens and we realize our grief, our shame, our wound is universal. What is also universal is resilience, the cultivation of wisdom that can come from our hurt, and the shared journey of being ever so bone and blood-filled human.

Guest Biography:

CHRIS AMODEO

Chris Amodeo’s recent burst into music has been mythic. As a Rolfer®, Shaman and voiceover artist, he already lives an unusual life. ” I’ve spent the last 26 years in my own little magic box working with people individually exploring realms of therapy and personal transformation. Now, with the music, it’s still about transformation…. it’s just being delivered in a way that’s more familiar, accessible and fun .”

” I think people are hungry for what’s real, soulful and transparent, more than ever in this jaded, post-meltdown world. Now music can offer more than the status quo in this new, internet-based “free-for-all”. The epitome of rock’n roll has always been to challenge the status quo. Artists don’t have to play down to some vast demographic. We’re already seeing too much dumbing down of our culture…just look at what most of the world watches on Youtube. Reality is nearly degrading to what the movie Idiocracy portrayed. What I’m doing has an underlying shamanic/spiritual energetic wrapped in a musical idiom influenced by 60’s and 70’s folk, American and British pop and, of course, classic rock.”

Check out Chris Amodeo’s CD “Homo Luminious.”  Homo Luminous refers to a new kind of human emergence, foretold in Incan myth, characterized by a quantum shift in consciousness to a more essential, perceptual state that is capable of dreaming a new world into being. It represents our collective evolutionary journey.
