Dr. Dacher studies and teaches the principles and practices of health and healing with a special focus on inner development and human flourishing. His work emphasizes the traditional goals of medicine: the end of distress and suffering and the promotion of each individual’s fullest potential.
Dr. Dacher was born and raised in New York City. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Queens College, C.U.N.Y. and attended medical school at S.U.N.Y. at Buffalo. His post-graduate training was completed at the Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago and on the Harvard Medical Service at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston. He is board certified in Internal Medicine.
In 1975 Dr. Dacher began his medical practice in Washington, D.C. He served as a practicing internist, physician/administrator, and director of wellness and health promotion services for the Kaiser Permanente Health Care Program. In 1984 he established a private medical practice in Virginia. He began exploring and integrating innovative approaches, such as meditation, imagery, yoga, biofeedback, and alternative therapies, into his day-to-day work with patients.
In 1996 he left medical practice to begin an in-depth study of the principles and practices of consciousness and health – an ongoing study of mind/body medicine, integral health, and human flourishing, which he pursued amongst the wisdom traditions of Asia. This unique education in the inner aspects of health and healing led to his most recent book, Aware, Awake, Alive. In this book. Dr. Dacher brings together the wisdom and practices of East and West, introducing the reader to a time-tested, practical, and accessible approach to a far-reaching health and healing.
He is a past fellow at the Institute of Noetic Sciences and a past advisory board member of the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine. A frequent presenter and seminar leader, his previous books include: Integral Health: The Path to Human Flourishing (Basic Books, 2006), Whole Healing (Dutton/Plume, 1996), and Intentional Healing (Marlowe, 1996).
Dr. Dacher currently lives in Massachusetts. He has two amazing daughters and two wondrous young grandchildren.
Nicki Scully has been teaching healing, shamanic arts, and the Egyptian Mysteries since 1983 . Stephen Sakellarios is a video/audio archivist, producer and editor living in Myrtle Beach, SC. He has a master's degree in Counseling and Human Systems from Florida State University (unused professionally). He tried playing the didgeridoo with this new outlook and his life went in a completely new direction. Having the brass technique from his trombone training and the vision of incorporating meditative practices into music making, AJ rapidly developed a didgeridoo style that drew on his many influences yet came from a deep place.
Shortly after moving to New York the didgeridoo began to open many doors for AJ and his friend Tyler Sussman. The two soon founded Didge Project and began bringing the didgeridoo into many different environments. Early collaborations combined the instrument with healing work (such as acupuncture and reiki), yoga classes and eventually dance parties and world music events. Didge Project soon became a well known organization in the New York community of consciousness.
As the director of Didge Project, AJ saw the need for a community of didgeridoo players in New York and began organizing gatherings and workshops to teach how to play the sacred aboriginal instrument. There was enough demand and interest that AJ became one of New York’s only full-time didgeridoo players and teachers. He now travels extensively bringing the didgeridoo and his work around the world.

Suzanne Ward was born in Youngstown (Ohio, USA) in 1933. She moved to Miami, where she married and her four children were born. Bill Chastain was born in 1941 in a coal camp in Harlan County, Kentucky, but was raised in the Appalachian Mountains of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Bill then joined the US Air Force, an environment in which he thrived, and was promoted right out of basic training to become the youngest Drill Instructor in the Air Force.
After the military he took a job in an electronics factory, soon progressing into the research lab, then field project engineer designing and building steel mills and power plants. His company offered him a full scholarship to Pittsburgh University for engineering, but he turned it down.
Bill left Pittsburgh for Olympia, Washington where he managed very large pulp and paper mill construction projects. After forest products he entered aerospace, taking a job as a facilities worker in a Boeing Plant near Seattle. Soon he was managing projects, including the largest aircraft production facility in the world and the Boeing Japan Offices in Tokyo. After 13 years, Bill retired from Boeing as a self-taught Senior Strategic Analyst.
After Boeing, Bill traveled the world as an international trouble-shooter until 2006 when he returned to aerospace as a consultant with the Boeing Company. While at Boeing Bill began working with a medical discovery, later known as APeX. The first person exposed to APeX resolved their Stage IIIC Lung cancer in three months and word spread. Soon there were many cancer victims wanting to try this new discovery. Bill and his wife Emi decided to give up aerospace consulting and devote full time to APeX. That was almost five years ago.
Dr. Hoffman is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Medical University of South Carolina. She received her M.D. degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 1983 and completed her Gastroenterology Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in 1989. Frank Huguenard received a BS/CS from Purdue University in Computer Science in 1982 and has spent decades in silicon valley as a software engineer.
