Women's History Month with April Lawson, Director of Debates and Public Discourse at Braver Angels - Braver Angels is a national citizens' movement to reduce political polarization in the United States by bringing liberals and conservatives together to understand each other beyond stereotypes. We started 'Shadow Politics' with the idea that there is more that unites us than keeps us apart. Maria and I will have a discussion with April from Braver Angels - an organization that is trying to reconcile the differences that have separated us for so long in our politics. Can America find common ground to face the challenges of tomorrow?
Paradigm Shifters presents Peter Calhoun
This week on Paradigm Shifters:
Paradigm Shifters Unite! Life is changing. Humans are awakening, becoming aware of the mysteries of dimensions, beyond measure. Peter Calhoun, an older interview, is one of my favourite interviewees.... touting that that we are an unlimitable species..."systems busters.
Starting out as an Episcopal Priest… hmmmm… is that really a beginning? Peter awakened to humans as if there is a great canopy of beliefs and fears, that keeps all of us stooped shouldered and weighed down by controls. As his visions unrolled he took action, leaving the priesthood, becoming a shaman of healing, challenges like creating spontaneous combustion, imbuing dynamics in thoughts and intentions. We can do it too… UNLIMIT YOURSELF! In his last book Life without Limits, he tells you some ways to unravel. He and his partner Astrid, take you and I through the veils that have kept us “belonging”, small and afraid.
Peter passed but may well be UNLIMITED. Amidst the great shift, and the crucible of the lockdown he teaches us to release ourselves from controls and confinements within. It’s really a command of our cellular and energetic structure and We have a way to go but let's remember it is possible. Peter Calhoun, Shaman Priest, inspires and delights us with his assurance that we are indeed unlimited.

A Message from Veronica --
HELLO EVERYONE:
To vax or not to vax… it’s a vexing controversy. The basis of it all is Trust. Who do you trust? It’s an inner journey, a meet up with yourself. But I do know that
as we attack one another, we are distracted from our innate power, which weakens us through and through. It is a primitive style of finding power, a war.
When I notice, I am more adept at feeling the dissonance or the frequencies of fear and
defense, or maybe defiance, that separate us into “camps” It worked in Germany - that deliberate plan of engineering separation through Disinformation, and insult. IT kept people weak and confused, or angry. Often throughout history this has been used as a tool to weaken countries for easier conquering. This should guide us to want to look things up, to check out the words that are flagrant.
So, test out information, especially rampant information that divides you from your neighbours.
Breathe intensely to clear out other influences. Use research, or personally muscle testing to check what you hear.
The lockdown has us all in a crucible, and somehow all round the world, there are waves of evolution, one fire whose flames we can fan to enhance the wonders of learning to be unlimited.
Call for your session soon. Let’s talk about awakening to the real you! Your core in the midst of this evolutionary wave.
Love to all

Singer, Songwriter, Multi-instrumentalist
STEVE TAYLOR
With a sound steeped in the sunlit tones of Laurel Canyon, the mid 60’s pop and R&B of the Brill Building, and the lo-fi synths of early prog rock, Los Angeles resident Steve Taylor makes cinematic, impressionistic psych-folk that pushes the envelope of the singer/songwriter genre. A multi-instrumentalist with a remarkably diverse background, he’s been tapped to play with everyone from LA electro soul group Rhye to bass prodigy Tal Wilkenfeld. He’s steadily recorded his new opus, “The Land of Milk and Honey”, in between international tours and recording gigs. A sparse, moody, and soulful record, it is full of ruminations on the search for an idyllic paradise amidst the chaos and loneliness of modern day life. Sonically, you will find layers of vintage organs, pianos, analog synthesizers, and dead drums, creating a sound that’s both modern and thoroughly informed by 70’s AM rock.
Influenced by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Nick Drake, and Joni Mitchell, his last album “Has the Size of the Road Got the Better of You?” was recorded at home and at the venerable Tiny Telephone Studio in San Francisco. The record showed the expanded influence of gospel music, something he explored while he was a guitarist and organist at a number of prominent African American congregations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Performing solo and with his band, Steve has played hundreds of shows, including headlining slots at The Independent and The Chapel in San Francisco, The Echo and The Hotel Café in LA, and The Hope & Anchor in London. An avid busker, he has made many fans the old fashioned way, through singing his heart out and pounding out his songs on his portable Helpinstill piano, an electrified acoustic remnant from the 70’s.
In addition to being an active solo artist, Steve has played as a singer, keyboardist and guitarist with an incredibly diverse range of collaborators, including Rhye, Skylar Grey, Lauren Ruth Ward, Duane Betts, Rogue Wave, Nicki Bluhm, and members of the Grateful Dead, CAN, Guns n Roses, The Edwin Hawkins Singers, Deathcab for Cutie, and The Dirty Projectors.
“Steve Taylor’s dreamy, folky, solo songs recall a long lost time… resonate with sun-flared AM radio gold of the early 1970s as vintage tones warble from an old Wurlitzer while acoustic six-strings intertwine with the watery notes of a lazy electric slide guitar under Taylor crooning like a young Graham Nash.” – iTunes
Running for DC Council in Ward 2
I am running for DC Council because I believe we deserve a leader who we can trust to serve Ward 2 with integrity and transparency.
For the last two years, I have been working on behalf of District residents as the Assistant Attorney General for Policy and Legislative Affairs for the District of Columbia. I saw how LGBTQQIA+ victims of hate crimes were left without protection or recourse in the wake of their attacks. I learned how our small business community was being taken advantage of by out of state businesses defrauding our CBE program. And, I represented DC before the National Attorney General community to advocate for statehood, decriminalized cannabis, and data privacy legislation.
To address the needs of our community, I worked to advance workers’ rights, improve environmental justice, and expand civil rights and consumer protections through everything from data breach to hate crime legislation.
I grew up in Connecticut and I am the youngest of three siblings. I attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and earned my undergraduate degree in Business & Hospitality Administration. I then went on to work at a senior living community in New York where I found myself frequently feeling frustrated on behalf of my clients as I helped them navigate through their healthcare options. This led me to pursue a law degree at the Georgetown University Law Center.
During law school, I served as the Executive Articles Editor for the Journal on Poverty and Public Policy and volunteered at the Landlord Tenant Resource center providing advice to displaced tenants and aggravated landlords. I then advocated for seniors and advanced women’s health issues on Capitol Hill for Senator Blumenthal as his Health and Aging Fellow.
Knowing that I wanted to commit my career to public service, I joined the DC OAG, where I practiced law in our Tax and Finance group litigating cases on behalf of the DC Office of Tax and Revenue. I then moved on to work for Attorney General Racine on Policy, Legislative Affairs, and Legal matters where I was able to work on a broad array of issues plaguing our city.
I am deeply committed to serving the residents of DC and I want to ensure that Ward 2 has a representative on the Council whom they can trust — not only to operate ethically, but also to ensure the issues that matter most are addressed.
Through my experience representing DC residents, I was consistently inspired and impressed our community members’ commitment to equity and advancing justice. We have a lot to be proud of and a lot to work on. I want to be a partner in and advocate for that work.
I felt inspired to get in this race and ensure that an honest, fair, and devoted advocate is at the table. I would be honored and humbled to have your support.

Astrologer
Surviving 2020: what does astrology say we need to know about this year? There is so much going on around us with so much conflicting reporting in the news that it’s challenging to determine what is real and what isn’t.
Eric has forty years of experience as an astrologer. Eric feels that your life choices and career interests are at the heart of his business because he wishes to assist you in making your dreams and goals a reality in a practical way; whether it’s a question of clarity, intention or timing. The way your astrology chart describes your situation and the gift of impartial interpretation of that chart is what Eric offers his clients.
What I personally enjoy when getting a reading from Eric is that he answers whatever questions you have. Some astrologers say, oh, that means I have to do astrocartography so that is an additional fee; you get the idea. Well, Eric just does what he needs to do to answer your questions during the time that you have with him. He is insightful and genuinely cares about his clients.
Executive Coach
Kathleen studied psychology, English and modern history at Melbourne University and subsequently studied postgraduate criminology.
Applying what she had learned to her personal and professional lives became a passion. This led to the development of a personal program of continuous learning and to the creation of her company, Intuitive Insights, which focused on executive development, leadership coaching and community engagement.
The company concentrated on helping leaders, individuals and teams to understand the essence of who they are and how they can choose the way forward to give their work and life meaning and purpose.
Kathleen has coached over 300 executives around the world.
This balanced and fulfilling life came to a sudden and distressing full stop on 23 August 2011 when she suffered a major stroke.
Determined that her experiences might have lessons for others, and while she was still recovering in hospital from operations and treatment, she began the writing of Standing Up!. Given the state of her health, this was challenging enough, but the death of her parents within a few months of each other in October 2012 and February 2013 further tested her resolve to complete the book.
A further heavy blow came when one of her much-loved daughters, Dr Lucinda May Jordan, was diagnosed with breast cancer, also early in 2013. She subsequently passed away in May 2015.
Lucinda had been working with the McAuley Community Services for Women in Victoria. McAuley supports women and children experiencing family violence or homelessness.
Proceeds from the sale of Standing Up! are donated to McAuley Community Services.
