I have taught MediSounds Meditation and vocal sound-based mindfulness practices worldwide, in places as diverse as Esalen and Omega Institutes, Tibet House in NYC, meditation workshops in Andalusia Spain and Oxford England, and the Sri Auribindo Auroville community in India.
In addition to group presentations, I work in private sessions and accept long term students from all walks of life who are seeking personal growth and spiritual development, as well as those confronting challenging life situations.
Under the auspices of The Great Octave Foundation, my activities have included work with Palestinian and Israeli school children in the Holy Land, HIV positive men and women in Mexico City, returning Iraq war veterans, counselors dealing with the homeless in New York City, and health professionals worldwide.
In 2001 I was honored to give the keynote address in Washington, DC to introduce US Congressman Dennis Kucinich’s bill H. R. 808 to create a Cabinet Level Department of Peace. In addition, I have developed two iPhone apps to promote deep sound sleep: MediSounds for Sleep and Snap Nap.
Prior to creating MediSounds Meditation, I was a partner in a New York City Invesment Bank. Previous to Investment Banking, I had a 20-year career in business consulting, including as Manager of Training and Development at Sandoz Inc. and Director of Organizational Communications at the public relations firm Hill & Knowlton.
As President of my own consulting firm, I advised on issues of communication and organizational development at such corporations as Ford Motor Company, United States Lines, Nabisco Brands, and Irving Trust.
I am the author of the highly acclaimed book, Kabbalah of Prayer ~Sacred Sounds and the Soul’s Journey, and the creator of audio CDs including MediSounds - The Path to Wholeness; and Beyond Words- Sacred Sounds of the Tree of Life; as well as Vibration -Shulamit and the Drepung Gomang Buddhist Monks.
Currently I am conducting a series of free “Immersive Sound Baths” sponsored by the not-for-profit Great Octave Foundation. The next Sound Baths are on February 20th in Soho and at Unison Learning Center in the Hudson Valley on March 7th. The Sound Baths will be held on a monthly basis and future dates will be announced soon.
