Rusty grew up in Colorado, where a big part of the lifestyle is going outside on weekends to be in nature, camping, backpacking, river rafting and hiking. He retired from a 35-year career as a Hollywood producer and now lives happily in Rancho Mirage, California, where he writes illustrated children’s animal poetry books and the occasional non-fiction book for adults. The poems are always informative, for example he writes about bats using echolocation to fly and caimans using a nictitating membrane to see underwater. This exposes kids to something they didn’t know in a fun and unique way.
