ELLIE LAKS
Ellie is the Founder of The Gentle Barn. She is responsible for the daily care of the animals and programs at The Gentle Barn and has been since The Gentle Barn’s inception in 1999. Ellie is the face of The Gentle Barn and manages daily posts on Facebook, twitter and the Blog. Ellie is also the Educational Outreach Director working with hundreds of inner-city, at-risk and special needs children each year and has directly rescued, cared for and supported thousands of animals that would otherwise have been killed. Ellie has dedicated her life to being the voice of the voiceless.
Ellie began her career working with special needs children and spaying and neutering and releasing feral cats in the alleys of Los Angeles. She started a dog training, walking, boarding and grooming business, that she used as a means to rescue animals from being put down at the animal shelters in Los Angeles. Ellie rescued and worked with about 500 dogs and cats before founding The Gentle Barn. Ellie is also a professional animal trainer and specializes in working with severely abused and mistrusting dogs.
The Gentle Barn is now home to over 170 animals in Santa Clarita, California, who Ellie has healed, along with twelve staff members, about a thousand volunteers and her husband Jay Weiner who runs The Gentle Barn with her. Once healed and happy, the animals help Ellie and Jay heal at-risk, inner-city and special needs children, who have the same stories as the animals. Ellie and Jay live on the property together, with their 3 children. Together they get to rescue and rehabilitate hundreds of animals each year and get to see miracles connecting animals and children every day. Ellie attended California State University, Northridge, specializing in childhood development.
“There is nothing more fulfilling to me than looking into the eyes of animals and children, who have no chance, telling them with certainty that they will be ok and then watching them go through the healing and growing process and coming out the other side and watching them become ambassadors helping others who are in their old shoes. It is what I live for each and every day.”

George Neo Short Biography July 2014 1978
RMIT graduate of Engineering (with distinction) launched a roller-coaster electronics design career with spectacular business success followed by a devastating court battle after George discovered the corruptive greed of his partners. George practiced Control, Discipline, Forbearance, & Timing, dealing with these mongrels means you can handle anyone. George now teaches these Shaman-Sorcerer disciplines as the ultimate Quest for Freedom.
Complex electronic design paralleled George’s intense yoga practice yielding immense boosts of personal energy & power. Compared to biological processes, technology seemed lame & redundant. He decided to quit a much-loved 26-year career, & just two days later, the Universe agreed with a redundancy notice – the entire office of engineers, physicists & administrators thought he was nuts as they had all lost their jobs while he had a huge smile on his face.
Magpie House Victoria established 2004 with Yogaplex Yoga School & Spiritual Cinema, therapists & world-class events, see www.magpiehouse.com.au .
Major campaigns launched on Chemtrails, Fluoridated Water, Pharmaceuticals, Fracking, & the Smart Grid with engineering expertise. In 2007, the wider Magpie House community decided Intentional Community was urgent. Fear collapsed the group, but rather than waste the intense joyful research a magnificent Tablelands 701 hectares was purchased. The Highly Evolved Being model derived from often painful primitive Human Nature interactions, with an offering to those prepared to acknowledge the highest of teachings & practice.

I have to admit…there are a couple of important life concepts that took me awhile to understand. First, many of the things we encounter in our lives are not always what they initially appear to be. And second, discovering the truth about something doesn’t always happen quickly or easily. Based on personal experience, and many years of observation, these two concepts seem to apply equally to things out in the world as well as people and situations close to home. Understanding these concepts has played a big part in my growth as an individual and as an educator.
After graduating from college with a degree in psychology – with little hope of getting a paying job – I supported myself and my family by working as a carpenter in the construction industry. For the most part, I enjoyed the work I was doing, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that I had another “true calling”. Over time, I began to notice that in my daily interactions with the world of commerce there were many inconsistencies and contradictions. Eventually, I found myself drawn to studying the history, origins and foundational concepts related to commerce. I began to understand that the commercial world we deal with every day is often not what it appears to be. And like many things in life that take time and effort to fully understand, at a certain point it became clear to me that my life’s work would focus on helping other people understand the truth about how commerce really works.
With humble beginnings performing soulful renditions of “Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog” on the school playground, Michael Wansley developed an affinity for music at an early age, performing wherever he could for anyone who would listen. As he worked towards his degree in music education, the newly nicknamed “Wanz” started his first band, Central Connection, eventually performing as a savvy stage man in groups such as The Ghetto Monks and Life Ring — soon sharing the stage with artists like Joe Williams, Bobby McFerrin, and Dizzy Gillepsie.
It was only a matter of time before Wanz grabbed the national spotlight.
Last summer, rising hip-hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis recruited Wanz for a hook on their song about shopping for second-hand clothes, a humble and forward-thinking track against the traditionally flashy hip-hop status quo. Partly thanks to Wanz’s unforgettable hook, “Thrift Shop” quickly climbed the Billboard charts before landing at number one and holding that spot for six weeks total, certifying the single as six-times platinum in the United States.
Wanz now tours the world with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, charming fans from all walks of life with his captivating vocals and unparalleled stage presence. Recent performances include Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Fallon, David Letterman, Ellen, and festivals such as South by Southwest and Bonnaroo, among others.
Currently, Wanz is putting the final touches on a solo EP, which is due out this summer. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Teddy Pendergrass and Bill Withers, Wanz blends pensive lyrics with tight, soulful grooves on his debut solo effort, producing a fresh sound that will capture your ears and stimulate your mind

Denis Korn, CEO Prepare Direct
Denis Korn is a long time expert on preparedness with food, water and medical supplies. This is a timely subject with global economic reset and geopolitical turmoil over currency revaluation.
Denis will share his perspective on the Big Shift portents that are getting a lot of buzz on the Internet.
Denis has taught college philosophy, and he will be dispelling the myths of fear-mongers about current supplies of food and prep items you may want for health, security and savings.
No one knows if or when economic crisis may deepen, but as Chuck Baldwin wisely counseled in his article on preparedness, “I fully realize that most of us Americans cannot fathom a world in which food cannot be obtained from the supermarket or fuel cannot be obtained from the corner gas station or that the power grid could be offline for more than a few hours. In the meantime, remember your Boy Scout motto: ‘Be Prepared’."
So tune in to Denis Korn for a philosophically correct perspective on the ‘Big Shift’ of global events in the months to come.
