MICHAEL FITZPATRICK

Hailed by The New York Times as a “[Rebel] marching to [his] own tunes” and by NPR as “An interpreter of the Muse,” Michael Fitzpatrick is at the forefront of utilizing music as a vehicle for increasing compassion in the world.

Recipient of The Prince Charles Award for Musical Excellence conferred by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, Sir George Martin, Producer of The Beatles, stated: “Michael Fitzpatrick is beyond a marvelous talent, and I could not agree with him more: music is the only thing that can change the world.”

Fitzpatrick comes from a family of musicians and artists of Polish, Ukrainian, Catalonian, French, and Irish lineage, including Rose Bein Lerman, pianist and vocal-coach to famed Cantor and Metropolitan Opera star Jan Peerce – and the legendary Polish-Jewish violin soloist Bronislaw Huberman – Founder of The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.

For the past 25 years, he has shared the stage with His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama, performing the Musical Keynotes to set the tone for His Holiness’ Public Talkings and Teachings around the globe. His Holiness stated: “The emotion induced by Michael Fitzpatrick’s music is so powerful it seems almost verbalized. His sound is Clear Light.”

In recognition of his unique musical role in the world, Fitzpatrick was most recently invited to perform the Musical Keynotes for the Holy Father, Pope Francis’ Blessing Ceremony at The Vatican. He has performed as soloist at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Hollywood Bowl, the United States Capitol West Lawn, the United States Capitol, the United Nations, the Aspen Music Festival, the Spoleto Festival of Two Worlds, Times Square New York, the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., the Jordanian Royal Palace, Bethany-beyond-the-Jordan, the Dead Sea, and with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra in Jerusalem.

Cleary is the Founder and Creator of ‘World Animal News,’ which covers the latest breaking animal, environmental, and plant-based news from around the world. She is also the President and Founder of the animal welfare organization, ‘Peace 4 Animals.’ She produced and wrote the award-winning documentary, ‘Give Me Shelter,’ that premiered on Netflix in 2015, and just finished her second documentary titled ‘Why On Earth,’ which follows the work of the leaders at the forefront of the animal welfare movement.

California orthopaedic surgeon Jennifer M. Weiss, MD, became chair of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Communications Cabinet at the organization’s 2018 Annual Meeting.

The AAOS’ Communications Cabinet promotes musculoskeletal health, injury prevention, and the specialty of orthopaedics through media relations and internal and external communications, including its member magazine, AAOS Now. Through its activities, the Communications Cabinet oversees, coordinates and supports the leadership of the AAOS in the accomplishment of their goals and objectives within the priorities of the overall strategic plan and provides liaison support to other Councils, the Board of Specialties, Board of Councilors and other advisory boards.

Dr. Weiss is an orthopaedic surgeon at Southern California Permanente Medical Group, Los Angeles Medical Center and specializes in pediatric sports medicine. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente in 2011, she practiced at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Santa Monica Orthopaedic Group as director of the Pediatric Sports Program.

Dr. Weiss graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. She completed her internship in general surgery and a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, followed by a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedics at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

She has been active with the AAOS for nearly a decade, and most recently served as a mentor in the Leadership Fellows Program, and was a fellow herself in that program in 2010 to 2011. Dr. Weiss also served on the nominating committee for the Board of Specialty Societies. In addition to holding a previous term on the Communications Cabinet, she also served as a Member at Large on the Board of Directors and on the Women’s Health Advisory Board.

Dr. Weiss also is an active member of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America (POSNA), serving that organization as the most recent Communications Council Chair on their Board of Directors.

Dr. Weiss lives in Los Angeles with her family.

Joel Franco was born in Italy and came to the United States in his late teens where he quickly immersed himself in American culture and film. According to Franco, “I have always admired American films. The American school of acting has a long history of producing great actors and I wanted to be a part of the world of film–a place where captivating stories are unveiled. The creation of film plays into my strengths: I love that magic is the result of the creative process. There must be passion to nurture the momentum of the story. And one must have intense focus to get the job done.” 



Influenced by American filmmaker Sidney Lumet for his vigorous storytelling and Italian director Robert Rossellini for his social realism, Franco is dedicated to staying true to the story in a fast paced, realistic and refined style. 



In 2006, Franco partnered with Solidaris LLC to found Chesapeake Films, LLC. Chesapeake Films has option agreements to produce several feature films and plans to produce two features per year in-house and to collaborate with established film companies for additional opportunities.



Joel Franco is a graduate of University of Maryland/Baltimore, a graduate of the USC-Universal Producing and Directing Program, and holds an M.F.A. in film production from the School of Film and Television at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
