Healthy Fashion: The Deeper Truths
Amy Nordhues
Prayed Upon is the story of one woman’s escape from the abuse of a respected, church-going psychiatrist. Amy reaches out to Dr. Dolion for help with depression, but instead of providing healing, he leads her down a path of deception and betrayal. His office, which initially feels like a sanctuary, becomes a psychological prison, one from which Amy will have to fight to free herself.

Prayed Upon, a true story depicts Amy’s journey from victim to thriving child of God. Her brutal honesty provides an inside look at the warped beliefs that early abuse instills; beliefs that make adult victims vulnerable to sexual predators. Her story shines a light on the under-reported sexual abuse of adults and ultimately the way victims can gain freedom from the bondage of shame that abuse leaves behind.

This story captured nationwide attention. I will include a couple of news clips.

For your upcoming stories, please consider Dyester Corp and Domespaces by Barry Sendach, a line of eco-friendly outdoor structures that span glamping, camping, dining, weddings and corporate events, with innovative 'Domespaces,' 'Yurtspaces,' and 'Moduspaces' encompassing domes, yurts, modular bathrooms and kitchens, tailored to different types of lifestyles. Regarding current Brian Laundrie news, Barry Sendach, founder of the company says "If he has a geodesic dome that he covers up in the wilderness, Brian should be able to hide indefinitely if he is a true survivor. The dome will protect him from the elements and afford him the luxury of safety from the outside."  Barry is available to discuss the following:

-The macro picture of how domes are popping up worldwide and where his company fits in

-Are domes and 'van life' the future of living spaces with prices of homes skyrocketing?

-His response to Brian Laundrie being out in the wilderness and how his products speak to this

-How Domespaces answer every glamper's and camper's needs in terms of amenities, remote lifestyle, nature's best and an incredible view

-How the customizable dome selection process works- build your own dome and choose colors and materials to adapt to personal lifestyle habits

-How to create the perfect wedding or corporate event using domes as an experience

Launching in 2017, Barry broke into the outdoor business with shipping container homes and alternative uses for the containers. He found a niche in products that complimented the container business, and thus the domes were born. He says. "There has been an uptick in sales since the pandemic. Everything from the way people live, work, shop, educate has changed, including the way people vacation. There is a worldwide demand to be outside and the domes offer an inexpensive way to live in nature, while enjoying the comforts of home in a cool structure. With home prices reaching all time highs and work being flexible as office presence is not mandatory, people of all ages and economic levels are leaving urban areas in search of low-cost housing with safe environments. Domes are catching on in all climates and terrains due to their versatility and size availability."

Domes are ideal for special events like weddings, corporate meetings, trade shows, immersive theaters and large scale event planners are dressing up these domes for experiential events. Seeing a dramatic spike in the amount of campgrounds in the US and launching glass and PVC domes, Domespaces carries one of the largest varieties in the world for outdoor living. The company offers an array of accessories used in the domes and offers secondary market items including fully functional bathrooms and kitchens, along with second level spaces or lofts that enlarge the space using the same footprint.

Candice M Bond
I’m excited to introduce you one of the US's finest attorneys,Candice M. Bond. Would love to share her triumph story, as she work hard to get to where she is - and her goal of helping people who cannot help themselves.Bond, was raised in a trailer park and college, at the time was not an option. She is now founder of one of the top local law firms, Bond Legal a mother, and philanthropist doing what she loves.

“As someone who went through a life-altering accident at a young age, I personally and wholeheartedly understand the challenges that come with the legal aftermath of serious or catastrophic injuries,” says Bond Legal Founder and Managing Partner, Candice M. Bond. “That’s why it was important to me to create a team of attorneys who are not only experts in their field but who are also keen on leading every case with ethics and morals on a contingency basis. We care about our clients on a human-to-human level, and we fight for them until they get the justice and compensation they deserve. No matter what, we stick with them until the end.”

United States

Candice M. Bond is the Managing Partner of Bond Legal, a national catastrophic injury law firm based in Irvine, California.  Candice has represented injured clients for over 15 years and founded Bond Legal with the mission of helping those whose lives have been shattered by catastrophic injury or tragic loss caused by someone else’s negligence.

It is a hardship she knows well. When she was growing up in Louisiana, a random driver’s negligent act caused an accident that seriously injured her mother, who was raising Candice alone. Candice, who was also in the vehicle, saw firsthand how lives can be changed forever and drastically in an instant.

The accident itself was only the beginning. Just 8 years old at the time, Candice was astute enough to question the intentions of the attorneys involved. She also saw the insurance companies act in their own interest.

To Candice, the message was clear: People need lawyers who genuinely care about them and the tragedies they endure. Candice works tirelessly to see Bond Legal thrive as a heart-centered firm, by tending to day-to-day operations, marketing, and building a team of visionaries and leaders to further the mission.

She earned her law degree graduating from California Western School of Law, San Diego, in 2005. She passed the California Bar Exam on her first attempt.

Now she and her partners are licensed to practice law in states across the country. Candice guides Bond Legal as a national advocate and philanthropist. The firm represents and protects catastrophically injured clients from coast to coast. It is a cause in which Candice finds deep meaning – and the fuel to fight even harder. She knows how a catastrophic accident changes a family’s life in an instant, whether the injury is fatal or permanently disabling. Everything is impacted – jobs, marriages, futures. Financial devastation comes quickly with mounting medical bills and loss of income.

Easing that trauma for people is the fight Candice has battled passionately as the leader of Bond Legal. She lives her life as an advocate for every person she takes on as a Client.

Candice ensures that Bond Legal continues its philanthropy on a national scale, providing relief with donations and scholarships and providing legal services pro bono when needed.

When she is not advocating for her clients, Candice loves spending time with her son, Justice Bond.

In 2019, after speaking with hundreds of women experiencing the same issues, Bernholtz set out to create the solution herself, co-founding the SWIMINISTA collection. Based on her previous work at global lifestyle brand Rock & Republic and first-hand experience with the waste-filled fashion industry, she set out to not only build a better suit but also a better design process. The result is a collection of ultra-comfortable swimwear featuring a soft, luxurious nylon fabric made from post-consumer plastics. Figure-flattering tops, bottoms, and one-pieces can be mixed and matched, offering timeless silhouettes in adjustable, customized fits designed to inspire confidence from size A to DD.

The SWIMINISTA online boutique also makes the shopping experience a breeze. A personalized sizing guide helps customers easily find the right suit for their unique body. Customers can choose a selection of suits to test in the comfort and privacy of home, and - true to the company’s environmental values - all orders arrive in earth-friendly recycled, compostable packaging.

When Bernholtz isn’t perfecting the SWIMINISTA line, she can be found spending time with her daughter or sharing industry insights with various publications like US Weekly’s “Fashion Police.” Passionate about the planet, she also regularly coordinates community beach clean-ups and gives time to organizations working to protect the environment, such as Heal the Bay, Oceania, and The Galapagos Conservancy.

Tomeka Purcell
The gap between Black and White homeownership is wider than it was 50+ years ago, before the 1968 Fair Housing Act was enacted to create equal housing opportunities for minorities. Homeownership is less achievable for Blacks at a rate of 46.4%, compared to 75.8% of Whites. But, why? And why are homes in predominantly Black neighborhoods valued at $48,000 less than White ones, further contributing to the racial wealth gap?

Enter Tomeka Lynch Purcell, an advocate of financial empowerment, author, serial entrepreneur and self-made millionaire who specializes in the delivery of financial education including seminars, workshops, curricula and training. As the founder of PMG Worldwide, Tomeka educates first-time homebuyers on the importance of purchasing a home.

Growing up, Tomeka didn’t have much insight about money, except knowing it was something you were supposed to have. Sleeping in her Pontiac Grand Am with her 3 children was the turning point that changed Tomeka’s mindset about how money and credit should be handled. Tomeka was a product of this issue, however, she is now a solution and source of financial stability, sharing the wealth. Purcell addresses the gap of fiscal health and homeownership for minorities through her strategic budgeting process and access to home ownership with her privately-owned mortgage company.

She can comment on the following relevant hot topics:

-The minimum credit score you need to buy a house, and how to achieve scores over 740. Why 20% of Black households have a credit score over 700, yet over half of White households have a credit score that high.

-Why predatory lenders are specifically targeting Black homeowners during the housing crisis, stripping them of home equity, causing many to lose their homes, and what to do about it.

-Why the difference in parental homeownership and wealth explains 13% of the gap between Black and Whites and how down payment assistance is a hurdle for Black homebuyers who are less often recipients of an inheritance or family money.

-Her thoughts on The Biden administration's plans to close the racial wealth gap and invest in communities that are the target of racist policies, including addressing appraisal bias, the practice of valuing Black-owned homes lower than White-owned homes.

-Why Blacks are 2.5 times more likely to be rejected for a home loan than Whites, why Blacks pay higher interest rates, and what to do about it.

-Unveiling debt-to-income ratio (DTI), why student loan debt is affecting Blacks more than Whites, and how to prevent this issue.

As an expert financial advisor for minority populations, Tomeka comments, "Residential segregation facilitates extraction of wealth and other vital resources that fuel economic and social mobility. The loss of wealth in Black communities hastens a downward socioeconomic spiral. Unaddressed, it will continue to fall for every age group younger than 85, posing an economic risk for the nation and a disaster for the Black families unable to transfer wealth to their children.

As an educator, entrepreneur, and financial coach, Tomeka Lynch Purcell specializes in helping women establish financial goals, build wealth, and change the way they think about money. Utilizing her extensive background in financial planning, corporate finance and real estate, Tomeka founded Credit Solutions Services, a credit and financial management firm, teaching women financial stability that encourages personal and financial assertiveness and evolution. In 2016, Tomeka launched her Amazon bestselling book, “Why Pay Cash? Credit Is Better,” challenging the antiquated mindset that millions of people have about the use of credit and how millennial spending can change that. “The Ingredients To Better Credit," takes a deeper dive at credit management solutions, providing a real-talk approach to building and repairing problematic credit. Tomeka is a bestselling-author of three financial help books for children, with her current series featuring a young black girl named Morgan who talks to children about saving money, what she is doing with her money, and visiting the bank. Morgan discusses current and world events, taking care of her natural hair, and learning about the melanin in her skin. Morgan comes with coloring books and dolls that will be ready and available during Christmas time!

While storefronts are shutting down, digital custom suit brand, INHERENT opened a brick and mortar store in midst of pandemic. Though expanding on the digital front, the personal tailor with impeccable service and the convenience of a digital concierge understood the importance of human connection and touch and interaction with fashion. INHERENT inspires bold confidence through custom menswear, providing modern-day “suits of armor” while empowering communities to speak openly about mental health. Taylor Draper, CEO and co-founder of INHERENT can relate and talk to many , as he has dealt with his own struggles with depression, Opening up about feelings through fashion, Draper is offering everyone to walk in his shoes, and suit, literally. Taylor’s eye opening story started when his marriage was struggling and and he was at a very low point, one thing he decided to do for himself, and his marriage was to get up, get dressed (in a suit) every day, this was the start of Draper advocating for his own health. Suiting up saved his marriage and never looked back.

Both a couturier and a movement, Inherent Clothier proudly partners with local and national organizations helping to build awareness around men’s mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and self-doubt. Taylor Draper is the CEO and co-founder of INHERENT: custom made menswear that offers personal styling with a mental health mission. Built on Draper’s own struggles with depression, INHERENT designs modern-day “suits of armor” that awaken the inner confidence to battle anxiety, overwhelm, and self-doubt. Following a troubled childhood in Anchorage, Alaska, Draper reached the age of 15 weighing over 300 pounds and was diagnosed with clinical depression. At 16, he and his mother relocated to Colorado Springs, where Draper found the courage to make a fresh start and get healthy - both physically and mentally. A natural entrepreneur, he left home at the earliest opportunity to establish a website and graphic design company at age 18, where he learned the basics of business-building, marketing, and brand development. In 2017, after years of demanding 60-hour work weeks, Draper found himself battling crippling self-doubt, struggling with weight gain, and facing divorce. In order to save himself and his marriage, Draper sought healing and support through extensive counseling and found confidence in the most surprising of places: his wardrobe. “I realized that caring for myself and my appearance gave me the confidence to show up to counseling appointments, helping me build strength to pick up the pieces of a broken marriage and begin to repair.”

Draper established the brand INHERENT which started as an online custom suit store where men could shop affordable luxury styles in the comfort of their own home. Today, their flagship store is open in Colorado Springs and the company advances men’s mental wellness through their non-profit: Foundation by Inherent. The Foundation by Inherent is creating programs, resources, and events to change the face of men’s mental wellness. A portion of all sales made, and employee’s time gets put directly into the Foundation. The larger goal for Draper is normalizing feelings of anxiety, depression, or self-doubt while sparking honest conversation around mental health, ultimately giving men the confidence and courage to speak out.

“My mission will not be complete until phrases like ‘walk it off’ or ‘man up’ are redefined in our vocabulary to mean that a man is in touch with his feelings, and can communicate them in a healthy way. Every man’s first instinct should be to open up about feelings of overwhelm or depression without shame, guilt, or fear.” Through Inherent, Draper helps men build fully functional, versatile wardrobes that awaken confidence and authentic self-expression. The company also partners with local and national organizations working to empower individuals and communities to speak openly about mental health. A fan of golf, MMA, Jiu Jitsu, and Formula 1, Draper recharges by playing golf and spending time with his family. Learn more at https://thisisinherent.com.
