Firefighting captain and author joins call for new WTC 7 investigation
Firefighting expert Raul Angulo has studied both the NIST report on WTC 7 and the report issued by the University of Alaska Fairbanks that refutes it, and he concludes that a new WTC 7 investigation is definitely needed.
In this week’s episode of 9/11 Free Fall, the retired captain sits down with host Andy Steele to discuss his take on the WTC 7 evidence and his own efforts to raise awareness about the need to acknowledge the truth about what really brought Building 7 down on September 11, 2001.
Angulo served with the Seattle Fire Department for 36 years, holding leadership positions with several firefighting organizations. He has published more than 350 articles in major firefighting magazines and is the author of Engine Company Fireground Operations (fourth edition), published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Jones & Bartlett Learning.
This week, Angulo published an article in the International Fire and Safety Journal that outlines the many problems with NIST’s WTC 7 investigation.
You don’t want to miss this is a critical interview with a firefighting expert who stands with us in calling for a new WTC 7 investigation!
Welcome to the first episode of Inner Bliss! In this episode, I share my journey as a blind psychotherapist and coach from Vietnam. We will then explore: How to navigate success in relationships? What is the role of money? How do affairs occur?
Former Councilwoman Kathy Patterson has seen DC government from all angles — inside and out. We will discuss the policy changes that are in the works, the things in the District of Columbia that could work better and how best the government can serve the people. In my 18 years of government service, I have never met anyone in DC government more honest and dedicated to the people of the District than Kathy Patterson. I'm excited to speak with her about what the future holds for the District and I look forward to an honest and frank discussion about what needs to be done to make government work for everyone. I encourage everyone to tune in to this retrospective as we look at where we are and where we need to go as a community.

Physician, Sociologist, Teacher, Author, Professor of Sociology and Psychiatry
Jonathan Metzl is an acclaimed physician and sociologist who speaks, teaches, and writes on a range of topics including mental illness and gun violence, race and whiteness in America, health and healthcare, and diversity and structural competency in higher education.
Jonathan Metzl is the author of the groundbreaking book, Dying of Whiteness: How the Politics of Racial Resentment is Killing America’s Heartland. Winner of the 2020 Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Book Award, the book is an in-depth look at why many working-class white Americans support politicians whose policies are literally killing them.
Being a gun violence expert, professor, and psychiatrist is a unique combination that allows Dr. Metzl to speak and write about gun violence in America, and in particular to address stereotypes that link guns with race or mental illness, or that blame mental illness for mass shootings and other gun crimes.
The topic is the focus of Dr. Metzl’s most recent book, What We’ve Become: Living and Dying in a Country of Arms, a New York Times Editor’s Choice selection. By looking at a racially-charged mass shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, What We’ve Become reexamines how we as a nation address gun violence.
Jonathan M. Metzl MD, PhD, is the Frederick B. Rentschler II Professor of Sociology and Psychiatry, and the director of the Department of Medicine, Health, and Society, at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He received his MD from the University of Missouri, MA in humanities/poetics and psychiatric internship/residency from Stanford University, and PhD in American culture from University of Michigan. Winner of the 2020 Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Book Award, the 2020 APA Benjamin Rush Award for Scholarship, and a 2010 Guggenheim fellowship, Dr. Metzl has written extensively about the relationships between guns, mass shootings, and mental illness. His books include The Protest Psychosis, Prozac on the Couch, Against Health: How Health Became the New Morality, Dying of Whiteness: How the Politics of Racial Resentment is Killing America’s Heartland, and What We’ve Become: Living and Dying in a Country of Arms.

Colorado District-39 Representative
In 2019, I entered the political realm because I couldn't stand on the sidelines any longer. The detrimental policies of our Governor and Denver Mayor have trickled down, turning Douglas County into a haven for criminals and homeless encampments.
As a fiscally responsible, pro-life, Christian conservative, I champion the principles enshrined in our Constitution. I firmly believe in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all. Limiting government to its proper role fosters stronger economies and empowers citizens.
My straightforward goals include:
- Transparency
- Integrity
- Genuine representation of my community
- Decisions rooted in the Constitution
- Advocacy for our county's interests at the state level
Family is the cornerstone of society and will always be my TOP PRIORITY.
I was born and raised in Nashville and lived there for 23 years until 1999, when I moved to Colorado to marry my incredible husband, Jay.
We have been married for 25 years and I am the proud mother to four beautiful and amazing boys who attend Douglas County public schools. We lost our only daughter to stillbirth in 2007.
We have called Douglas County our home for the last 20 years.
