Mark Denton Ramsey

Denton Ramsey was born in Houston, Texas, and began a passion for writing and music in the early 1990's. However, Ramsey didn't begin actively playing guitar until around 2001 when he moved to Denton, Texas; later forming a band called FleshPot, playing gigs at a local bar named Bottoms Up. Ramsey used his "band times" in Denton as an opportunity to perform some original songs for a live audience while also fine-tuning his playing skills by surrounding himself with an extremely talented group of musicians. Ramsey, who is divorced and the father of two, currently resides in Waco, Texas. In April 2016, Ramsey's solo career kicked off with the official release of his hit single, "Wanna Know How," hitting streaming music sites (Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, etc.) and YouTube. For more info on Denton or inquires about booking him for a solo acoustic gig, contact DR/PR Agency via email at DRPRAgency@gmail.com. Below is the press release for Ramsey's latest release, Wanna Know How.

Ramsey’s debut single soaring up charts on music streaming sites

Waco musician releases new hit single, Wanna Know How

Central Texas musician Denton Ramsey had no earthly idea that his music would finally hit the airwaves while living in a rusty, rugged motel room in Waco, Texas at the age of 37.

But on Friday, April 8, 2016, that dream became a reality with the official release of Ramsey’s debut single, Wanna Know How.

Originally written in 2004 while in Demopolis, Alabama and prior to his return trek to Texas, the track was written during a time of questioning and change in Ramsey’s life -- as listeners can tell through the lyrics of the song.

Twelve years later, following many collaborations with numerous artists and two and a half years after the track was mastered and ready for radio play, the song is now available on streaming sites from Spotify to iTunes, as well as from a plethora of other retailers.

Early praise for the artist and Wanna Know How range from “Tom Petty with a light grunge” to “James Blunt meets Weezer,” and Ramsey couldn't be happier.

“I'm real big on positive messages and having a positive mindset,” Ramsey said. “Some people may think I’m weird but I firmly believe that we can adjust what occurs around us based on our mentality. Music is one of those avenues to portray that positivity.”

In addition to early praises,  Wanna Know How has now topped the charts at No. 1 for Waco in the local Singer/Songwriter category on the ReverbNation site.

Humble yet clearly excited about the release being loved and praised by listeners around the globe, Ramsey made sure to give credit to the two people who worked closely with him on this track -- Trey Dieterich (instruments, arrangements, and mixing) and David Doran (track mastering).

He also thanked his family and the fans for the ever-present love and support.

"First of all, thank you beyond words for all the love and support; this has been a dream come true and I couldn't have done it without you, the fans,” Ramsey said. “Please pick up your copy of the track via pre-order or direct pay, leave a review or message me feedback, and pass the good times, good news, and good tunes on to your family and friends. I look forward to what the future holds in terms of this magnificent, mysterious, and magical little thing called music. Love you guys.”

Denton Ramsey was born in Houston, Texas on November 10, 1978. While growing up in Houston, Ramsey attended Frostwood Elementary School, Memorial Middle School and Memorial Senior High School. Denton grew up with two brothers, Hunter and Christian, and a black lab dog named Blue Bell. A majority of Ramsey’s childhood was spent at the family ranch in Fayeteville, Texas. As a die-hard sports fan since birth, Ramsey looked up to teams such as the back-to-back NBA Champion Houston Rockets and grew up loving the game of baseball and the Houston Astros. Ramsey’s passion for writing began at an early age as well, and Denton soon learned what he wanted to do with his life: become a sportswriter. During Ramsey’s senior year in high school, he was the co-editor for the Anvil (the student newspaper) after spending his first three years as a staff writer. After graduation from Memorial in May of 1997, Ramsey moved to Waco to attend school at Baylor University, where he was a sports journalism student through 2001. Ramsey’s best friend, Marco Merino, went to college at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina and helped to fuel a love and passion for a guy named Coach K and program known as Duke Basketball. Over time, that passion simmered into an addiction for Duke Hoops, and it’s an addiction Ramsey still has to this day – expressing almost daily a true love and passion for the Blue Devils. During Ramsey’s time at Baylor, he was both a sportswriter and a News Editor for the Baylor Lariat. In 2003, Ramsey moved to Denton, Texas where he began free-lance writing for the Denton Record Chronicle and the Dallas Morning News. During Ramsey’s time in the town with his name, Denton formed a band (at one time called Flesh Pot and later re-named Pill V) that performed local gigs at a bar called Bottoms Up. Ramsey was the rhythm guitar player as well as the lead singer for the band. After Denton’s brother, Hunter, was married in August 2004 in the U.S Virgin Islands, Ramsey moved from Denton, Texas to Demopolis, Alabama to begin his first full-time journalism job as the Sports Editor for the Demopolis Times. During Ramsey’s tenure as the Sports Editor in Demopolis, Denton covered two state championship teams (DHS football and baseball) as well as a Final Four Lady Tigers basketball team. In late May 2005, Ramsey moved from Alabama back to his home state, making a trek from Demopolis to Alpine in deep West Texas. Ramsey began his job as a full-time writer for the Alpine Avalanche in June of 2005, covering everything from commissioners court to little league baseball – but the main reason Ramsey was brought aboard was for extended sports coverage. Ramsey covered Alpine Bucks and Lady Bucks sports relentlessly during his time with the Avalanche and he also met his future wife, Rachel, while working for the newspaper. In June of 2006, Ramsey and his fiance moved to Little Elm, Texas where Denton would begin his new job working for Star Community Newspapers as the Sports Editor for the Plano Star Courier and the Allen American. In late August of 2006, Denton joined the staff of Today Newspapers as the Sports Editor for the Grand Prairie Today, where the first issue hit the streets on Sept. 7, 2006. Denton and Rachel were married on November 16, 2006; their baby girl, Isabel, was born on March 25, 2007 (her actual due-date). In February 2007, Denton rejoined Granite Publications as the Managing Editor for The Marlin Democrat – remaining in that position until early February 2008. Shortly thereafter, Denton picked up a stringer sports writer assignment for CBS-owned CSTV.com, live blogging the Kansas at Texas game on Feb. 11, 2008 in Austin. Denton is now a free-lance sports writer and is currently the Big 12 Fans Baylor Correspondent, covering all things Baylor (from Scott Drew and the Bears Basketball team to Steve Smith and the BU Baseball team). In May 2008, Denton and his family moved from Marlin to Waco, making the short trek up Highway 6 as Ramsey enrolled for classes beginning in Fall 2008 at Baylor University. Their son, Charlie, was born on November 12, 2009. In April 2016, Ramsey's solo music career took off with the release of his hit single, "Wanna Know How." Ramsey, who is now divorced, lives in Waco, Texas; while his kids live with his ex-wife in Robinson, Texas. Denton currently works for Aramark as a barista for Starbucks @ Moody Library on the campus of Baylor University (while still pursuing his solo music career as a hobby of pure passion) and is also a freelance journalist and the owner/public relations director for DR/PR Agency. He may be reached via e-mail at drpragency@gmail.com.

Dr Marilyn Joyce

In 1985, when she was at the peak of her career and feeling like she had achieved the ultimate success, Dr. Marilyn Joyce was diagnosed with melanoma. She was shocked to discover how serious that illness was, and as if that wasn't enough, a week out of hospital, she was rushed back in again with stage four uterine cancer. She was only 35 years old! Shocked and dismayed, she experienced what most advanced cancer patients do--denial, anger, resentment, frustration, and feeling like a victim. After she passed the initial shock of the diagnosis, she tried everything she could in search of a magic bullet. Yet four years later, she was in a wheelchair at 88 pounds, and according to doctors, with only a week-and-a-half to live.

Completely spent, she had no energy for anything...including walking! And as if the cancer itself wasn't enough, the stress and anxiety of searching for--and trying--every new treatment available was definitely taking its toll! She was stressed out, tired out, frustrated, anxious and depressed...and in constant pain.

At that point the miracles began... With her finances low and not having eaten solid foods for months, she attended a home show that promoted a Vita Mix machine, introducing her to cantaloupe ice--seeds and all. From that moment, her journey back to health began, first with the inclusion of fruits, then adding in vegetables, and eventually tofu, soy, and whole grains - in other words whole foods in whole food forms - back-to-basics nutrition. The best part: almost all of recipes only took 5 minutes to prepare!

At the same time she attended a Dr Bernie Siegel event, where she learned about the power of "gratitude." He spoke on that universal law that what we focus on expands. So Marilyn began refocusing her life with 5 minute gratitude breaks. And her life began to change.

Since recovering from those challenging cancer years, she has poured her heart and soul into learning everything she can about creating energy and vitality in only 5-minute segments throughout the day - often the only time a cancer patient, caregiver or healer has available at any given moment. Now after 27 years, Marilyn is one of the world's leading experts on INSTANT E.N.E.R.G.Y.™: The 5 Keys to Unlimited Energy & Vitality!

Her book, INSTANT E.N.E.R.G.Y.™ offers:

The three best and quickest ways to instantly relax your body, and your mind Insider Strategies for preparing delicious, mouth-watering, yet simple, meals in 5 minutes How to avoid the "worry and anxiety" trap when everything around you looks pretty dim The latest trends in how our minds influence whether or not we will create sustained energy, vitality and great health Instantly improve your attitude, shifting you from the helpless victim to the empowered victor Two ways to instantly overcome overwhelming stress and extreme fatigue A look at the myth that says a person must exercise for a minimum of 30 minutes to get any benefits and why it's untrue.
USA

For more than 40 years, Dr. Marilyn Joyce, a Registered Dietitian, with her doctorate in Psychology and Biochemistry and Human Nutrition, has been inspiring audiences around the world as a motivational and inspirational keynote speaker, seminar leader, and trainer. She has been the featured guest on Doctor to Doctor, Leeza, Montel Williams, Maury Povich, PBS, and Jenny Jones.  Dr Joyce is the author of the best-selling books, 5 Minutes to Health, I Can't Believe It's Tofu! and her much sought-after book, INSTANT E.N.E.R.G.Y.™: The 5 Keys to Unlimited Energy & Vitality! The former Director of Nutrition for the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Dr. Joyce is a five-time cancer survivor - now a 27+ year thriver. She speaks to such organizations as Xerox, the FBI, Girl Scouts, Boeing, UCLA, Scripps Medical Center, Sloan-Kettering, The American Cancer Society, the Wellness Community Centers and Peak Potentials (now New Peaks).

Chuck Ochelli

ABOUT CHUCK OCHELLI

In the late 1980’s Chuck Ochelli was a high school student and a muscian, generally fascinated with American History, particularly educating himself on the circumstances surrounding the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

In the 1990’s, Chuck progressively engaged in J.F.K. research and investigations revolving around many deep political figures and events. His contributions and participation in support of various authors and producers of media projects as an interviewer, analyst and research assistant coupled with having a life-long appreciation for the medium of talk radio evolved into active correspondence with various alternative media figures.

In 2008 while interacting with many talk show hosts and producers of New Media, he was encouraged to create “The Blind J.F.K. Researcher” channel on You-Tube.  This platform was used to display his extensive knowledge of the assassination of our 35th President, despite having the physical handicap of limited vision, highlighting the philosophy that “Even a blind man can see a conspiracy”.

The Ochelli Effect Podcast launched in late 2013 as an outlet for independent critical analysis of historical controversies, current geo-politics, social issues, media, breaking news and literature from Chuck’s perspective.  After appearing as a guest and caller on multiple live internet broadcasts for many previous years and receiving encouragement from other talk show hosts, The Ochelli Effect debuted as a regularly scheduled, unscripted interview program. The overall objective via the “Revelation of Conversation” concept is to incite education regarding the assassinations of the 60’s, the alleged “War on Terror”, Esoteric Psychology, the fictional “Drug Wars”, Spirituality, the Incremental erosion of freedoms in post 9/11 America and Main Stream Media Manipulation promoting mass ignorance.

Hundreds of guests have participated on The Ochelli Effect. A microcasm of alumni include Esai Morales, G. Edward Griffin, Scott Enyart, Clyde Lewis, Joan Mellen, Abraham Bolden, John Barbour, H.P. Alberelli, Frank Gregory Ford, Meria Heller, Daniel Louis Crumpton, Rebekah Roth, Laura Kohl and Dr. Edward Group III.

The unique perspectives of the host, the guests and the audience together converge to invoke the enthralling phenomenon that is THE OCHELLI EFFECT.

Karma Ambassador Darlene Tipton
Sometimes it seems like the world is caught in an endless cycle of acrimony and retribution. From wars and terrorist attacks to petty slights and insults that explode into full-blown disputes and destroy relationships, bad behavior seems to reign. Yet you don't have to look far to find people who practice kindness and intentionally work to sow peace, friendship and goodwill. And who want to make sure that those values are elevated in a challenging world.

That's the intention of Darlene and Ken Tipton, aka "Karma Dar" and "Karma Ken." The California couple created AmazingKarma.comaround the simple non-religious concept of "What goes around, comes around."

Marketing surveys show that over 180 million Americans believe in the concept of Karma. 67% of women, 46% of men, and 73% of the LGBT community are true believers.

The Tipton's AmazingKarma.com movement is brought forth through their fun and purposeful website, social network, app and Karma Cards and Karma Coins.
AmazingKarma.com acknowledges acts of kindness, courtesy, and honesty, through the giving of Green Karma Cards. AmazingKarma.com exposes acts of unkindness, discourtesy, and dishonesty, through the giving of Red Karma Cards.
It is through providing these cards to others that Karma is passed along and rewarded -- or brought to someone's conscious awareness.

Here's how this works: Even though the two types of Karma Cards are given for different reasons, BOTH types of Karma Cards are treated the same way when they are registered in the registrant's free account. When a Karma Card is registered, it generates a positive Karma Point for that person and ALSO for EVERY person who registered the same Karma Card in the past. When someone receives and registers a Red Karma Card, it is assumed the person has "owned their actions" and taken personal responsibility for their bad behavior. If they haven't, then Karma WILL pay them a visit.

And here's the best part: As long as the Green or Red Karma Cards keep being passed on, the UNLIMITED Karma Points earned by the original Karma Card holder are redeemable as Karma Cash toward donations to registered charities or for any consumer Gift Cards. The beautiful Karma Coins the Tipton's have designed also serve the same purpose. Increase your Karma Points to boost your Karma Quotient!

The AmazingKarma website--where cards can be obtained for free during an introductory period--is designed to show one's accumulation of good Karma, inspire people to live a life worthy of attracting more positive Karma, create conversation on the subject and be a hub of all things Karmic.

Darlene and Ken came up with the idea for AmazingKarma.com from a Karma Point game their family plays to ensure members strive for more compassionate and loving actions. A child abuse survivor, breast cancer victor and five-time Jeopardy Champion, Darlene has a long career in radio, television and film that includes working as a Hollywood studio executive and award-winning independent producer. Ken has an equally long history of entrepreneurship and, more recently, movie producing. His movie, HEART of the BEHOLDER, was based on his family's true story and won five Best Feature Film awards. Darlene and Ken married in 2005 and founded Amazing Karma to acknowledge good behavior while exposing bad behavior that we all enable.

Give your listeners a fun and freewheeling interview on what they can all do to garner Karma points in life. Darlene will take the helm on your show to captain the Karma Conversation on such topics as:
Sow What You Want to Reap: The Universal Law of Karma Repaying Bad with Good: The Power of Forgiveness How We Win by Paying it Forward Coping with the Ups and Downs of the Entrepreneurial Life Finding and Following Your Passion Volunteering: The Ultimate in Good Karma Teaching Kids and Grandkids to Care for Others

To book Darlene on your show, please send an email with the name of the show, your contact information, a proposed date and time, and the calling details.

HD MOTYL

Writer/director of rodeo documentary “AMERICAN RODEO : A COWBOY CHRISTMAS” (now on VOD)

Highly-anticipated documentary American Rodeo : A Cowboy Christmas is now on VOD.

The film is set in the two weeks leading up to the Fourth of July, when there are over 90 rodeos across 35 states. In hopes of grabbing their share of rodeo fortune and fame, the men drive hundreds of miles, day and night, to get to the next run and another seconds-long chance at winning, even as they risk breaking bones, overdrawing bank accounts, and sacrificing personal relationships.

Writer-Director H.D Motyl and his production crew hit the road with the cowboys in the summer of 2009, and traveled well over 2000 miles to capture them at 18 rodeos in their event of steer wrestling.  “There are a lot of rodeos in this three week period–and a lot with big purses,” Motyl explained.  “So the cowboys can win a lot of money in a short amount of time.  And that’s how this circuit of rodeos became known informally as Cowboy Christmas.”  The cowboys who win the most money (the top 15) by the end of the rodeo season in October go the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.  “I was fascinated by the idea,” Motyl continued, “of these men putting everything in their lives aside for three weeks and hitting the road to rodeo.”

H.D. Motyl is an Associate Professor at Southern Illinois University Carbondale where he teaches Media Production and Writing for TV.  He is also a media maker and his feature-length documentary about professional rodeo, Cowboy Christmas, won Best Feature Documentary at the 2013 Madrid International Film Festival and Best of the Festival at 2014 BEA Festival of Media Arts, in Las Vegas. His experimental video Nudes Descending a Staircase #2 recently screened at MADATAC04 in Madrid and at the 8th Directors Lounge Festival in Berlin.

Motyl has also produced, directed and written episodes for non-fiction series on The History Channel (“Conspiracy?”), National Geographic Channel (“The Final Report”) and A&E (“American Justice.”) For the home video and educational markets, he produced, wrote and directed such diverse work as the best-selling Image of an Assassination: A New Look at the Zapruder Film, The Journey of Amistad, John Glenn: An American Legend and the award-winning Show & Tell series of children’s videos. One of Motyl’s short films, Token of Love, has the dubious distinction of being banned in Japan. Outside of Japan, the film has had numerous domestic and international screenings. Other award-winning work, including Memorial, Oh Michael/Oh Jesus, and Messages from Jeanne, has been screened in festivals worldwide. A short animation My Art is Not Dead, for which Motyl performed the narration, is being well-received on the festival circuit.

Currently, Motyl is writing Saturn Return, a film about a man who, as he turns 30, is forced to deal with three relationships, with each exploring a different kind of love: fraternal, romantic, and filial. H.D. is also working on a feature script titled Three Rivers, about a woman, time travel and the consequences of choices; it takes place on an island in the middle of the Ohio River.

Originally from Pittsburgh, he was graduated from Penn State University with a B.A. in English and holds an M.F.A from Northwestern University in Film/Video Production and Screenwriting.

Jai Jamison

Director Jai Jamison’s TRI has been winning awards all cross the country. The film, which recently walked away with the top prize at the Northern Virginia International Film & Music Festival, is currently on a festival run.

In addition to winning Film of the Year at the NOVA Film Festival, Jai Jamison’s inspiring drama snared the NOVA Award, Best Actress (Jensen Jacobs), Best Family / Faith Based Film, and Best Inspirational Film.

TRI was also a Runner Up for Best Cinematography (Feature Film) and Best Editing (Feature Film). The film also recently won the Indie Spirit Best Story Line Award from the Boston International Film Festival and was included in the DGA's Director's Finder Series in New York City.

TRI is an inspiring, emotionally-charged drama about a medical technician with a history of not finishing things who is inspired by a cancer patient to sign up for her first Triathlon.  The film’s potent garland of performers includes Jensen Jacobs and legendary TV star Tim Reid.

Natalie (Award-winning actress Jensen Jacobs), an ultrasound tech with a history of not finishing things, is inspired by a cancer patient to sign up for a Triathlon. Natalie is introduced to the strange (and aerodynamic) world of triathletes and meets a colorful cast of characters asshe trains for the Nation’s Triathlon. With the support of her new teammates, she digs deep to discover just how far she can push her mind and body.

TRI is the first scripted feature narrative about triathlons that has been developed for theatrical release. Triathlon is the fastest growing endurance sport in the world and was the fastest growing of all sports in the UK in 2014. There are over 600,000 athletes registered with USA Triathlon, and over 3.2 million worldwide.

Although the film uses triathlon as a backdrop, the niche target market for the film is female runners. Of the roughly 20 million finishers of running events in 2014, 60 percent were women.

The concept of TRI is to raise awareness and hope for those who are seeking compassion or understanding while dealing with cancer as a caregiver, a patient and a survivor.

The writing team for TRI includes a two time Ironman finisher and professional triathlon coach who has led cancer awareness programs; a cancer survivor; and, an award winning screenwriter who has lost loved ones to cancer.

Jensen Jacobs, Shawn Pelofsky, Walker Hays, Kelly Spitko, Kenneth Simmons, Chris Dyer, Jaylen Moore, Chris Williams, and Tim Reid star in a Jai Jamison film, written by Theodore Adams III, Monica Lee Bellais and Jai Jamison. The Executive Producers include Kimberly Skyrme, Regional Casting Director for House of Cards, and Russell Williams II, a two time Academy Award winner.

Interviews available with Jamison, star Jensen Jacobs and more.

Jai Jamison directs the award-winning sports drama TRI, which is currrently screening all around the U.S.
