GUITARIST, LEAD SINGER AND SONGWRITER FOR THE SHEEPDOGS
Trends come and go, styles fall in and out of fashion, but The Sheepdogs remain steadfast in their commitment to rock n’ roll excellence. Since their inception, the band has always sought to play the kind of music they themselves love: “Pure, simple, good-time music,” as singer/guitarist Ewan Currie puts it. It’s no surprise, then, that the band’s fifth LP, Future Nostalgia, is firmly rooted in the rock tradition that listeners have come to expect from the boys.
The idea was simple: find a nice, quiet, secluded place and make a record packed with all the hot guitar licks and sing-along choruses they could muster. So the band holed up in a rented house in the remote, idyllic setting of Stony Lake, Ontario, and set about creating a studio where they could work all hours of the day. “We wanted to cut out all the noise and get back to a place where we could just fully immerse ourselves in music,” says Currie, who took on production duties for the album. “We worked hard, but we also made sure to keep it loose and have ourselves a good time.”
Future Nostalgia is the middle ground between the JUNO-winning, platinum-certified Learn & Burn, which spawned the rock radio staple “I Don’t Know,” and its equally successful follow-up, 2012’s The Sheepdogs, featuring the instantly-recognizable, Gold-certified singles “Feeling Good” and “The Way It Is.”
The former was recorded by Currie and the band in their hometown of Saskatoon before they were propelled to fame as the first unsigned band to grace the cover of Rolling Stone, pressure free and at their own pace. Its follow-up, however, recorded in Nashville with producer and Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney, was a much more formal and rigid studio experience. This time, the band aimed to combine the successes and lessons learned from these opposite ends of the recording spectrum.
Future Nostalgia builds upon The Sheepdogs’ foundation of feel-good vocal harmonizing and nasty guitar jamming. “Our musical journey has been about trying to find how we sound our best,” states Currie, and the album represents the pinnacle of their progress thus far. That’s made immediately clear from the opening riff of “Downtown,” an undeniable straight-up rocker that sparkles with the warmth of summer. Down at the other end of the street is “Bad Lieutenant,” which walks a dark and sexy strut courtesy of bassist Ryan Gullen and drummer Sam Corbett, who also tear up the furious “I Really Wanna Be Your Man.”
Newcomers Rusty Matyas and Ewan’s brother Shamus Currie, on guitar and keys respectively, bring a new spirit to the wistful back porch vibes of “Same Old Feeling” or the brooding melancholy of “Jim Gordon.” Elsewhere, the ominous groove of “Help Us All” calls to mind the bleak violence of Blood Meridian as sung by Sly & the Family Stone, punctuated by a devastating trombone solo from Shamus.
Now, The Sheepdogs are eager to embark on the next leg of their journey, which will involve many miles logged and stages played. “I’m excited for people to hear the album, because it’s a labour of love,” Currie says proudly. “Now, it’s just about getting it out there and getting people into it.”
From their cramped Saskatchewan jam space to gold and platinum records and shows with rock icons, The Sheepdogs haven’t strayed from their goal of sharing pure, passionate rock n’ roll with anyone who’ll listen – and Future Nostalgia is packed with it.
THE SHEEPDOGS have announced the release of the highly anticipated follow-up to their 2012 award-winning self-titled LP. FUTURE NOSTALGIA arrived everywhere on October 2nd, 2015 via Warner Music. Produced by lead vocalist and songwriter Ewan Currie alongside engineer Matt Ross-Spang (former engineer at Memphis’ Sun Studios) the 18 freshly-minted tracks on Future Nostalgia were recorded in the quiet and idyllic setting of Stony Lake, Ontario, a conscientious choice by the band to ensure they kept all distractions at bay and the recording process as natural as possible. The band, comprised of Currie, Ryan Gullen (bass/vox), Sam Corbett (drums/vox), Shamus Currie (keys/horns) and Rusty Matyas (guitar/vox), set up camp up for several weeks in a rented house in the remote country where they trucked in equipment to build a studio in order to record their latest effort. Says Currie “We worked from morning ‘til night, but we kept it loose, had a real good time, and came away with a rock n’ roll record”.
The latest record has many flavours showcasing the band’s creative license when left to their own devices ranging from the catchy, signature-sounding single “Downtown” to the introspective and soulful groove of “Bad Lieutenant” to “Help Us All”, a fresh take on a vintage vibe featuring a trombone solo from Ewan’s brother Shamus. Another highlight is the laid back, good-time, backyard jam “Same Old Feeling”, as well as the closing 6 tracks which flow one into the other to create a cohesive medley, much like the band did on their 2010 LP Learn and Burn.
Formed in Saskatoon in 2006, The Sheepdogs have received widespread acclaim for their bold and beautiful take on classic guitar rock, evinced on three self-funded, independently released albums. The band’s hard work, determination and impressive chops have earned them a fervent fan following, leading to the accumulation of various achievements and awards including four JUNO awards, seven JUNO nominations, Gold certification for The Sheepdogs and Platinum certification for Learn and Burn. The band’s 2012 self-titled LP debuted at #1 on the Top 200 SoundScan Chart, and garnered three #1 singles at Rock Radio including Gold certified tracks “Feeling Good” and “The Way It Is”. As impassioned on stage as they are on record, The Sheepdogs have spent much of their musical lifetime on the road playing innumerable headline shows and festival appearances worldwide.

EMMETT SKYY
In Hebrew, his name means TRUTH. To the world, he offers to share, evolve and develop in his truth with the hope of inspiring all of us to focus on the art of giving and receiving love.
Emmett Skyy, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was born into a family of soul singers and storytellers. Performing since the age of 3 in the gospel/soul world, he knew in his heart that he could not thrive and develop as an artist solely in this genre. Feeling limited in his environment prompted a move to Los Angeles, where he could reinvent and pursue his dream of creating music/art specific to his own identity.
Upon his arrival to L.A., Emmett spent several months walking the streets, living in his car and couch surfing. It was during this time, that he began to understand and embrace his truth, which prompted the formulation of the themes that have become the basis for his creativity and purpose.
Honing his musical style and sound, he has collaborated most recently with producer / songwriters, Chris Seefried, Jeff Trott and Louise Goffin. Emmett’s music does not fit into one genre but rather is a reflection of his widely diverse musical palate, drawing inspiration from artists like The Beatles, Marvin Gaye, Radiohead, Johnny Cash, Alabama Shakes, and John Mayer among others.
In consort with his music, he has begun designing a line of jewelry, clothing and accessories. In both music and fashion, Emmett’s hope and sensibilities are to create art that will one day be considered unique to his own identity and not be compared to anyone else.

LEGENDARY BASSIST KENNY AARONSON

Kenny Aaronson was born, bread and buttered in Brooklyn, New York. He started playing drums at the age of eleven, following in his older brother's footsteps. Kenny switched to electric bass at the age 14 after becoming enamored by the low end of the bass on Motown records that he would hear on the jukeboxes in local pizza joints. To this day, he is still a huge James Jamerson fanatic. As a teenager, he played bass for Brooklyn based hard rock band Dust, which included Marc Bell (a.k.a. Marky Ramone), which released two albums in 1971 and '72 on the Kama Sutra label. In 1973, Aaronson joined the New York band Stories, who's single,"Brother Louie", reached #1 on the Billboard, Cashbox and Record World charts.
Kenny Aaronson went on to become a recognized world-class rock and roll bassist with his extensive touring and recording with a variety of artists including Bob Dylan, Billy Idol, Joan Jett, Billy Squier, Foghat, HSAS (Sammy Hagar, Neil Schon, Kenny Aaronson, Michael Shrieve), Brian Setzer, Mick Taylor, Dave Edmunds, Robert Gordon, Graham Parker, Hall and Oates, Edgar Winter, Leslie West Band, Rick Derringer and many more.
In 1988 Kenny was named Bassist of the year by Rolling Stone Magazine. Aaronson was also bassist in the house band for the MTV Guitar Greats Show where along with Dave Edmunds, Chuck Leavell and Michael Shrieve, he had the opportunity to back up artists as diverse as Steve Cropper, Brian Setzer, Lita Ford, Tony Iommi and Dave Gilmore. A few of Kenny's most memorable moments in his career were auditioning for the Rolling Stones, recording with George Harrison and opening for Led Zeppelin.
Kenny Aaronson supports singer song writer John Eddie. In the summer of 2011 he toured with the New York Dolls supporting Motley Crue and Poison in the US along with solo Dolls dates in Australia. In the fall, they toured the U.K. supporting Alice Cooper. Kenny has recently supported Corky Laing, Robert Gordon and Philadelphia's "In The Pocket". Kenny played with The Yardbirds in the fall of 2015.

Edward Jones is what you might call an ordinary man although he insists he is not a man, as the word man is a label attached to the male of the species. He says, “If you declare yourself a man, then you’ll have more labels attached such as a real man or a real good man or an upstanding man or a dozen other labels, and then you’re lost in the trap of labels, of words. All these labels colour your perception and you will end seeing not the real person but an image of your own thinking, and this is the illusion we live in.”
So, if you are to meet Edward and call him a man, the first thing he will tell you is that he is not a man. Edward is meticulous with the words he speaks because this is a world trapped in words, and the words we use create the manner in which we create our lives.
Edward experienced a life altering event at the age of 36 which he later came to call a transformation in which he says he died. Everything he had been–a son, a husband, a businessman–collapsed at his feet in complete failure. It was the death of everything he had been in his life. Unlike others who have had and speak of a transformation, Edward hand no idea of what happened to him during his four hour death experience. He’d had never delved into mysticism or any kind of Eastern thought, but what he experienced was exactly what millions have searched for millennia . Edward calls it ecstasy–living with a new consciousness, one void of violence, stress, fear, and worry, one that is free.

Gloria La Riva is a labor, community and anti-war activist based in San Francisco, California. Born in Albuquerque, N.M., Gloria attended Brandeis University where she was active in affirmative action struggles.
Gloria has been a key organizer of many mass demonstrations and other actions opposing the wars and occupation in Central America, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia and elsewhere.
Gloria has worked for decades to defend Cuba’s sovereignty and against the U.S. blockade. She was awarded Cuba’s Friendship Medal in 2010, approved by the Council of State, for her many years of Cuba solidarity, and is the national coordinator of the National Committee to Free the Cuban Five.
Gloria has traveled to Venezuela many times since the election of Hugo Chávez to president in 1998, most recently in December 2014. She has engaged in discussions with leading members of the Bolivarian Revolution, including the late president, as well as current president Nicolás Maduro.
Gloria has been active in the struggle for immigrant rights, organizing for and speaking at many mass marches in California over the past 30 years. In the early 1990s, she was the initiator of the Farmworkers Emergency Relief campaign, following a disastrous freeze that left tens of thousands of Central Valley agricultural workers with no income.
Gloria organized support for the Black Fire Fighters Association in their struggle to end racist and sexist discrimination in the San Francisco Fire Department in the 1980s.
A longtime supporter of LGBTQ rights, Gloria participated in the first National March for Lesbian and Gay rights in 1979 and subsequent national marches. She joined in the marches and rallies protesting the passage of the anti-marriage equality Prop 8 in California. She has joined picket lines defending women’s reproductive health clinics.
In 1998 Gloria produced the award-winning video, Genocide by Sanctions: The Case of Iraq, documenting the effects of the U.S./UN blockade on Iraq. In 1999, she traveled twice to Yugoslavia with former U.S. attorney general Ramsey Clark, at the height of the U.S./NATO bombing war, producing the video, NATO Targets. In September 2005, six days after Hurricane Katrina, Gloria traveled to New Orleans, producing the video Heroes Not Looters. In 2014, she traveled to Ferguson during the uprising there in the wake of the police murder of Michael Brown.

Larry Nichols, former 10 year accomplice to the Clintons, can now add hit-man to his list of dirty deeds. Nichols dropped a bombshell on The Pete Santilli Show when he very calmly admitted that he had murdered people, on command, for Bill and Hillary Clinton.
Mr. Nichols has been a voice crying out in the wilderness since he brought to light the sexual brutality of Bill Clinton during his reign as Governor in Arkansas. That information would eventually play a key role to Clinton’s impeachment in the 90′s. Larry says he makes no apologies.
They sent me overseas to kill people for them and told me it was for the good of the Country. So when they asked me to do it for them in the States it felt no different. The real truth is, I did it for the money and I didn’t give a s**t about the women I beat and the men I murdered.
The Clintons are bad people and I did bad things for them. I had to live with that all of these years and now I just don’t care anymore who knows it. Nichols and many other insiders claim Clinton began having sex with Hubble to gain employment at The Rose Law Firm which she believed would eventually advance Bill Clinton’s chances of becoming Governor of Arkansas.

I have more than 20 years of training and experience. I earned my certification and learned how to transmit divine energy as a Soul Doctor under the tutelage of my friend, brother and guru, saint Swamiji Sri Sai Kaleshwar from Penukonda, India over 7 years. He always gave credit to his master, saint Shirdi Sai Baba who he said is a grandfather to all people. My education in the Soul University with Swamiji in India and the USA was preceded by some years with Isis in an Egyptian Mystery School, and 12 years of intuitive coaching training in the healing arts by working for and with master Mona Miller. I also consider my decade of time working primarily as an auditor for the Big 4 Accounting firms and traveling the globe serving Fortune 5 and 100 company accounts as part of my education. Above all, I am blessed with my first teachers, my loving and faithful parents who taught me through their actions. My father and mother are high priests to me and I love them deeply – my dad literally is a married priest and my mom was a nun and I have happily been raised with the belief that the highest calling is to serve others. I am blessed and ever grateful to all the bright angels in my life who have helped mold me and continue to teach me through infinite love.

In 1983, Jeff began an active search for more spiritual connections to life, and was introduced to Reiki trainings. The following year began a two decade immersion into a Bhakti Yoga meditation path, profoundly transforming his inner landscape. In 1997, Jeff learned the Merlin based lineage of VortexHealing, and mastered those skills quickly.
By now his own innate power to heal began to evolve, along with a developing awareness of galactic presence. A deep longing pulled him daily into this great expanse, further pushing the boundaries of his awareness. An inner dialog had begun, from which Jeff came to intuit his own healing discipline, and multi-dimensional understanding of reality. A creative master craftsman, Jeff lives in southern Arizona. With 3 decades working in both custom furniture and cabinet shops, Jeff is accomplished at most phases of kitchen remodeling. His work has included full kitchen/bath design, cabinetry installation, fabrication and installation of solid surface countertops. Currently, Jeff works a kitchen/bath field measurer. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in sculpture from the California College of Arts and Crafts, Jeff went on to expand his talents into welding kinetic sculpture and nature drawing.
Jay Hall is Assistant Mathematics Professor at Howard College in Big Spring, Texas. He has a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma. Hall has 53 credit hours of Science courses in various disciplines. He has taught at the High School, Technical School and Community College levels. He also has experience in the actuarial field for a number of insurance and consulting organizations.

CHASE BELL
Chase Bell is an American pop songwriter/composer who performs his original cinematically driven pop music in LA with his sister Emma Bell and virtuosic violinist/film composer Darius Campo. Chase has also performed in Europe and Africa with his Rock/Pop band in Italy Chase Bell & White Licorish, as the Lead Singer.
In 2015/2016 Chase released a 3 song cinematically inspired pop EP called “Whatever Love Means.”
Currently Chase and Darius are performing in LA and finishing another cinematically driven EP featuring female pop singers.

MARISA RONSTADT
Marisa Ronstadt, from Phoenix Arizona and a performer since the age of seven, has musical tastes that are rooted in mariachi, R&B/soul, and rock, but like many Mexican-American’s raised in the U.S., her influences range from Lola Beltran and Pedro Infante, to The Beatles and Marvin Gaye. Now Marisa calls Los Angeles her home.
In Los Angeles she has developed ties with major local talent such as GRAMMY® award winners Quetzal Flores and Martha Gonzalez of the band Quetzal, Los Lobos, David Gomez and Jeremy Keller of the band Monte Carlo 76, R&B/Soul sensation Aloe Blacc (“Wake Me Up” and “I Need a Dollar”), and the singer-songwriter/rapper Maya Jupiter. In 2009, Marisa recorded and released an album as the lead vocalist for the band Monte Carlo 76 titled Marisela, produced by Quetzal Flores and Martha Gonzalez. After touring with Monte Carlo 76, she began songwriting with band member Jeremy Keller.
ALEX PAINTER
From the banks of the Mississippi to the streets of Los Angeles, songwriter/singer/multi-instrumentalist Alex Painter reflects his multicultural background by creating a collection of storytelling songs bathed in the flavors of soul, funk, dub and electronic sounds.
Alex Painter paid his dues on the road and in the studio with the bands Sinister Dane, Section 8, Vehicle, Famboey, The Peak Show and Onostatic. Following this run he released his solo debut The Joyful Process. Currently he continues to write and perform his own material as well as collaborate with other artists.
ALEX COOK
Since 1997 Alex Cook has created over 110 murals in 15 states and 4 countries (USA, Kenya, Nigeria, Guatemala). Alex’s work focuses on community and spiritual themes expressed through nature imagery and storytelling.
In 2004 Cook founded Art Builds Community, a mural painting program for teenagers in his hometown of Boston, MA. ABC hired teens during summers, teaching them the skills of mural painting and creating many murals in the neighborhoods of Boston and surrounding areas.
Over many years Cook has taught art and creativity to children and adults in many different situations ranging from alternative high schools and court-ordered community reintegration programs, to after school programs and summer camps.
His work in education and the powerful experiences of creating art in public have caused Cook’s artwork to become deeply social. Many of his mural projects include community participation during which community members are invited to make their contribution to a larger artwork within a structure. For Cook, painting is only half of the art – the other half is creating environments in which community members feel the love of connection and creation. Past collaborations have been with community groups, schools, churches, prisons, youth organizations and many more.
Cook is also an inspired musician. Between 2008-2013 he wrote and recorded 5 albums of original Bible-based music and performed over 200 concerts in the US and abroad. Cook has brought his music ministry to churches, community centers, prisons, homeless shelters and street festivals.
Between 2007-2014 Cook served as a chaplain at the Nashua Street Jail in Boston, MA. There he led groups and individuals in Bible study, prayer, and gave pastoral care to detainees.
One of Cook’s current endeavors, the YOU ARE LOVED mural project, makes murals whose image is simply the words “YOU ARE LOVED”. It began as a mural message to students in an elementary school in New Orleans, LA, and has grown into a project working with communities all over the US to influence public conversation about self-worth and value.
