In Honor of DC Emancipation Day, we have guest DORIE LADNER-Civil Rights Activist! Inspired by the work of Medgar Evers, Dorie Ladner has dedicated much of her life to the work of the civil rights movement. Deeply affected by the murder of Evers, as well as the four little girls killed in the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, Ladner welcomed the help and the attention that Freedom Summer volunteers brought to Mississippi in 1964. On this DC Emancipation Day, we will speak with Ms. Ladner to see if we can learn from her experiences as we pursue the goal of DC statehood. This busy week included the House Committee on Oversight and Reform mark-up and advance of H.R.51, the Washington, DC Admission Act. We are excited to talk with Ms. Dorie Ladner as her years of activism in civil rights in America is an inspiration to all of us who work on making every American citizen equal!!

Musician
WAYLON LONGSTRIDE
Waylon Longstride was born in Nashville TN. At age 16 his father taught him 3 chords and his mother taught him finger picking and he began to write and compose songs of his own. Over the years from what originated as country music, as his consciousness began to shift and expand his music soon followed and a new genre was born.
With subject matter from jacked up trucks to reincarnation, its hard to put a label and confine Waylon’s music to just one genre. With Choctaw roots and a deep connection to nature some would describe it as Conscious Country or Native American Outlaw Folk. Waylon tunes his music to 432hz which is the frequency of the earth to raise the cellular vibration of his Listeners.
“When music is channeled from the Divine It transcends all stereotypes, genres, race and limitations. It is frequency , as we are frequency and all that is is frequency and frequency has the power to activate and awaken truth, love, ancient wisdom and healing within an organism.
If we could all align with the frequency of Love it’d be Heaven on Earth.”

He began his duties as head of the agency on July 17, 2009. As Administrator, Bolden leads a nationwide NASA team to advance the missions and goals of the U.S. space program.
At NASA, Bolden has overseen the safe transition from 30 years of space shuttle missions to a new era of exploration focused on full utilization of the International Space Station and space and aeronautics technology development. Bolden has also supported NASA's contributions toward development of developing cleaner, faster, and quieter airplanes. The agency's dynamic science activities under Bolden include an unprecedented landing on Mars with the Curiosity rover, launch of a spacecraft to Jupiter, enhancing the nation's fleet of Earth-observing satellites, and continued progress toward the 2018 launch of the James Webb Space Telescope, the successor to the Hubble Space Telescope.
