Shake It Off Leadership-

Achieving Success Through the Eyes of Our Labels

By Betsy Cerulo

Who Defines You? You or Others? Can You Choose Your Labels and Use Them to Empower Yourself and Your Business? YES! Betsy Cerulo Shows You How!

Are you ready to stop allowing others’ perceptions and labels of you limit what you can accomplish? Have you had enough of the outright or subtle undermining of your career or self-esteem by the ways people “categorize” you or the way you categorize yourself?

Betsy Cerulo had her fill, and so she stepped up to claim her labels and make them her fuel for greater success!

And in her new book Shake It Off Leadership—Achieving Success Through the Eyes of Our Labels, she will gift you with the guidance on how she did it…and how it can transform your life and your business!

Betsy felt the sting of disempowering external perceptions early. Her mother made no effort to hide she favored the boys in the family over the girls, and that they could have nearly unlimited freedom, but the females had to live according to a specific standard. And then, in college, when she came out, after falling for one of her classmates, she began to experience the sting of unkind and discriminating labels. In business, as she tried to rise as a young executive search professional, she found her way blocked and her salary less simply because she was ”a woman.”

But with skill and determination, she built a hugely successful boutique professional staffing and executive search firm. AdNet/AccountNet, Advocates for Workplace Excellence and Equity. But along the way, she decided to throw off the limitations of those labels, embrace those she was proud of, and choose the labels that she wanted to define her!

Betsy won’t put up with “the nonsense” she hears come out of the mouth of those who attempt to diminish women, the LGBTQ+ community and racially diverse people. She challenges them.

Instead of suffering the insulting brand of dyke or lesbian with a sneer, she decided to make her sexuality a proud hallmark of her success, attaining the first government 8A certification based on Gender and LGBT discrimination. This allows a company to bid for government contracts with less competition. Then, she went on to co-found the Maryland LGBT Chamber of Commerce and the Maryland LGBT Foundation, built it into a robust organization that attracted many mainstream sponsors. As a woman-owned business, she fought the discrimination of banks that refused loans, and found those that would treat her with respect.

Betsy learned how to shake-off the slights, disappointments and roadblocks in building a successful business—not just the issues related to discrimination, but with all of the gumption, wisdom and courage it takes to create a thriving enterprise, with quality, happy, engaged staff and curation of clients that are an asset to the business. She’s discerned a style of SKAKE IT OFF LEADERSHIP, that will empower any leader with the skills, wisdom and strength to successfully create or grow a business, while insuring balance and personal fulfillment.

Each chapter in Shake It Off Leadership provides lessens, new perspectives and an enriching Shake It Off tip at the end. Betsy’s personal story is woven throughout as an inspiration for those who have struggled with the labels that have disempowered them.

Your listeners will find astute insights on every page. Every business can benefit from leader who stands in her, his or their strength -- and who can spot and act on strengthening the weaknesses within themselves and their company—just as Betsy Cerulo has done.

The Gift of Shift

Discover the Key Within to Unlock Your Best Life

By Ann Papayoti (with Tracey MacDonald)

The Gifts Just Keep on Coming…

You Can Welcome Them Or Resist!

Recognizing and Embracing the Elegantly Wrapped Gift of Change and Adaptability Hidden in the Hardship and Challenge

Ann Papayoti has endured some of life’s most brutal blows—her college best friend deliberately stealing her high school sweetheart; the loss of an infant child just shortly after he was thought to be out of danger, a belligerent and abusive husband, a child born with epilepsy and other neurological disorders, a family suicide, being bitten by a poisonous snake that resulted in months of chronic illness before being diagnosed, relinquishing a cherished foster teen whose actions threatened Ann’s family, and much more…

And despite them all, Ann found the gift hidden within each of these experiences. The gift of choice in how to respond to the challenge.

In her new book, The Gift of Shift: Discover the Key Within to Unlock Your Best Life, written with fellow life coach Tracey MacDonald, Ann uses many of these experiences to show how one can open that gift lovingly. Instead of freezing up, becoming resistant or giving in to depression, resignation or other unhealthy emotions, one can choose a better, more life- affirming, adaptable approach that can lead to new possibilities and a better pathway forward.

Using “Gift” as the central theme of the book and each individual chapter, Ann relays incidences in her life that tested her at the deepest level, and how she rewrote her story to find the nugget of truth that provided hope, healing, resolve and wisdom.

Cleverly written, with charm and heart, the chapters include The Gift of a Band-Aid, The Gift of Charlie Brown,The Gift of Grits, The Gift of Buoyancy, and more. As she states, the gift of the book itself, is to give readers “a clearer picture on how to make shift happen for yourself. It starts with becoming aware of your thoughts, feelings and actions, and in time, the key to help you unlock a lighter, happier, and freer version of yourself.”

Each chapter includes questions the reader can ask her or himself to explore a parallel experience or lesson learned, and then a place to write their own story for reexamination, under the new light of the Gift of Shift. The book is written as a guide to make it easy to CHOOSE CHANGE!

Ann is an international life, leadership and relationship coach. She is an International Coach Federation Accredited Professional Certified Coach, and a member of the Association of Integrative Psychology. Dedicated to waking people up to living their best life by helping them untangle from their past, Ann further helps them align with their values and connect to their higher purpose. Ann inspires people by sharing her personal experiences of loss, transition and triumph. Ann is especially known for the personal and compassionate way she guides people to their own insights and growth.

The Gift of Shift is Ann’s gift to those who are struggling with life’s unforeseen consequences, and fear what is ahead. She shows how easy change can be once you embrace the gift within the challenge, and set your course for a lighter heart, an alternative emotion, and a surrender within the moment.

Deborah Grayson Riegel
Do any of these sound familiar when you think about asking someone for help?

“I don’t want to bother people.”
“If I ask for help, I will look weak.”
“Nobody will do it the way I would do it.”
“Everyone’s dealing with their own stuff, too.”
“I’m afraid there will be strings attached to the help…”

If so, then we want to talk to you (and we would love to you talk to us!)

Who is “us” — and why should we talk?

Well, my daughter Sophie, a junior at Duke University, and I just wrote a book that became an Amazon #1 bestseller!

We are both mental health advocates — and we both live with mental illness -- and we are thrilled that Go To Help: 31 Strategies to Offer, Ask for, and Accept Help is an official:

#1 Amazon Overall Bestseller in Organizational Change
#1 New Release in Business Decision Making
#1 New Release in Workplace Behavior
#1 New Release in Business Mentoring and Coaching

(And this is our SECOND book collaboration about mental health. Our first was Overcoming Overthinking: 36 Ways to Tame Anxiety for Work, School, and Life).

We think this is great news for professionals, parents, and partners who feel like asking for help from friends, family, and colleagues can be embarrassing and/or challenging.

Sophie and I are no exception.

I personally struggled with obsessive-compulsive disorder for decades, avoiding going to see a psychiatrist for years because I didn’t want to take medication. So I told myself, “I can live with this, it’s no big deal.” And yes, I could live with it and did live with it for years. But it wasn’t until my OCD became more difficult to live with than any imagined (or real) side effects of medication that I finally sought the help I needed (and I am thankful every single day that I asked for help.)

But I didn’t ask for help because I was scared of the solution. (This is what’s known as “solution aversion”)

Sophie and I both realized that we had to get better at asking for and accepting help. And if we could learn to do it, others could as well.

In our book, we discuss multiple reasons why people don’t ask for help at work, at school, or from friends and family, including the ones we listed up top.=
And the costs of NOT asking for help are high — we are overworked, our mental health and physical health suffers, we can lose credibility and reputation when our work suffers as a result, and there are relationship costs. If I knew you needed help and that you didn’t ask me, I would feel confused and hurt!

In our book, we teach professionals, parents, and partners:
That asking for help is a mindset and a skillset that can be learned What kind of help isn’t helpful (despite your best intentions) How to become “help fluent” so that you have a wide range helpful options to choose from (see the attached postcard for the strategies) How to help other people become better at asking for help How to help someone who doesn’t want your help
I hope this is as interesting and timely to you as it is to us.

Jan Edwards

Over the past two years, there has been a massive increase in online child enticement and exploitation, along with teen depression, self-harm, and suicide. Children are isolated, lonely, afraid, and looking for a connection with others – predators know this and are intentionally targeting children everywhere!

Consider these numbers: 10, 8, 98 and 21

• 10 is the average age of the child being groomed online

• 8 is the number of days a predator can groom and recruit a  child into sending nudes or leaving home to meet a stranger

• 98 is the percent increase in child online exploitation between 2020 and 2021

• 21.7 million reports of child sexual exploitation made to the CyberTipline in 2020 included 65.4 million images, videos, and other files.

Now more than ever children are at risk for online child exploitation and they do not even have to leave home for it to happen. Any mobile app with a chat feature can put a child at risk. Nor is this isolated to children with lower incomes. Any child can be targeted!

There are many organizations that help recover children from forced slavery, there are fewer that are focused on the exploitation of children.

Paving the Way Foundation has taken on this mission—in a big way!

Headed by founder Jan Edwards, Paving the Way Foundation is committed to empowering communities to be a fierce disruption in the cycle of child trafficking and online exploitation through highly engaging and empowering educational programs. Starting with its Award-Winning Film, Trapped in the Trade, the organization takes the audience through one girl’s journey of being targeted, groomed, recruited, and trapped into being sold for sex. This short film does not have a happy ending, leaving the audience a little raw with hearts and eyes wide open to what they can do to prevent exploitation. The sequel is on the way to take the viewer inside how trafficking rings operate; along with an inside look at how law enforcement, victim advocates, and NGOs work together to safely recover victims who are ready to leave their life.

But more than this, Jan is spearheading a national information campaign with schools, parents, teens in middle and high schools, the media, and other critical organizations on how to spot, resist and report perpetrators—how NOT to get ensnared!

As part of Paving The Ways’ mission, Jan does monthly Parent Tech Talks to cover a variety of topics parents need to know - - and offers tools to start those difficult conversations with their kids on this topic. Because of the current environment, she’s designing an interactive book for parents to use with their teens to open up effective communication, so they feel taken care of, heard, and protected. Being a teenager is a challenge and most parents do not fully understand what their kids are dealing with both at school and online. Based on the films, this interactive book will have real stories, from survivors, from law enforcement about ways to stay safe and families who have lived experience, either as a victim or parent of a victim. Each section will give the family an opportunity to discuss what happened in that chapter with the characters, speculate on why they are doing what they are doing, and do the critical thinking on what actions they might take in those situations.  Jan Edwards spent more than 25 years as an executive in sales and marketing working with organizations like Time Warner, Bright House, the United Nations, and other international groups, before being invited on a mission to Ethiopia to help orphaned and endangered children. It was seeing two young girls being shepherded by two older men, that she was introduced to modern-day slavery. She came home and began educating herself on the extent of what was transpiring in her own country. Jan was moved to action, knowing her professional skills could be applied as a leader, educator to protect children, and end child sex trafficking. Jan has been featured in Huffington Post, Marie Claire UK, NBC, and iHeart Radio as an expert in prevention. Jan was awarded Humanitarian of the Year and Community Impact Leader of the Year. Trapped in the Trade was also featured on CNN.

Paving the Way, which has directly reached more than 16,000 children and parents in the past four years, launched Lights on for Children, a one-day annual awareness campaign that asks families to install a blue light bulb on their porchlight to raise awareness and shine a light in the dark of this heinous crime.

For many years, Jan fought the myths that trafficking was an “over there’ issue. She is a force to be reckoned with regarding the urgency of this topic, however, with the recent headline revelations focused on Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and R.  Kelly there is a renewed eagerness to welcome Jan and Paving the Way to deliver this vital message to schools, churches, and youth-based organizations. To know more, go to www.pavingthewayfoundation.org and www.trappedfilm.com

If you would like your audience an opportunity to learn what they need to know as a parent, teen, educator, or someone who wants to help, interview Jan Edwards. Please send an email with the name of the show, your contact information, a proposed date and time, and the call-in details. She is an engaging, straightforward, and knowledgeable influencer on this topic. Audiences have praised the segments she’s been on as informative and helpful.

Brent Michael Phillips

The Formula for Miracles: Where Science Reveals the Secrets of Spirit

In volume two of his new three book series, Amazon.com #1 best-selling author Brent Michael Phillips digs deep into the nature of science to discover how we can actually explain phenomena such as miraculous healings, higher consciousness, and profound life transformations.

To most people, mystical phenomena such as instant healing, intuition, the Law of Attraction, and experiences of higher consciousness such as seeing energy and auras are either considered total nonsense, or are reserved for only a few special and naturally talented individuals.

However, the truth is that there is a simple scientific basis underlying energy healing, mind power, and the ascension of consciousness. Quite simply, what we call a “miracle” is just any phenomena which can’t be explained by our current level of science and technology.

Author, healer, and MIT-trained engineer Brent Michael Phillips has dedicated his scientific training and engineering experience to discovering and demystifying the science behind instant healings, the Law of Attraction, higher consciousness, and even Enlightenment.

By spending many years studying with the world’s best healers, psychics, gurus, masters, and spiritual teachers, he has slowly reverse engineered and figured out exactly what they are doing!

His three-book series The Formula for Miracles: Where Science Reveals the Secrets of Spirit shares the “Formula for Miracles” as a simple set of powerful but simple processes that anybody can learn quickly and easily to perform instant healings, subconscious clearing,

manifestation, and facilitate profound life transformations, even unlocking the shortcuts to Enlightenment.

In his private healing practice, Brent has used the “Formula for Miracles” technology to facilitate over 1,900 genuine miraculous instant healings on all manners of life challenges, including instantly healing many different diseases and physical disorders (including chronic pain and serious and life-threatening illnesses such as cancer and HIV), conquering mood disorders (such as depression, addiction, and emotional eating), finding love, making more money, discovering one’s purpose, and even the ascension of consciousness towards Enlightenment. As proof, you will find literally hundreds of testimonials on his web site from people who have had their lives transformed by his work.

Even more importantly, his students have learned and used these exact same techniques to transform lives and perform their own amazing healings; quite simply, every person who learns and uses the system is guaranteed to see miracles happen.

The way Brent explains it and teaches it, energy healing, mind power, and higher consciousness things that are easy to understand and use for everybody; there is no special talent or training required!

In fact, because Brent had no natural talent for healing or intuition, he had to learn everything step by step by reverse engineering the masters. As a result, he can train his students to quickly become master healers, no matter what their background or natural talent.

Because he wants to share this knowledge with the people who need it, Brent is making the first volume of this series completely free at http://www.awakeningdynamics.com

Brent Michael Phillips is a most unlikely healer! He grew up fascinated by computers and technology and attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he graduated at the top of his class with Phi Beta Kappa honors and received both a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in Computer Science and Engineering. He was admitted to the PhD program and was pursuing his doctorate at the MIT Laboratory for Computer Science, researching advanced Internet technologies, when the Internet hit the mainstream in the mid 1990s.

Brent left the MIT PhD program in 1995 to be a founding partner in the Jamison/Gold Interactive Agency, a high-end Web design firm that did projects for Fortune 500 clients including Sony, Nissan Motors, and Disneyland. He also founded video game developer Lyra Studios in 1996, where he was the primary designer, architect, and author of the revolutionary online game, the world’s true “metaverse”: a real-time, 3D, persistent state, massively multiplayer role playing game. Both companies grew and prospered under Brent, until his obsessive and driven work habits caught up to him.

The strain of bootstrapping two companies proved to be too much for his body; the non-stop 100-hour work weeks left Brent was devastated by crippling repetitive stress injuries, leaving him in constant pain and unable to work. After years of failed therapies and medical interventions, doctors put him on permanent disability and gave him no hope of recovery. Over the course of several years he tried all manner of conventional and alternative treatments, including surgery, physical therapy, and healers, but nothing worked. Desperate to recover his life, he

agreed to a risky experimental surgery that left his right arm completely frozen at the elbow.

Four months and another surgery later, with his arm still paralyzed, Brent tried subconscious clearing with energy healing. Miraculously, his frozen arm healed in an instant in just one session! Brent was transformed by this experience - truly a miracle - and dedicated himself to mastering the art of energy healing and discovering its underlying scientific principles. Brent founded Science Meets Spirit, Inc. to allow him to share this amazing life-transforming power with the world.

Brent has been a full-time author, healer, elite success coach, and spiritual teacher since 2004, and he has helped many thousands of clients and students around the world. He has also written several books on healing and mind power, taught hundreds of workshops, and performed over 25,000 private sessions resulting in well over 1900 miraculous instant healings hundreds on problems as diverse as HIV, asthma, cancer, childhood abuse, allergies, depression, anxiety, back pain, poverty, and many other injuries and illnesses (including many “incurable” conditions).

He has been a frequent guest on both local and national radio and TV, and has consistently been one of the most popular and in-demand guests for self-improvement, energy healing, and Law of Attraction podcasts and tele-summits.

He has synthesized the “best of the best” of his person experience along with what he has learned from many wonderful systems and masters to create the Awakening Dynamics system and the patent-pending Formula for Miracles® technology.

What If Jesus Were A Coach?

New Book Offers Refreshing Alternative to Organized Religion

What if Jesus Were a Coach provides a new perspective on spirituality to inspire everyone to connect with a higher power.

Stafford, TX, Jan. 8, 2022 — Texas Life Coach Michael Taylor has thrown a lifeline to individuals looking to kickstart their spiritual journeys and self-discovery in his new book, What if Jesus Were a Coach?

“There are many people who are hesitant to pursue their spiritual journeys because of strict religious doctrines surrounding Christianity that don’t coincide with their personal views,” Taylor said.

Data released from the Pew Research Center supports Taylor’s position, with surveys showing that the number of religious “nones” has grown by nearly 30 million over the past decade.

Touted as a refreshing take on spirituality and religion, What if Jesus Were a Coach? aims to inspire readers to find their own truth about God. The author shares his personal experiences and delves into the teachings of Jesus to help readers realize that there is more to spirituality than rules and restrictions.

A former Atheist, Taylor once had an aversion to organized religion until he undertook extensive research about world religions to determine if God existed or not.

“My research ultimately led me to my own ‘truth’ about God, which has allowed me to create an intimacy and connection to a power greater than myself,” he said. “In this book, I share my experiences and how I was able to do that.”

What if Jesus Were a Coach offers valuable lessons that will benefit even those who do not believe in God. Readers will come away with a refreshing viewpoint and newfound wisdom on connecting with a higher power and achieving their dreams.

And the book is already having an impact. One reader had this to say: “The message is beautiful and heartfelt — with explicit personal experiences. For me, it is like coming out of the deepest, darkest hole and into the light for the first time. It is not just a guide, but also a light to guide you along the way to your spiritual awakening. It is an ultimate guide when you’re searching for the truth in your spiritual journey.”
