Guest Occupation: Indie-Folk Musician, Sea Captain
Guest Biography:

Noah Solt is an Indie-Folk musician and sea captain whose music navigates the tension and release found in a journey of return. Through gentle, hymn-like melodies, poetic lyrics, and warm acoustic textures, his songs invite listeners to pause and reconnect with their inner luminosity.

Solt’s artistic path has been one of bold exploration and intentional reduction—distilling his work into a more intimate form. While growing up in the Rocky Mountains, Solt’s parents instilled a deep appreciation for simplicity, a clear mind, and a curiosity for the world.

After spending a year at Berklee College of Music, Solt decided to leave and pursue his lifelong dream of sailing worldwide. Yet it wasn’t until he returned from three years at sea that he fully understood how transformative that decision had been. The vast, mysterious, and indifferent sea had not only catalyzed an outward journey for Solt but an inward journey as well. Its raw presence had washed away distraction and allowed him to focus on what mattered. In that deeply personal space, Solt discovered that self-knowledge is life’s greatest treasure–a realization that continues to shape his music today.

Solt’s first album, Big Water, was recorded at the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and had a bold sound that reflected that chapter in his life. Yet, much like his experience at sea, Solt has since felt called to reduce his music to a more personal space of less sound and deeper resonance. His evolving style moves toward ethereal folk, though he continues to explore and refine this emerging direction.

Now anchored in San Francisco, Solt lives aboard his sailboat. The city’s vibrant creative energy and diverse culture fuel his artistic growth. His upcoming album, The Flight of Fallen Leaves, deepens this evolution. Blending poetic songwriting with the quiet wisdom gained from life at sea, Solt’s music reminds us that every step—no matter how uncertain—is part of a journey back home toward who we already are.

Solt’s unique background as a musician and sailor infuses his work with a rare depth and authenticity. His experiences sailing the world’s oceans have given him time to reflect on what really matters to him, creating an introspective and expansive sound. Solt’s performances, whether intimate house concerts or larger venue shows are known for creating a pause where audiences can find a moment to reflect on what matters to them.

As Solt continues to evolve as an artist, he remains committed to creating music that serves as a space for those seeking reconnection to themselves in an often chaotic world. His dedication to his craft and unique life experiences position him as a rising star in the Indie Folk scene, offering a space for listeners to pause, return to themselves, and reconnect with their inner luminosity.
