Music Submission, The Modern Day Slave

Artist or Band Name:
The Modern Day Slave

Rising from the deep caves of the South African music industry comes The Modern Day Slave with new age experimental rap instrumentals who many may call the future, he raps about social issues as well as self conscious raps about personal reflection and development. Whether it’s crying out “fear is the man in the mirror” or “me and my brain , living our life in vain just Hoping to gain , pretty b****es cash and pain” he uses clever word play and a smooth flow to please listeners ears. It’s only been months since I started producing and writing lyrics and I have to say I have found my passion. I’ve always had a soft spot for music at the age of 13 I played my first instrument a saxophone and I knew from then that I wanted to make music in my life, though certain life experiences lead me to different places , experiencing the world I learnt a lot about myself and how my destiny unfolds . 2019 I published a blog on the topic modern day slavery and so the journey began . The more I discussed about modern day slavery I was learning myself and it came to a point where I see myself as a slave to modern society April 2020 I started producing beats on my laptop that’s when I also started writing and reflecting on my own personal experiences I see music as the best form of expression for me it’s where I can explore the limitless possibilities of creativity.

Music Submission, Kamyee B

Artist or Band Name:
Kamyee B

I’m 18 years old and I’ve been doing music for as long as I can remember. I was always freestyling a song when I was little and my family members would see me and be like “Kamyee what are you singing”. I started sitting down to actually write everyday at 13 or 14 I was writing before than but it wasn’t that often. I in the past when I was younger I never really paid attention to my actual talent. I would always have these “dreams” and end up not finishing it but for some reason music never left me. So I didn’t realize until 13 that I wanted to be a full time artist...not a rapper. I didn’t really have the guts to upload my music on social media Like that so I didn’t upload music until last year.

Music Submission, KXG

Artist or Band Name:
KXG
A 21 year old bi-racial emerging Hip-Hop artist out of St.Louis, Missouri that goes by KXG (King). Originally born in Farmington, Missouri I moved over 25 times by the age of 18. This made life unstable making it hard to open up and trust others, even dropping out of high-school for a year before I went back to complete it. I was in and out of homeless shelters, sleeping on bus benches, roach infested motels even checking into hospitals to avoid sleeping on the streets when eviction notices got handed out. As most do under these conditions I got into a lot of trouble as a child, luckily I was able to turn myself around at a young age whenever I found a passion for personal development. I found a 9-5 and started working my way up as I was investing into my music career. I taught myself how to produce, design cover art, make clothes, edit videos, mix and master. I know this all sounds great but honestly I was fearful. I simply never wanted to feel like I was incapable or held back by any sort of lack of knowledge especially when dealing with my passion. This explains why my brand is focused around becoming the best version of yourself, becoming a leader... A King. My mission statement is to turn my pain into principle through my actions and music for others to enjoy. My music is available for you on all your favorite platforms, I've also been featured on Local Tampa radio stations, approved by 88.1 Fm in NC , and pending STL Hot 365 Radio. I've also had my music featured in a handful of local establishments, from barber shops, hookah lounges, even T-Mobile! If you're willing to be a part of this journey please take the time to consider my music and it would mean a lot if you followed and/or subscribed to my social media it would be more than appreciated.

Music Submission, Juno

Artist or Band Name:
Juno

I'm an upcoming 18 year old artist from Canada, specifically from Toronto, Ontario. I've been making music for a year now and uploaded songs on Spotify for a couple of months. The genre I mainly am focused on is hip hop/rap, with the sub-genre being melodic. I peaked at around 1.1k monthly listeners on Spotify and currently have songs  above 9K and 12K streams respectively. Making music is just a hobby, but I hope that this hobby can turn into a profession.
