JO KRASEVICH

Jo learned to play guitar by ear, listening to Neil Young albums, and devouring her older brother’s record collection. She bought her first guitar from another girl when she was 16. As Jo tells it, “The girl needed the cash. I needed the guitar. Two years later I sold it for a plane ticket to Lake Louise. I had heard that Neil Young worked there. I wanted the whole experience.”

Born in Detroit to a French Canadian mother and a Yugoslavian father, Jo spent much of her youth traveling the world, soaking up the diverse characters and emotions that would go on to form her unique musical voice. She now calls Los Angeles home.

Her first album, Merry-Go-Round, is a carousel of euphoric and melancholic songs – at times deep, often dreamy, but always profoundly moving. Two great musicians accompany her on the album: Doug Pettitbone (Tracy Chapman, Jewel, Ray Lamontange, Lucinda Williams) and Daniel Lanois (Bob Dylan, U2).

Raw, understated, and from the heart, Jo is an astoundingly honest, ethereal singer in the tradition of Norah Jones and Elliott Smith. She touches that sacred spot in her audience – where unexpressed feelings and truths live – and sets those emotions free.

Michael Sage Hider graduated from the University of Cincinnati (OH) with a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering. Having been in the Air Force ROTC Program, he was commissioned into the United States Air Force as a Second Lieutenant. Hider was selected as part of a very elite group of engineers to participate in underground nuclear testing at the Nevada Test Site, performing tests which required the detonation of low yield atomic bombs.

After three years of active duty and some reserve time, he was Honorably Discharge from the Air Force with the rank of Captain

Hider entered the Seminary for a period of time where he delved into the matters of Theology, Philosophy, Psychology, Latin, and Greek. It was during this scrutiny that he conceived of the concept of shaping one’s life by what he calls Good Life Truths, an integral component of the discipline of possessing Enduring Peace of Mind, the greatest treasure in the world.

After leaving the Seminary, Hider enrolled into the Master of Arts Program at the University of Toledo (OH), where he majored in Philosophy with a strong minor in Psychology. From these studies evolved the technique he calls, “The Art of Thought Dwelling to Obtain and Maintain Enduring Peace of Mind.” Based on that effort, he was awarded an M.A. Degree in Philosophy with a strong minor in Psychology, graduating at the top of his class.

Seeking more personal freedom, he entered Law School at Santa Clara University (CA). He graduated with a Juris Doctor degree. After being a very successful trial attorney for eleven years, he ran for and was elected a California Superior Court Judge.

During his tenure as a California Superior Court Judge, he presided over a plethora of murder cases, medical malpractice cases, legal malpractice cases, large personal injury cases, multimillion dollar breach of contract suits, etc.

On several occasions, he was elected by his peers as Presiding Judge of the Court. He received numerous awards and honors including being selected as the 2010 Judicial Officer of the Year by the Southwest Riverside County Bar Association, an award he very much cherishes.

Outside the Court, Hider taught courses in science, philosophy, and/or law at Merced Community College, Chapman College, and the University of San Francisco Master’s Program.

It was during his tenure as a judge, and using many anecdotes from the courtroom that he authored his highly acclaimed book, “Spiritual Healing-Making Peace with Your Past,” now in its second printing by Tate Publishing.

After thirty years on the Bench, Hider recently retired and now spends his time as a sought-after motivational speaker promoting his book which sets forth the principle of “The Art of Thought Dwelling to Obtain and Maintain Enduring Peace of Mind.” Hider’s presentations and his book have assisted innumerable lost and troubled souls, those crushed by life’s vicissitudes, to obtain and maintain Enduring Peace of Mind. His book provides Healing Steps for those people who are agonizing over what that despicable person did to them, the stupid things they did for which they cannot forgive themselves, and what Fate did to them. He delights in receiving testimonials and thanks from people who, using his methodology, return from a state of pain to a state of total contentment, serenity, and Enduring Peace of Mind

Guest Biography:

Helen Leatham is an Australian Registered Nurse who has worked around the world with love and integrity, to bear witness and stand with her fellow man. Her passion, though, is dying and with her nursing work the only way she could do it for so long in any western world hospital was to ask God to let her look after someone who needs her to help to have a discussion about their death. Her goal is always to help each person face their death without fear and not be trapped on the other side. This also means supporting the family to let go and guiding patient and family through the dying process.

Helen has also dedicated years to help improve conditions in some of the most devastated regions of the globe. After serving in an Australian aboriginal setting, Helen moved quickly to the 'front lines' with Médecins sans Frontières (MSF) in Afghanistan, Sudan and Nepal. Helen lived and worked in areas afflicted with constant warfare, desperate privation, and extreme heat. Malnutrition and dehydration were among the most common maladies affecting her patients, many of whom were newborns.
