Veronica Porter was born and raised in Naperville when it was still considered a small farm town.  She caught the end of an era when you grew, gathered and prepared your own food.  It was a time that you learned from your elders, explored with your friends, and followed in the footsteps of time worn traditions. 

Veronica brings these values to modern times and shares her experiences by educating and strategizing for healthy, organic, heirloom gardening, farm to table food integrity, cooking, preservation and living life in a responsible, sustainable manner.  She is a third generation organic farmer, chef, and food educator for home and garden.

Named Real World Scholar, Gina researches, consults, and speaks on hydration strategies for health and agriculture. She founded Hydration Foundation.org to work with organizations, scientists and clinicians to promote optimal hydration for people, plants and soils. Her work advances structured water science, publicizing breakthrough findings of Dr. Gerald Pollack, renowned for his identification of the fourth phase of water. She convened the first ever TEDxNewYorkSalon event on structured water, featuring Dr. Pollack. Her own TEDxtalk, How to Grow Water: It's Not Only Blue, It's Green, identifies plants in hydration strategies around the globe.

She is co-author of QUENCH: A Five-Day Plan with Dr. Dana Cohen, MD and featured in the New York Times, O Magazine, NPR among others and is now in 6 languages. A breakthrough book with over 50 recipes, QUENCH shares the science of structured water, the newly identified phase of water with global implications. Her first book, The Art of Family: Rituals and Imagination was a Starbuck’s selection.

 

With a chorus of respected doctors and scientists, on Febraury 15-March 15, 2020 she launches the first ever, online HYDRATION SUMMIT, https://hydrationfoundation.org/hydration-solution-summit-2/ free to the public, it places hydration as the most potent, simple and effective health intervention we have. She is the originator of the You Tube Series: DOCTORS TALK HYDRATION. Her initiatives through the Hydration Foundation have accelerated research and practices in health and soil regeneration.

Among fav initiatives at the Hydration Foundation is our POP UP WATER MUSEUM: The Movement of Water, education through the artistry of Maxi Cohen; and Hydration Oasis at Ideal School, NYC. The Hydration Foundation is known for pilot projects which quickly turn into standard best practices.

Her chapter The Role of Hydration in Health and Wealth, A New Global Agenda, ed., D. Ayton-Shenker, serves as Policy Advising for UN SDGs, with Appendix on Agricultural Application of Structured Water.

Mike Pinera, singer, guitarist and songwriter is known around the world as the driving force from legendary and iconic bands Iron Butterfly (In A Gadda Da Vida) Blues Image (Ride Captain Ride) Alice Cooper Band (Schools Out) and Mike Pinera solo (Goodnight My Love.)

Pinera formed The Blues Image in Tampa. A progressive blues band playing rare blues songs by iconic British blues bands.

He and Blues Image moved to Miami where they were co-founders of the famous rock venue THEE IMAGE in Miami Beach. Mike headlined and performed weekly with such legendary artists as The Grateful Dead, Eric Clapton & The Cream, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors & others.

One year later they moved to Hollywood California Mike and received a recording contract from Atlantic Records where they had a huge hit with RIDE CAPTAIN RIDE which Mike co-wrote and sang. Ride Captain went to number 3 on the Billboard Charts earning a platinum record award.

Mike played in the IRON BUTTERFLY who received the first Platinum Record Award ever given to any artists.

Iron Butterfly Albums which feature Pinera are METAMORPHOSIS with PINERA & RHINO which hit number 16, EVOLUTION, BEST OF IRON BUTTERFLY, LIGHT & HEAVY, IN A GADDA DA VIDA Laser Video Disc.

The single EASY RIDER written by Pinera reached number 66 on the Billboard charts making it the band's biggest hit aside from In A Gadda Da Vida. The album is noted for having the first use of the guitar talkbox which Mike co-invented.

During this time Pinera discovered and co-produced Black Oak Arkansas on Atlantic Records resulting in a multi-million seller, now multi-platinum.

He and iconic JIMI HENDRIX drummer MITCH MITCHELL formed the band RAMATAM recording the album RAMATAM. The group was acclaimed as a cutting-edge progressive rock band.

In the mid-seventies Pinera joined Cactus. He and Ted Nugent went on a national tour together. They turned their nightly jamming at the end of the shows into a climactic finale entitled “THE GUITAR BATTLE OF THE CENTURY.” It was an exciting blend of high energy playing, wrestling and audience participation.

In 1980, Mike joined up with longtime pal ALICE COOPER for two world tours.

In 1992, Mike formed the first original Classic Rock Supergroup, THE CLASSIC ROCK ALL-STARS. The band included lead singers and stars from RARE EARTH, SUGARLOAF, SPENCER DAVIS, Headhunters and himself. Special guests included members of Kansas, Toto, Allman Brothers, Steppenwolf, Moody Blues, and many others. They were the NUMBER ONE CLASSIC ROCK SUPERGROUP in the world.

EDOARDO COSTA

Italian actor, entrepreneur and former model. His career began in the fashion industry as a model in the early 1990s for the modeling agency Why Not. Desiring something more, he began studying acting in Paris and Milan as well as in Los Angeles at The Actors Studio. He soon made television appearances on various American television series including Baywatch, Arliss, The Bold and the Beautiful.

Costa also made a variety of independent American films leading to his debut in a first major feature as the terrorist Emerson, in the final installment of the Die Hard series, Live Free or Die Hard, with Bruce Willis, Timothy Olyphant, Justin Long, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. His first major role in an American film was in the soon to be released drama Kiddie Ride, directed by Harold Guskin and starring James Gandolfini and Famke Janssen.

Costa continues to work in both the United States and Italy. He has made forays into theater in the plays, Bread Love Fantasy and Very Old Man, alongside Italian acting legend Marcello Mastroianni (Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita) and worked on numerous Italian soap operas, television series, films and reality shows.

Costa was born in Varese, northern Italy, the son of a Rosangela, who worked at the local electric company and Pietro Cicorini, a transport business owner. Costa is the eldest of two children, he and his sister Monica. Costa attended Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore where he studied philosophy. He served his military service as a Carabinieri in the mid 1980s. It was during this that he was discovered in a local Milanese restaurant bar by a modeling scout.

Costa’s modeling has seen him work in Paris, Moscow, Los Angeles and Tokyo. He has appeared in print and television commercials for brands including Giorgio Armani, Laura Biagiotti, Versace, Tissot, Cerutti, Diet Coke and Toyota. In 1999, he began his acting career with a part in a popular Italian television series, going on to appear in further television programs and several Italian films.

In 2007 Costa took control of Beatrice International Models, an agency with forty years experience in the fashion industry on a par with Ford Models, Elite and Next. Former models include Iman and Stephanie Seymour. The venture catapulted Costa into the international spotlight. The modeling agency also recently began a formal dialogue with The National Eating Disorders Association and its CEO, Dr. Lynne Grefe. Beatrice International Models will be the first international modeling agency that will work together with the association to spread awareness and positive prevention about the diseases that have plagued the industry for decades.

In 2007, Costa also opened The Actor’s Academy Milano. Inspired by his experience at The Actor’s Studio, Costa began one of the first schools in Europe to exclusively recruit Lifetime Members of the Actor’s Studio as well as teachers from the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, all of whom specialized in method acting using the system created by Constatin Stanislavski. The Actor’s Academy Milano hosted acclaimed actors such as Academy Award winner Martin Landau and Oscar nominated actor Mickey Rourke. The Actor’s Academy Milano has asked Gary Swanson to play a pivotal role in its development. Swanson was one of the first teachers to start “Inside the Actor’s Studio” hosted by James Lipton. Swanson was among the few personally chosen by the executive committee that includes the late Paul Newman, Ellen Burstyn, and Arthur Penn.

Costa began charitable work in the mid 1990s while still a model. Through a friendship with Quincy Jones, Costa has used his celebrity to support projects in Afghanistan, Brazil and Africa. Costa states that it was Nelson Mandela who encouraged him to become more actively involved in philanthropic work.

Cattle Rancher

Mark has a herd of Black and Red Angus cattle in Eastern Colorado.  His cattle graze in open pastures during the summer and are fed a combination of hay and grain during the winter. His herd expands every spring with the addition of calves. Mark's herd has grown to over 50 with more calves on the way.

School Board Member

Mark was the longest serving school board member for Lewis-Palmer School District 38 since term limits were enacted.  He was elected three times serving 12 years. He served twice as President and held every position during his tenure.  Lewis-Palmer is a high-achieving school district with one of the highest on-time graduation rates in the state of Colorado.

During his tenure the school district maintained a balanced budget, increased reserves, and was ranked as one of the top ten school districts in Colorado.

He completed his fourth and final term in December of 2019.

Bill Barretta began performing with The Jim Henson Company in 1991 and has become one of the core Muppet performers.

Originally from Philadelphia Pa, Barretta was trained at The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City under the late, great Sanford Meisner and has appeared in several films and television shows such as, Murder in the

First, Born to Be Wild, Jack and the Beanstalk: The Real Story, (which he also co-wrote and received a Saturn Award), Nightmares and Dreamscapes and more recently, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Barretta began his career with The Jim Henson Company, landing the character of Earl Sinclair on the ABC hit television series Dinosaurs. From there, he transitioned to supporting and then ultimately featured roles, making his film debut as a principal performer playing Clueless Morgan in Muppet Treasure Island.

Barretta soon developed several new characters on the ABC series Muppets Tonight, including Pepé the King Prawn, Johnny Fiama and Bobo the Bear, to name a few.

Along with having his own Muppet creations, Barretta is honored to have taken over several of Jim Henson’s roles: Rowlf the Dog, The Swedish Chef, Dr. Teeth and Mahna Mahna.

In addition, Barretta has served as coordinator, co-producer and executive producer for many Muppet projects over the last twenty-six years, including It’s a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie, The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz, Muppets Letters to Santa, The Muppets, Muppets Most Wanted, the most recent ABC Primetime series The Muppets, and the highly successful live shows, The Muppets Take The Hollywood Bowl, and The O2 Arena.

Barretta has directed, produced and written countless projects for the Muppets over the last twenty-six years including commercials for, UL, Long John Silvers, Pizza Hut, Subway, Lipton, Toyota, PAM and an abundance of Social Media content.
