Mona Symone
An advocate for child bullying, Mona Symone pursues her passion by running a business with an anti-bullying theme. What began as a blog to help parents deal with their children being bullied grew into a full-fledged brand, I’m Just Me, empowering both children and parents to stand up to bullies. Mona then invested all her resources into helping parents empower their own children by providing resources to combat bullying. Her Shopify store and blog are filled with anti-bullying merchandise to empower children to stand up to bullies, unleash their true talents, build their confidence, polish their character, and spread positivity through strong affirmations. The brand encourages parents to raise their children in the right way as they are the leaders of tomorrow. United States
Mona Symone is a hard-working entrepreneur and dedicated mother. After her 12-year-old son endured bullying several times, she took immediate action by having continued discussions with her child and school administrators. Mona maintained an open dialogue with her son, encouraging him to tell her everything that happened each day so he would be better equipped to handle what was happening. He slowly learned how to fight his own battles, including when to fight, when not to, and when to seek adult intervention from mom and administrators. The bullying her son faced and the uphill battle with administration inspired Mona to create I’m Just Me which provides important resources to parents which allow kids to get help and stand up to bullies.

We are living in a period of change where several old toxic stories of corporations and business CEOs are crumbling and can no longer exist. Leaders need to redefine the purpose of a corporation to withstand and grow. Leadership skills are taking on a new role and we need to lead by example, not force the hand. Inspiring and empowering the team will lead to greater fulfillment than controlling and demanding employees. Relationships within the business are crucial to nurture and grow. Impactful leadership is about making long-lasting positive and meaningful contributions to business and society. It is important to combine your mind and heart to lead with a lasting impact with authenticity and influence those around you. You want to lead to a goal but also build your team to flourish on their own. The winning formula will require incredible competence of mind, spirit, and emotional intelligence to manifest through quantum leaps. Deidre is a TEDx speaker, spiritual guide, leadership strategist, and love coach. She travels the world, and lives fully from her gifts, and she has had the pleasure of supporting hundreds of people on their journey of awakening to their highest selves and full potential. But it wasn’t always this way. For over two decades she lived a dual life, swallowed her truth, settled for the 70% of what she wanted in all aspects of her life. She felt like she was playing small. From the outside, she looked like a leader, and like she was the happiest person everyone knew. But on the inside, it felt like her soul was being crushed, like she was failing at life. The truth was that she had disconnected from her intuition due to years of unhealed trauma and abusive relationships. She got really good at checking things off of “the list”: Get married, buy a house, start a business, be successful. Her life looked so good to everyone else around her that even she was drinking the Kool-Aid. All the boxes were checked, the list was complete—this was it, right? What everyone else strives for? Then why wasn’t she happy? Why did she carry around this feeling of things not being quite right, even though to everyone else, she looked like the luckiest woman on the planet? That illusion didn’t last. Spirit knocked her on her head with manifestations of disease, depression, and a list of Universal signs that no one could ignore. In the throes of an awakening that felt more like judgment day, she had no choice but to fully surrender and embrace my true path. She studied with Shamans for a decade among other things to find her truth and master the art of healing and supporting others. It became clear that every trauma, transition, lie she lived, and radical change she had experienced was a part of her becoming ready to serve others in ways she would have never been able to without the life experiences she’s had. This is the difference of being radically aligned and leaking your energy. She went from disease and depression to fulfilled and thriving because she prioritized her alignment and healing to quell that feeling that she wasn’t living up to her potential. |

Partly due to policy changes at the federal level, the prospects for the unhoused are sinking to an unprecedented low. Sherman offers practical solutions, not only for our government leaders but also for the average person, including physical and mental health programs, volunteer and community outreach, the destigmatization of homelessness and so much more.

Sherman has a master’s degree in management from the Peter F. Drucker Graduate Management program at Claremont College. He worked as an executive for thirty-five years in homebuilding and land development for two large public companies. He retired in 2008. While working in Sacramento, he served on the board of directors for the North State Homebuilders Association, acting as the board chair in 2000. While on that board, Sherman worked with a handful of those board members to start a new nonprofit in 1999 titled HomeAid. That organization was developed as part of the National Homebuilding Association initiative to help supply new beds for the transitionally homeless in their communities. Over the last 20 years HomeAid has worked to provide hundreds of new beds and several new facilities to serve the homeless and other vulnerable citizens in the Sacramento region. He was asked to join the Volunteers of America board of directors in 2005, where he served until December 2013. In 2010 he was voted into the California Homebuilding Foundation’s Hall of Fame, based in part on the community service work he had been a part of in Sacramento. In January 2014 he voluntarily stepped down from the VOA board to run the daily operations at Mather Community, a transitional housing homeless program with the goal of growing their employment program. In the six years he was responsible for the program, they served well over one thousand clients, many of which left homelessness for good. Between August 2015 and April 2019, he completed a three-year program to become an ordained minister with Volunteers of America, focusing his work on trauma and moral injury.

Our country now depends on imports of two million tons of natural rubber from five Asian countries, China and Vietnam among them, without capacity to produce it now for American producers of 40,000 products that depend on it. The Defense Department states that Natural Rubber is a strategic material that is vital to our national security, yet we are vulnerable to disruption by China, my ag enterprise will focus on building capacity to current and future needs of this vital commodity. Along with growing two plant species that offer a high quality natural rubber we will grow many other species of value as fiber, food, and medicinals. Plant material left over will be used to make BioCoal briquettes to replace coal as a clean burning biofuel. As a Vietnam vet who served with the Navy, and later in the Army, I still keep the oath I took to serve our country, and to defend it against enemies, foreign and domestic, building a natural rubber industry, along with other vets looking to get back into the civilian world, and homeless folk, is my way to help make America Great Again. USA
Served in the Tonkin Gulf, on the attack aircraft carrier, USS KITTY HAWK, later became a newspaper reporter, and editor of a 12 page weekly paper at a naval air station in Florida. In the Army, stationed in Germany, was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for my work in a job I had to learn from scratch, managing a complex personnel management system. At North Fort Lewis, in Washington, I worked for the 9th Division Air Defense Artillery Brigade headquarters, and on the Fast Attack Vehicle project with the High Technology Test Bed. As a civilian I have handled a Univac System 80 mainframe computer, have been active in sales, marketing, advertising, even did a couple of commercial fishing contracts in Alaska, and lived to tell about it. Since leaving the military I have spent decades looking for solutions to end thirst, hunger, homelessness, and energy deficits, and have found them, will shortly be in a position to showcase these answers at the White Tiger Farms, and our glamping resort to welcome guests and visitors from around the world. |
