As a Canadian politician, diplomat and international envoy for humanitarian efforts, Stephen Lewis has dedicated himself to improving the human condition.

Stephen Lewis is the board chair of the Stephen Lewis Foundation. He is a Distinguished Visiting Professor at Ryerson University in Toronto, and he is co-founder and co-director of AIDS-Free World in the United States.

Mr. Lewis is a member of the Board of Directors of the Clinton Health Access Initiative and Emeritus Board Member of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative. He served as a Commissioner on the Global Commission on HIV and the Law. The Commission’s Report, Risks, Rights & Health, was launched by the Secretary-General of the United Nations in July 2012.

Stephen Lewis’ work with the United Nations spanned more than two decades. He was the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa from June 2001 until the end of 2006. From 1995 to 1999, Mr. Lewis was Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF at the organization’s global headquarters in New York. From 1984 through 1988, he was Canada's Ambassador to the United Nations.

From 1970-1978, Mr. Lewis was leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party, during which time he became leader of the Official Opposition.

In 2003 Stephen Lewis was appointed a Companion of the Order of Canada, Canada’s highest honour for lifetime achievement. In 2007, King Letsie III, monarch of the Kingdom of Lesotho (a small mountainous country in Southern Africa) invested Mr. Lewis as Knight Commander of the Most Dignified Order of Moshoeshoe. The order is named for the founder of Lesotho; the knighthood is the country’s highest honour. And in 2012, Mr. Lewis was an inaugural recipient of Canada’s Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Mr. Lewis is the author of the best-selling book, Race Against Time. He holds 35 honorary degrees from Canadian universities as well as honorary degrees from Dartmouth College and Johns Hopkins University in the United States.

A. Marc Gillinov, MD, is a staff cardiac surgeon at the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute at Cleveland Clinic and he is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He holds the Judith Dion Pyle Chair in Heart Valve Research at Cleveland Clinic. Spurred by patient's questions, Dr. Gillinov has recently extended his efforts to help people achieve heart health by teaming with Cleveland Clinic cardiologist Dr. Steven Nissen to write a book entitled, "Heart 411: The Only Heart Guide You Will Ever Need."

Dr. Gillinov has special expertise in minimally invasive mitral valve, aortic valve, and tricuspid valve surgery; robotic valve surgery; mitral valve repair; aortic valve replacement; surgical treatment and minimally invasive surgery for atrial fibrillation; off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery and high-risk mitral valve surgery. In addition, he is Surgical Director of the Center for Atrial Fibrillation at Cleveland Clinic.

A Cleveland native and graduate of Hawken School, Dr. Gillinov first worked at Cleveland Clinic in 1978. Sparked by the successful heart surgery of a close family member at Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Gillinov spent his summers during high school as a researcher and assistant in the cardiac surgery operating suite.

After graduating summa cum laude from Yale University, Dr. Gillinov entered Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he ranked first in his class. Dr. Gillinov received his clinical and advanced training in general surgery and cardiac and thoracic surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. After completing his education and training, he returned to Cleveland Clinic and joined the cardiac surgery staff in 1997.

Dr. Gillinov is a recognized expert in mitral valve repair surgery and in the study and treatment of atrial fibrillation. He has been instrumental in the development of new, less invasive treatment approaches for mitral valve disease and atrial fibrillation. He has delivered hundreds of invited lectures at hospitals, academic meetings and seminars in the United States and abroad.

To his credit are more than 200 publications, eight continuing medical educational films and 19 contributory chapters to medical/surgical textbooks. In addition, he has submitted patent applications for several innovations, including a patent disclosing new techniques for valve repair for which he received a Cleveland Clinic Award for Innovation. He has been instrumental in ushering in a new era in medicine with his contributions to the scientific development of percutaneous approaches to heart valve disease.

Dr. Gillinov is a member of ten scientific societies, and he has been invited to join the editorial review board or act as an editorial reviewer for 15 scientific periodicals. He is the medical editor of the Cleveland Clinic’s Cardiac Consult and has served on the editorial boards of e-Cleveland Clinic, The Heart Surgery Forum, Innovations, the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and the Journal of Cardiac Surgery.

A native Clevelander, Dr. Gillinov divides his time between working at Cleveland Clinic, spending time with his family and playing tennis.

He was also the co-author of the Laurance Rockefeller-funded “UFO Briefing Document – The Best Available Evidence” and edited the book “A Study Guide to UFOs, Psychic & Paranormal Phenomena in the USSR.” Huneeus studied French at the Sorbonne University in Paris and Journalism at the University of Chile in Santiago in the 1970s. Chilean-American journalist Jose Antonio Huneeus was born in New York in 1950, the son of a Chilean diplomat and United Nations official. He studied French at the Sorbonne University in Paris in 1970, and journalism at the University of Chile in Santiago in the early 1970s. Huneeus has written extensively on Ufology and Fortean subjects for a number of magazines, newspapers and bulletins in Chile, Spain, Brazil, U.S.A., Japan, and elsewhere; covering as well space, ecological, and scientific issues as a science journalist since 1973. His weekly science column appeared in the New York City Tribune (1983-1990) and Noticias del Mundo (1986-1994). His "UFO CHRONICLE" column has appeared regularly in FATE magazine since 1993, and he has published in many ufological plublications such as UFO Universe, MUFON UFO Journal, UFO Report, and many others overseas. He is currently U.S. correspondent for the large circulation magazine Ano Cero in Spain, and regular UFO columnist for the new magazine Borderland in Japan.

Huneeus has contributed more extensive papers for several MUFON Symposia (1987-1990-1992-1996-1997), the PSI Science Institute of Japan (1991), and the Fourth European Congress in Lyon, France (1990). He edited the anthology A Study Guide to UFOs, Psychic and Paranormal Phenomena in the USSR (New York, Abelard Publications, 1991); and was one of three authors with Don Berliner and Marie Galbraith, of the Laurance Rockefeller-funded UFO Briefing Document - The Best Available Evidence, published in 1996 by the UFO Research Coalition (CUFOS, FUFOR, MUFON). Huneeus was also consultant and producer for a Laser Active disc (LD-ROM) in Japan, UFO & ET, produced for Pioneer Electronics by the Tokyo company Studio Garage.

The Rev. Hunnemann was raised in Greensboro, North Carolina in the fair neighborhood of Sunset Hills. The seventh of ten children, he sought refuge from his mischievous tendencies by playing football. In his words he played fullback because, "he couldn't juke his dead grandmother, but he did like the crash of helmets."

Psychologist Dr. Kirby Surprise has written a book called Synchronicity: The Art of Coincidence, Change, and Unlocking Your Mind, in which he explains the ways in which we influence events and their meanings. It is his belief that we can discover how our minds create our reality, unlock vast resources of connectivity and creativity, and change from living as separate beings to living within a unified whole.

Dr. Kirby Surprise received his Doctorate in psychology in 2007 from the institute for Integral Studies in San Francisco, his masters in psychodynamic and transpersonal psychology from John F. Kennedy University in 1988. Dr. Surprise received his license as a psychologist in 2009, and currently works in an advanced outpatient program for the state of California. The inspiration for his current writing comes from his lifelong experiences with synchronistic events and interests in psychology, metaphysics, philosophy, history and science. Surprise is his original family name, and he has received more than a few interested comments on the coincidence of a book on synchronicity written by a psychologist named Dr. Surprise. He and his family currently live and work in the San Francisco bay area.
