Guest Occupation: Political Candidate, Activist, Owner of Castle Rock Colorado
Guest Biography:

My name is Dagny Van Der Jagt, and I am running to be the 1st District Attorney for the 23rd Judicial District of Colorado in 2025. With nearly twenty years of legal experience, I am professionally suited for this position. I have served as a deputy District Attorney Criminal Prosecutor, Civil Litigator and Criminal Defense Attorney in this community for many years. As the owner of a small successful Law Firm with multiple attorneys under my command in Castle Rock Colorado, I know how to stick to a budget, count paper clips, and operate a professional and effective organization that is accountable to its customers. I know how to balance life as a homeschooling mother in a demanding career. But most importantly, I know how to organize and live by my allegiances.

I believe in my God over my Nation, meaning I do not compromise my deeply held beliefs. I hold the Constitution as the rigid and firm foundation of all laws. Although I place Liberty above Security and Principles above Party, I recognize Law Enforcement as a necessary guard of Freedom and Property. We must honor our Police who necessarily defend our Liberty through limited use of power. We must be TOUGH & FAIR on Crime.

When a society bends the rules, allows petty criminals to loot private property, and corrupts the political, educational, medical and criminal systems, you have the introduction to Ayn Rand's novel “Atlas Shrugged.” When you introduce Dagny Van Der Jagt, you have a fierce defender of your Constitutional Rights.

My campaign is not born through a list of well known politically entrenched allies. Its genesis is through months of consistent and prayerful thought with my family and friends. I decided to pledge to hold the office of District Attorney as my only political goal, after which, I plan to return to private practice being proud of my service to my community. Through my dedication to this role, I hope to support other like minded elected officials to never compromise on the Constitution and to teach our youth what it means to be civil.

This is a grassroots effort that will take my friends and supporters offering financial and physical support. As I develop my website and other materials, please like and share my messages. If you'd like to help, please reach out to me. Together, we can stop the erosion of our principles and be the shining light on the hill for our neighboring communities.

Reaux Fareal is a 2x National Spoken Word Winner, a published author, a singer with more than 500k streams, a Film Director with a film on Amazon Prime, an Activist, and Motivational Speaker in New Orleans, LA.

A Louisiana native and resident, Reaux Fareal, is multi-talented with a professional career beginning at age 7.

He began writing Kid’s Korner in the Monroe Free Press and earned $10 per week for his published articles sharing a kid’s perspective on social events and politics. By 13, he had become so popular in North Louisiana that he emerged into radio, becoming the youngest employed radio personality in Louisiana history.

Since his childhood, Reaux has been a public figure in the Louisiana/Texas region. In 2001, He founded Amps Magazine and franchised it in 7 other cities before selling it. He was a founding partner of the Congo TV Network in 2017.

He has recorded more than 10 Spoken Word Albums, 2 Spiritual Albums, and 4 R&B projects.

Reaux played a role on the HBO series, Treme, and he has also been featured on Fox Sports, MTV, TBN, and Congo TV Network. He wrote, directed, and starred in Get The Ring, now playing on Amazon Prime.

As an Author, most of his books are published under his birth name (Ro Wright). Even though he has self published five books, it's the fifth book that received the greatest notoriety. The People Next Door, a fictional novel won him Fiction Book of the Year at the annual ULM Book Club at University of Louisiana at Monroe. The book has also been featured at Dillard University, more than 10 high schools, and numerous churches around the country.

In 2008, Reaux recognized the effects of Vitiligo on his skin. Like many who are afflicted with the unusual skin condition, he threw himself into a long depression. The spots varied on his body, and they were never consistent. They’d appear and disappear at random times. It made Reaux learn more about the Vitiligo community and he has actually spoken in many forums about ‘Living With Vitiligo’.

Growing up in the South as a “PK”, he was introduced to religion at an early age. He was a Louisiana State Leader in the Baptist Youth Encampment, which housed more than 2k kids on the campus of Southern University every Summer. Becoming interested in how ministry could be a tool to reach youth through Hip Hop, he went to a small seminary led by the Dr. Larry Hood. Reaux quickly learned religion could not hold his attention, but it led him to becoming more Spiritual than he had ever been in his life. He led two outreach ministries, one in Shreveport and in New Orleans, hoping to empower the difference between Religion and Spirituality before ultimately resigning from ministry altogether.

“I feel I am more effective using my gifts to bridge racial gaps, empowering others through my books, and connecting people through my music and many creative abilities.”

Reaux’s Parlay Company makes clothing for his staple brand, Parlay. His son, Cadence, is being groomed to manage The Parlay Clothing Co. However, Parlay is more credible for its charitable efforts through the Parlay Foundation. The group organized a social media campaign during Covid to provide financial aid for HBCU students. “I Got 5 On It Fridays” challenged people to donate $5 every Friday to help HBCU students. The Parlay Foundation was able to help over 50 students pay off tuition debt, raising more than $25k in its first year. Reaux, who attended Southern University in Baton Rouge while in college, is an outspoken advocate for Historically Black Collages and Universities.

Born Roosevelt Wright (Ro Wright), he uses Reaux Fareal as his moniker because it connects him to his Louisiana roots and reminds him to always be himself… unapologetically.

Reaux has publicly stated his greatest honor is being the father of three sons. Cadence, Ethan, and Caleb, the Godson that he always claims as his own.

#1 Amazon Best-selling Author Pens Critically-Acclaimed, War-Themed Historical Novels That Are Inspired By His Heroic Vietnam Helicopter Days & His Family Of Veterans

When Larry Freeland served as a decorated helicopter pilot and an infantry officer with the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War, he just wanted to do his job, survive the war, and return home to pick up with his life. So do the lead characters in his powerful best-selling series of war-set works of historical fiction.

“Wars define the lives of the men and women who fight them,” says author Larry Freeland. He should know. Not only did he serve our country, but so did his father, who was an officer in the Army Air Corps/United States Air Force during World War II, and his grandfather during world War I as a doughboy. Freeland’s books call upon the many harrowing tales that he personally survived – or heard about from his family.

His newest book, Legacy Of Honor: The Patriarch, is about a doughboy fighting in World War I Europe. It is the follow-up to Chariots In The Sky, which is about a U.S. Army assault helicopter pilot trying to survive his tour of duty in Vietnam.

“In dedication to those who sacrificed their lives so that we can each enjoy freedom and liberty, I wrote these books so that we can appreciate the harrowing moments millions of veterans experience on the battlefield,” says Freeland.

“Each generation that serves, experiences combat in its unique way and then must cope with how our country treats its warriors during and after our wars. Veterans often struggle to survive upon returning home.”

About Chariots of the Sky: It is the final major offensive operation of the Vietnam War.
60 days for 750 helicopters to do battle. Who wants to be the last man killed in Vietnam?

Take a harrowing ride with dedicated combat helicopter pilot Captain Taylor St. James and his aircrew. Follow the Eagles, a Huey assault company with the 101st Airbornbe Division, through A Shau Valley, Khe Sanh, Quang Tri Province, Hue, DMZ, North Vietnam and Laos. Experience combat missions in the air, and rocket attacks and sapper in the wire on the ground.
But the North Vietnamese aren’t the only enemy. Endure an intense Army commander more interested in personal glory than the safety of his men. Add mechanical problems, bad weather, and human error--a recipe for disaster for Captain St. James and his men. This is their story.

About Legacy of Honor: The Patriarch:  A tale of courage, sacrifice, love and honor, this 20th century historical fiction saga addresses the horrors of WW1 and the challenges that military men faced upon returning including mental trauma, and physical illness in addition to the hardships of the Great Depression as well as other historical events before WWII, including the Bonus Army March of 1932 and the Little Steel Strikes of 1937.

Patriarch of the family, Sam McCormick, is a dedicated doughboy, US Army Infantryman,
serving with the Rainbow Division of the American Expeditionary Force, fighting in France
during World War I. He just wants to do his job, survive the war, and return home to pick up with his life. To do so, he and his fellow Doughboys must survive being gassed, horrific artillery
bombardments and machine gun fire as they cross "no man's land" repeatedly to attack the Huns and take their trenches. Along the way he will meet several historic figures. Sam falls in love with Marie, a French nurse, whom he meets while recovering from his war wounds. Returning home to a grateful nation, which soon forgets their sacrifices, Sam tries to assimilate back into civilian life. It is a journey full of disappointment, frustration, violence, and pride in who he is and what the men he served with accomplished during the war and later in life as they fought for justice, recognition, and each other.

Praise For His Books

Chariots in the Sky

"A worthwhile peek into the horrors of war.” — Kirkus Reviews

"There are more than enough harrowing flying scenes and firefights on the ground that will keep readers of this genre interested." — The VHPA Aviator

"A nicely written, exciting book. [The author] replays the feeling of time and place extremely well. Well worth reading. — HELICOPTER LIFE

"This fast-paced experience of war comes to life through the eyes and exploits of an Army assault helicopter pilot. This is a dramatic and exciting story that puts you right in the middle of the action." —LCDR B. Hood, USNR

"Right up there with some of the best. I loved the book! [It] really held my attention and let me visualize all of the various scenes as they unfolded." — Tony Mancini

Legacy of Honor: The Patriarch

“Freeland weaves together an exciting, action-packed, and historically accurate tale of war and romance during and after World War 1.” -- James Harvey, author of Grayton Beach Affair

“Freeland writes in nearly encyclopedic fashion as he includes background information about the World War I trenches, the history of the nursing corps, the big increase of cigarette use among American military personnel, the history of “Reveille,” and the meaning of “buying the farm,” among many other things. He also takes the reader on a 30,000-foot overview of a battle about to take place before dropping us down into the action. Freeland’s aim is for his trilogy to explore how this country treats its warriors and veterans during and after our wars. With Book One, The Patriarch, he’s off to a good start. -- Bill McCloud, Vietnam Veterans of America

"An incredible piece of historical fiction centered on Sam. a soldier, a Company First Sergeant, and finally a WW1 vet who returns to an America that does little to support those who bravely fought on its behalf. Larry has created a riveting storyline with well-developed characters that traverse the war and the historical years beyond." -- F. Michelle Jones, Retired Teacher of Creative Writing

"Crawl through the trenches of France with American infantrymen and experience the horrendous brutality of WWI warfare ... reminiscent of the carnage in Civil War battle scenes
in The Red Badge of Courage. Then follow the "doughboys" as they assimilate back into American society, often with heart-breaking and unforgettable outcomes." – Jameson Gregg, Georgia Author of the Year, IBPA Benjamin franklin Award

Nitki’s Dad is a new author, United States Marine Corps veteran, and Project Manager in the Financial industry. The values and principles instilled within him as a US Marine strengthened the foundation of his personal life and professional career and solidified his spiritual journey as a human being.

He was born into a large family in Toledo, Ohio, and grew up in Oregon, Ohio, a lakefront suburb of Toledo. He was active in sports, a friend to all he met, and became spiritually aware in his teens after a dream had opened more than his eyes, discovering its name decades later. He was “Walking the Red Road,” a spiritual path, living, balancing, and attending to his physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional well-being in creating a direct relationship with the Creator (Great Spirit, God, etc.) and doing his best to do the right thing even if it is hard at times. This spirituality saw him through a few dark times, including a few that were no longer after he wore the uniform.

He is not asking anyone to believe as he does but to understand that life is not a spectator sport. He began writing his own story for a potential significant other because he did not think he would have the emotional strength to go into the same level of detail again, but the universe, controlling the timing, had other plans. Whether you believe it or not, we are all teachers, students, and messengers who can preach a better sermon with our lives than we can with our lips.

He learned to listen to the push and pull of the universe, which has aided in his ability to help others when called upon. In writing his own story, The Warrior Within, he shares the details about the path he has traveled and hopes to continue to travel, including life lessons and some ideas to start the conversation to solve some of the problems that face this country and the world. In his second book, Dear Molly, he writes about the pieces that the universe began moving into place long before he felt the full force of that lightning strike, all of which helped clear his vision and moved him in a way that once seemed unimaginable.

Nitki’s Dad understands now more than ever that what we want may not be what we need, but in asking for what we need, we may find something we want that we never knew we wanted. He knows that it is the connections we make as spiritual beings on this human journey, be it a reason, a season, or a lifetime, that allow us to spread a little light, healing, and inspiring others by being the candle or the mirror that reflects it into the darkness for others to see a way out of their own prison. I hope you will find more than a few things that will resonate with you in these books that provide hope, strength, courage, and resolve to rise above it and live the life the Creator intended for you.
