AFRICAN-AMERICAN AUTHOR: Kathy Barnette, author of Nothing to Lose, Everything to Gain: Being Black and Conservative in America. Kathy is also currently running for U.S. Congress in the 4th District of Pennsylvania.

Tens of thousands of protesters took to the streets across America again Sunday, with peaceful demonstrations against police killings of black people overshadowed by unrest that quickly ravaged parts of cities from Pennsylvania to California.

City and state officials had deployed thousands of National Guard soldiers, enacted strict curfews and shut down mass transit systems, but that did little to stop many cities from again erupting into unrest.

Protesters in Philadelphia hurled rocks and Molotov cocktails at police, officials said, while masked crowds broke into upscale stores in a San Francisco suburb, fleeing with bags of merchandise. In Minneapolis, a truck driver drove into a massive crowd of demonstrators nearly a week after the death of George Floyd, a black man who pleaded for air as an officer pressed a knee into his neck.

Conservative political commentator Kathy Barnette shares how liberal leadership has failed the black community and how being a democrat is not synonymous with your skin color.

During his first historic run for the presidency in 2016, Donald Trump made an impassioned plea to the black community. "Give me a chance," he said. "What the hell do you have to lose?"

According to Kathy Barnette, black Americans have nothing to lose, except for crime ridden communities, neighborhoods that have become shooting galleries, more social welfare programs, and the mocking indifference of the Democrat party. Barnette argues that even a cursory look into the black community reveals the destabilizing effect liberal policies have had on the black family.

There was a time when Barnette bought into the same lie as everyone else-that if you're black, you must be a democrat. In fact, she was born into the Democrat party just as much as she was born into brown skin. There was no point of separation. Until she began to understand what it truly means to be black in America. Barnette contends that being black is more than just the color of her skin. It's a culture and a consciousness, too.

In NOTHING TO LOSE, EVERYTHING TO GAIN, Barnette writes about why liberal policies have failed the black community time and time again - and will fail the larger American community as Democrats rush to the hard Left of the party. From the "Great Society" to Kanye West's ongoing war with the liberal establishment, this book provides sharp, eloquent commentary on the most pressing issues facing black Americans today: broken family structure, loss of identity, the legacy of slavery, and more.

Barnette argues that President Trump has not been willing to presume that the "black vote" is a foregone conclusion resting comfortably in the back pockets of Democrats. With his plainspoken style and willingness to face harsh truths, the president has done more for the black community than any president since Abraham Lincoln. Barnette insists the time is now to get back what has been lost, to fix the brokenness, and to recognize and support those who are actually working in our favor.

We have nothing to lose, and even more to gain.

Guest Biography:

Legendary Alice Cooper Group drummer Neal Smith released a new album on June 1st, 2020. Neal’s new Retro Pop album is titled “POP 85/95” signifying the music style and time period in which Neal wrote these songs between 1985 and 1995.The songs and album concept are totally sexy and politically incorrect. Neal’s “POP 85/95” songs represent all aspects of relationships, falling in and out of love in a simpler bygone era before Coronavirus, politically correctness and the new world disorder.

With the onslaught of glam hair bands and heavily homogenized rock of the 1980’s, Neal Smith, Hall of Fame Drummer and founding member of the original Alice Cooper Group, was looking for a new direction for his songwriting. Inspired by another drummer, songwriter, singer Phil Collins, Neal turned from writing hard rock to a slicker, more pop rock songwriting style. In the late 1980’s he took four of his new songs into the studio and recorded them. One of the songs “Secret Eyes” helped land a recording deal with newly formed record company called Grudge Records. Along with Dennis Dunaway (Alice Cooper fame), Joe Bouchard (Blue Oyster Cult fame), Charlie Hune (Ted Nugent fame) and lead guitarist Jay Jesse Johnson (also known as “Triple J”), a new band called “Deadringer” was formed and signed by Grudge Records. Deadringer recorded an album in 1989 called “Electrocution Of The Heart” featuring the single “Secret Eyes.” The album and Deadringer were all short lived after Grudge Records quick demise. After Deadringer and well into the 1990’s, Neal continued writing songs with Jay Jesse Johnson (“Triple J”) in this pop rock style.

Decades later, well into the New Millennium, Neal was searching through his archives of music and found those songs that he composed and recorded with ‘Triple J” between the years of 1985 and 1995. Inspired by “Triple J’s” amazing lead guitar work, Neal polished the songs and brought them back to life with the help of two of his best friends, Peter Catucci (bass guitar of Killsmith) and Rick Tedesco (guitarist/engineer). Now, much to the excitement of his fans worldwide, Neal Smith’s “POP 85/95” is available digitally and on CD!

As an attorney and small business owner I’ve seen the effects of too many regulations and taxes that are too high.  California is becoming unaffordable for working families and that is making it impossible for our children to be able to plan a future here.

I am currently a practicing lawyer in Ventura County as well as the Dean of a California law school. I live in Oak Park with my husband Michael and our six-year-old triplets, Annabel, Bianca, and Liam.

REVERED SINGER

DAUGHTER OF LEGENDARY BLUES ICON

B. B. K I N G

NEW RELEASE WITH ALL-STAR CAST OF MUSICIANS

'B L U E S  F O R  A  K I N G'

Born and raised in West Memphis, Arkansas, Shirley began singing in the church choir at age nine. When she was thirteen, she met another music legend – Etta James.

Young Shirley was so impressed by Etta’s performance that she made Etta her musical role model. Ruth Brown and the late Mahalia Jackson also greatly influenced the fledgling singer.

Shirley says, “I grew up around the stage watching my dad become famous, but I never imagined I’d become a blues singer too.”

Ms. King came late to the blues, first trying it on in 1990. Within six months, she was a regular performer at famed Chicago blues club Kingston Mines. Two years later she released her first CD, “Jump Through My Keyhole.”

In 1999, Shirley released her highly acclaimed blues album, “Daughter of the Blues,” which featured her soulful, bluesy versions of classics like Wang Dang Doodle, Sweet Home Chicago, Every Day I Have the Blues and, fittingly, The Thrill is Gone.

Once her father caught her act he lent his full support to Shirley’s efforts at carving out her own career.  She admits that having a legendary father helped open some doors for her, but it was her talent, charisma and high-energy stage presence, along with her big, beautiful singing voice, that put her on the musical map.

From traditional blues to gospel to funky R&B to smooth soul, Shirley defies genre and her singing and stage antics never fails to excite her growing number of fans worldwide.

Shirley also believes in giving back. She has also worked with kids as an artist-in-residence with the highly acclaimed Urban Gateways Arts in the Schools Program at Chicago Public Schools and continues to expose school children to the history blues has played in American culture.

Shirley also published her memoirs in 2017 entitled Love is King, which is dedicated to her father and goes into detail about her life with her dad, to whom she was very close.

Blues Hall of Fame guitarist Joe Louis Walker, who guests on two tracks on the new album, said, “I’ve had the honor of performing on two B.B. King albums.  Now I have the distinct honor and pleasure of playing on his daughter’s album, Shirley King, who is also my dear friend.  Keep the thrill goin’ on Shirley….”

With her powerful voice and outgoing personality, Shirley always rocks the house whether it’s on an international stage, a festival or a nightclub.

She’s ready to bust out bigger than ever on her own in a way that would make her daddy proud.  Make sure to come along for the ride.

Aly Conyers is a 17-year-old student who attends a private high school in South Carolina. A three time all-American sprinter, Aly was supposed to spend this summer competing at track and field events. Instead, she is leading student protests to the White House and Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. monument.

Aly grew up surrounded by officers in uniform. Her father was in the Army, and her family has lived on military bases in Toronto, Seoul and Guantánamo Bay, Cuba. She has been raised with deep respect for the military, but also with an understanding of racial injustice in the world.

Her father encouraged her to read James Baldwin and Malcolm X from a young age. She vividly remembers her first protest: She was about 11, on vacation in Chicago, when her family decided to join a Black Lives Matter march. And now, Aly is leading marches in Washington, DC.

Aly created a group with her older brother Ace Conyers and a friend called Faces of the Future, hoping to get other teenagers more involved beyond the protests in DC.

Guest Occupation: Bestselling author and founder of Yes to Success Seminars, Speaker, Mentor to the Mentors
Guest Biography:

How would you like to meet someone who is traveling the world sharing the universal secrets of how to live a life of true and lasting success? My guest is Debra Poneman, bestselling author and founder of Yes to Success Seminars, who for over 40 years has shared her system, now used by tens of thousands of people globally, to create lives of success and prosperity, as well as deep happiness, self-love and lasting inner fulfillment.  Known as the mentor to the mentors, Debra’s students have applied her teachings to become mega-successful entrepreneurs, renowned transformational leaders, NY Times bestselling authors, millionaires, billionaires—and powerful world-changers.  Debra feels her greatest accomplishment is not just that she’s taught so many people how to live their dreams but also how to look in the mirror and love the person they see.

In the winter of 1981, while working as an account executive for an LA investment company, Debra attended an evening seminar entitled, "Money Magic." Thinking she was walking into another dry financial tutorial, she sat transfixed as the seminar leader shared radical ideas about how prosperity is really created – ideas that had nothing to do with working hard or investing wisely but rather using energetic tools like the now popular “Law of Attraction” to create prosperity. Feeling as if every fiber of her being was resonating with the seminar leader's words, she knew that night that her life's work was to study this knowledge and share these principles with the world.

The next morning she quit her job and spent the next several months studying the laws of true success and prosperity as expounded on by icons of western “esoteric” thought such as Napoleon Hill, Wallace Wattles, Earl Nightengale and Florence Shin. In early 1982, she founded Yes to Success Seminars, Inc., a company dedicated to teaching enlightened, timeless principles of success and prosperity – in modern day language.

By 1983, Debra's seminar was being taught in over a dozen major US cities. By 1984 she had reps teaching her ever-growing body of knowledge in seven countries internationally.

Debra soon became a favorite talk show guest and appeared on radio and TV and in print media from coast to coast. As a sought-after speaker, her client list included Mattel Toys, McDonnell Douglas, the Xerox Management group, International Trade Management, Women in Management, Women in Banking, Business and Professional Women, and more.

Her seminar was the launching pad for many now-renowned transformational leaders including Marci Shimoff, Janet Attwood, Peggy O'Neill, and Extreme Leadership’s Steve Farber.

By 1987 she was being represented by a top literary agent and had a book deal in the works with a major publisher—and she was in the middle of negotiations for her own day-time talk show.

In 1988, her world stopped. No, there was no accident or catastrophe. Her world stopped when the mid-wife handed Debra her new baby girl. And, being true to her own teachings, she chose to follow her heart and for the next two decades devoted her life to being a mom-at-home to her daughter and her son who was born three years later.

Although she fit in a few keynotes, wrote a book on how to cook for your vegetarian children as well as the best-selling Chicken Soup for the American Idol Soul, and ran a successful home-based business, she only worked when there were no basketball games to cheer at, recitals to attend, or birthday parties to throw--and she was almost always home to tuck her children in, read them a story and kiss them good night.

Fast forward to 2012. With her baby girl happily employed in the world of fashion and her son running his own successful business in the basketball world, although she took a break from her career as a professional speaker to be a professional mom, the timeless principles of her Yes to Success seminars are as useful today as they were when she first founded her company in 1982.

Debra is once again sharing these principles with the world and helping thousands more say Yes to Success. Adding richness to her already vast wisdom is the profound and invaluable insights into the human spirit that she gained from being a mom.
