In 2011 he played for the West Coast Hotshots in the International Basketball League.[2]
According to the astrological signs of the Chinese and Maya, I was born a healer. People born under these signs have gifts. Mine is sensitivity to energy fields; I am an empathic and intuitive. I chose the path of natural healing (T.ND.) My studies became a journey rather than a destination. As my interest in chronic conditions grew, I explored emotional healing and metaphysics (PhD). Soon after, I began receiving invitations from elders of traditional cultures. They teach connection to the Earth and Oneness.
The insights from each of these philosophies blend to become a practice dedicated to achieving total well-being. My work with people is transpersonal, holistic and life enhancing. It offers them tools that encourage a proactive healing experience. As a holistic healer and student of subtle energy, it is my nature to watch for hidden components. If the adage “ truth will set you free” is accurate, then it will also heal all manner of chronic conditions, including poverty and gender inhumanities. Every lesson, every person, every experience is a footstep in the journey. The wisdom gleaned becomes the gems I offer students, clients and readers.
As a young girl, I wanted my life to be extraordinary; not rock star status, but one that would leave a gentle footprint. That desire was my beacon as I raised three children to become upstanding adults, then worked with women inspiring them to find security within. Healing is an introduction of new information, and teaching proactive skills has allowed my people to find wellness and happiness. Over the years, I have spoken to groups of more than a thousand people, and had the thrill of being a guest on numerous television programs and radio interviews. I have performed marriage ceremonies, given sermons, blessed houses and infants, and even delivered a baby. I have been planting seeds of change from Florida to Hawaii to Central America. All these were amazing experiences and, yet I am just beginning. I continue the journey today in Honduras with a Single Mothers Project.
Writing and speaking allow me to spread the message of healing through nutrition, kindness, and caring even further. When not consulting with clients over phone or internet, writing, or traveling to teach, I help where needed in my local Honduran community.
Hal Elrod has some serious bragging rights. He is the bestselling author The Miracle Morning and Talking LIfe Head On! national champion Sales Manager, record-breaking Sales Rep, ultra-marathon runner, grateful husband & proud father.
He has appeared on dozens of TV and radio shows across the country, and he’s been featured in numerous books, including The Education of Millionaires, the all-time bestselling Chicken Soup for the Soul series, Cutting Edge Sales, The 800-Pound Gorilla of Sales, Releasing the Chains, Living College Life In the Front Row, and The Author’s Guide To Building An Online Platform, to name a few.
And he managed to achieve all of these goals after being hit by a drug driver and told he would never walk again. But he does not really think of himself as being a role model or an inspiration. Rather, he maintains that simply was diligent in working to make the most of his talents and abilities, showing the determination that any of us can summon.

Who is Dr. Parisetti?
Basically, I am a person who cares about others. The following few paragraphs tell the story of a lucky person - somebody with a range of diverse interests and passions who was able to pursue them to the fullest. I have done different things in my life, there have been phases, and changes. But one thing stayed with me all the time: the fundamental desire to make a difference for those around me - patients, victims of war and natural disasters, students, and now the bereaved and the dying.
1980's - university and general practice
After getting my MD in 1986 from the University of Milan, Italy, I worked for a few years as junior GP, employed by the Italian Red Cross. This was a great experience - working at the entry levels of the medical profession, in direct contact with people and their real, immediate problems, I could fully appreciate something I wasn't really taught at medical school: whatever the condition a person suffers from, there is always a psychological, emotional component at play. In some cases, emotions play such a primary role that we can say they are largely responsible for the patient's condition.
Early 1990's - further education
Being interested in working in the international humanitarian aid sector, I went on to get postgraduate education in Public Health, form Cardiff University (UK), and in Disaster Management, from the University of Louvain in Belgium.
1990's - an "explosive" humanitarian career
At the end of 1992 I was hired by the International Red Cross and had some of the most humanly enriching experiences of my life. Young, enthusiastic, highly motivated (and reasonably lucky), in the turn of just a few years I moved from technical positions in the field (Kenya, Somalia, former Soviet Union) to senior management, first in the field (I was the first Head of Delegation for the Red Cross in North Korea) and then at the Geneva headquarters (I was put in charge of the largest-ever assistance operation of the Red Cross, serving 1.1 million refugees in five countries of the Great Lakes region of Africa). Pursuing such inflationary growth in my career, in 1998 I then moved to the United Nations in New York, dealing with the political aspects of international humanitarian assistance.
2000's - academia
After three years, I realised that the UN job had taken me too far away from my medical roots and my humanitarian motivations. I therefore decided to leave the international system and took up a late academic career. For 13 years I taught public health and disaster management to graduate and doctoral students at three major universities, and for six years I also was the coordinator of a Master's Degree in International Aid Management.
A scholar of psychical research
In the mid-2000's, a new, major intellectual interest appeared in my life. I started passionately studying and researching the transition we call death. I became a member of the Society for Psychical Research in the UK and of the International Association for Near-Death Studies, two professional scientific and research organisations. I also became a member of the Windbridge Institute in the US, which carries out cutting-edge fundamental and applied psychical research. After reading some 30,000 pages of literature, in 2008 I decided to write my own book, called 21 Days into the Afterlife. I compiled and systematically presented the evidence I had come across as I would have done in my university classroom. This was to become a bit of a world-wide success, drawing very positive reviews and being translated into several languages.
Grief counselling
In 2013, my desire to turn my scholarly interest into something directly useful for others brought me to take early retirement from the university and to dedicate myself fully to working with the bereaved and the dying. To prepare for this, I had formally trained in cognitive and behaviour psychotherapy at Stonebridge College in the UK. In 20I2 I also had the incredible luck of training personally with one of my intellectual heroes, Dr. Raymond Moody in the US.
Guest Biography From: http://kahudes.net/about-us/
Karen Hudes studied law at Yale Law School and economics at the University of Amsterdam. She worked in the US Export Import Bank of the US from 1980-1985 and in the Legal Department of the World Bank from 1986-2007. She established the Non Governmental Organization Committee of the International Law Section of the American Bar Association and the Committee on Multilateralism and the Accountability of International Organizations of the American Branch of the International Law Association.
In 2007 Karen warned the US Treasury Department and US Congress that the US would lose its right to appoint the President of the World Bank if the current American President of the World Bank did not play by the rules. The 66 year old Gentlemen’s Agreement that Europe would appoint the Managing Director of the IMF and US would appoint the World Bank President ended in 2010
In 1999 Karen reported the corrupt take-over of the second largest bank in the Philippines. Lucio Tan, a crony of Joseph Estrada, then President of the Philippines, acquired stock owned by government employees in Philippines National Bank (“PNB”) valued more than 10% of PNB’s outstanding capital without disclosure, as required by Philippines securities laws. Tan owned Philippines Airlines, in default on its loans from PNB. The government of the Philippines loaned $493 million to PNB after PNB’s depositors made heavy withdrawals. $200 million of a loan from the World Bank and a $200 million loan from Japan were cancelled. Estrada was ultimately impeached, and in 2007 an anti-corruption court in the Philippines required Estrada to refund graft he had plundered. The Bank’s Country Director in the Philippines reassigned Karen when she asked him to sign a letter warning the Philippines’ government that the Bank could not disburse its loan without a waiver from the Board of Executive Directors since the loan conditionality was not met. The World Bank’s Internal Audit Department refused to correct the satisfactory evaluation of the Bank’s supervision performance or the flawed report of the Institutional Integrity Department to the Audit Committee of the Board of Executive Directors. When the Audit Committee requested an audit of internal controls over financial reporting, KPMG, the external auditors, circumscribed the scope of their audit in violation of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
Two days after informing the Board’s Audit Committee of the cover-up in the Philippines, Karen was reprimanded and placed on probation. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested the World Bank’s Audit Committee to look into the cover- up. Instead, the Chair of the World Bank’s Audit Committee requested an inquiry into the World Bank’s Institutional Integrity Department. The Senate Committee on Foreign Relations followed up with three letters to the World Bank. The World Bank forged documents and fired Karen in contempt of Congress. The World Bank also fired the Staff Association’s lawyer. The Staff Association stated that what had happened to Karen had damaged staff morale and prevented others from reporting misconduct. The World Bank’s Ethics’ Officer left in frustration after her request for an investigation by the World Bank’s Institutional Integrity Department was turned down.
Mr. Paul Volcker headed the 2007 inquiry into the Institutional Integrity Department. The Volcker Panel was discredited after sixteen staff employed in the Institutional Integrity Department received significant damage awards in compensation for abuses of authority to intimidate them during the Volker Panel investigation. A staff-member of the EU’s anti-fraud agency, Office Lutte Anti-Fraude, on the Volcker Panel wrote to Karen: “My Director General and I met with a number of European Executive Directors of the World Bank a few weeks ago to discuss the Volcker Panel report. At the meeting there was also discussion about governance issues. My impression was that the European Executive Directors are well apprised of all relevant issues at the Bank and no further comment by OLAF is warranted even if it was within our legal competence.”
Karen informed Senator Bayh, “[t]he ongoing cover-up is an indictment of the probity of US oversight at the Bank and I would encourage the Senate to request GAO to look into it.” Senators Richard Lugar, Evan Bayh and Patrick Leahy requested GAO to investigate “internal resistance to increased transparency and accountability at the World Bank.” In 2008 Karen’s Congressman, Representative Chris Van Hollen, noted “that [Karen's] claims and concerns have already been provided to the GAO…. and to the relevant congressional committees.” In 2009 GAO stated that it could not commence the inquiry “because of challenges we recently faced in gaining access to World Bank officials.” Senator Lugar asked what was delaying the GAO review during hearings on the World Bank’s capital increase.
Mr. Pieter Stek, then Executive Director for the Netherlands, and Chair of the Board Committee on Development Effectiveness, said: “In a multilateral institution which should be governed by the rule of law and high standards of probity the charge of concealment from the Board of Executive Directors of information relevant to the exercise of its duty of supervising management and the persecution of the person who brings this to light is extremely serious. If correct, which I believe, this poisonous cocktail undermines good governance and ultimately the effectiveness of the Bank in fulfilling its mandate. I shall continue to assist Ms. Hudes in her efforts to have due process brought to bear, preferably by the Bank itself, on these issues of governance.”
David Brooks wrote: “Then there are violations, when someone intentionally breaks the rules. Errors can be very hard for outsiders to detect. It was people inside the companies who were most likely to report fraud, because they have local knowledge. And yet 80 percent of these whistleblowers regret having reported the crimes because of the negative consequences they suffered. This is not the way to treat people who detect error.”
p> Called to love people, to set them free and to grow God’s church, pastoring has been R. Loren Sandford’s lifelong passion. He has served four churches full time since 1976, two of which he planted. Recognition as a prophetic voice was never his ambition. His passion for people and the church, however, have led directly to a prophetic calling and the need to hear the voice of God so he could help prepare God’s people for the coming days. In recent years everything Loren has done, from his work as a songwriter and worship leader to preaching, teaching and writing books, has been seen and interpreted by the wider body of Christ as prophetic in its impact. As John Sandford’s eldest son, heritage, it seems, can be inescapable. As a pastor/prophet, Loren always speaks from the Father’s heart–the heart of a shepherd training up those prophetically called, as well as those gifted in other areas of ministry.
In 1973 he completed a B.A. degree in music education, then moved to California and attended Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, earning a Master of Divinity degree in 1976.
Since 1976 Loren has served four churches full time, successfully planting two of them himself, including New Song Church and Ministries, Denver, Colorado where he remains the senior pastor. In 1979 and 1980 he co-directed Elijah House (an international ministry in Christian counseling and counselor training) and continues to be in demand internationally primarily for teaching but also for leading worship. Initially ordained in a mainline denomination where he served on the national board for the charismatic renewal group within that affiliation, he has since served in the Vineyard (1988-1992) and was affiliated with Partners in Harvest (1996-2013), an association of churches associated with the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship (now known as Catch the Fire Toronto) and the renewal centered there. He was a member of the International Input Council for Partners in Harvest, overseeing the central western region for that family of churches and serving as a recognized prophetic voice within the movement. Now independent, he is involved in overseeing churches in several states.
In 1991 he was the worship leader for the first Promise Keepers mass men’s meeting at the CU Event Center in Boulder, Colorado and has released fourteen CDs of original music, most of it for worship. In addition to the music, Loren is the author of “Purifying the Prophetic: Breaking Free from the Spirit of Self-Fulfillment”, “Understanding Prophetic People: Blessings and Problems with the Prophetic Gift”, “The Prophetic Church: Wielding the Power to Change the World”, “Renewal for the Wounded Warrior: A Burnout Survival Guide for Believers” and now “Visions of the Coming Days: What to Look for and How to Prepare”.
Loren has been married to Beth since 1972 and they have three grown children. His son, Nathan, serves full-time as his co-pastor at New Song Church and Ministries in Denver, Colorado. They share everything from leadership to weight lifting and worship leading, as well as a passion for revival and the move of God’s Spirit. Loren’s two daughters and their husbands serve at New Song in volunteer capacities. All three children are married and have given Loren and Beth nine beautiful grandchildren. Loren is a member of the Osage Nation, a native American heritage he cherishes.

All too often, organizations implementing operational excellence (OE) do so without addressing the human and cultural implications of such a change strategy. They conduct studies, move equipment, reduce work in process, collocate employees and change measurement systems, all focusing on minimizing waste and improving the flow of value through the value stream, but they overlook the human impact of these changes, the mindset and belief system that must accompany it. As a result, they find themselves “reworking” the initiative, an unfortunate and wasteful irony. Be it manufacturing, service, administration or product development, the result is the same. Without clear understanding, buy-in and commitment, the initiative does not lead to sustained culture change. It simply fades into history as another “flavor of the month.”
Recognized as an international expert on leading culture change, John Murphy helps organizations address this issue head on. The author of 15 books on related topics, and a guest on over 400 radio and television stations, Murphy teaches leaders worldwide how to integrate the culture piece (of OE) with the systems, structural, and “tools” components. Approaching the change process with an integrated strategy leads to powerful, measurable, sustainable results.

Heidi Barham thinks of hospices as being much more than simply places where people go to die. By her accounting, they can prove life-enhancing for patients who might no longer benefit from medical intervention, providing them with art therapy, music therapy, spiritual consultation and a chance to leave a legacy perhaps in the form of a video that shows them playing the piano.
Ms. Barham, chair of African American Outreach Committee for the Hospice of the Western Reserve, is working alongside other members of that committee to spread that message at health fairs and other similar events. She realizes that it might take quite a while for that message to have its full impact. But she is pleased that increasingly more African Americans are utilizing the hospices where she works. And she is also encouraged when she receives calls from people, some of the prominent, who had previously spoken against hospice care but have changed their attitude when they saw home much it benefitted a loved one.
