Sara Nicole Glass (MissConception) — Artist Bio
Sara Nicole Glass—known on stage as MissConception—is a Kansas City–born poet, emcee, educator, and multidimensional performance artist who turns every space she enters into an experience. A master of wordplay and movement, she fuses conscious hip-hop, spoken word, fire dance, and flow arts into immersive, high-voltage performances that blur the line between stage and audience.
With a degree in Journalism and Creative Writing from the University of Kansas, MissConception has spent over a decade crafting a career at the intersection of storytelling, activism, and community-building—splitting her time between the Midwest and the San Francisco Bay Area before returning to her roots to ignite the Kansas City arts scene once again.
She has independently released multiple albums and published several books, building a body of work that pulses with rhythm, truth, and transformation. As the founder of the Jazzhaus of Lawrence Poetry Slurrrr and a founding force behind the Poetic Underground Open Mic & Slam, she has helped shape the region’s spoken word landscape while mentoring emerging artists and cultivating creative community.
On stage, MissConception is a force—spitting rapid-fire rhymes one moment, then spinning six LED hoops or dancing with fire the next. Her performances are not passive; they are participatory, alive, and electric. Whether she’s headlining festivals like Burning Man, Electric Forest, and Wakarusa, or weaving intimate magic through a crowd with improvised poetry and playful mischief, she invites audiences into a shared vibration of connection and creativity.
Beyond performance, Sara is a creative producer, DJ, and educator, currently serving as Director of the Weiner Religious School at Congregation Beth Torah, where she brings the same passion for storytelling and transformation into Jewish education and youth programming.
At her core, MissConception is a connector, a catalyst, and a culture-builder—an artist whose mission is to raise the collective vibration through art that is as thought-provoking as it is joyful.
One Tribe. One Vibe.
