by Lewis R. Franzini Ph.D.

Release date: January 06, 2026

Synopsis

The judicious use of humor is often cited as the reason a new relationship began. It is also frequently recognized as the reason it has lasted. People like to be with others who make them laugh and who, in turn, enjoy their own humorous comments. Humor is an effective tool in nearly all settings, from formal interactions in the workplace to casual exchanges with strangers.

How Humor Helps… informs its readers how to determine what is funny and what is not. Complicating the picture is that the appropriate use of humor has recently changed drastically in terms of topics and language. This book emphasizes the positive values of humor in many areas of life and how to deliver it effectively.

Based on the scientific literature, the views of professional comedians, and our awareness of cultural changes, the author’s recommendations are all designed to affect major personal benefits to the reader. Maybe greater longevity, too, as the latest evidence is that strong social connections, facilitated by clever humor, actually can make people happier, self-confident, and even physically healthier. This book stresses the value of using humor in most areas of your life and how to do it successfully to garner the greatest benefits.

Holly May Cormier

Hi there!

I’m Holly May Cormier, author of Memphis, an emotional domestic thriller about love, survival, and reclaiming your power after abuse. I’m also a true crime YouTube creator, where I dive into stories of real-world domestic cases, narcissistic abuse, and the thin line between devotion and danger.

My work bridges fiction and reality — exploring how the same psychological patterns that make true crime so gripping also play out in women’s lives every day. I’d love to join your podcast to talk about:

🖤 The psychology of control and survival in relationships
💜 How fiction and true crime overlap — and what they teach us about human behaviour
🧡 Healing and empowerment after trauma
💔 Why readers are drawn to stories about resilience and redemption
✨ The making of Memphis — and the inspiration behind my focus on women’s strength through darkness

Listeners who enjoy thrillers, emotional women’s fiction, or true crime storytelling would resonate with this discussion. I always aim to leave audiences with both goosebumps and hope — reminding them that survival can be a story worth celebrating.

Richard Kuhns, B.S.Ch.E. is the author of How to Get Your Life Back from Morgellons and Other Skin Parasites and the creator of the King Diet Protocol which is a very strict diet that has helped hundreds reclaim their health from debilitating skin parasites. After developing the King Diet in the mid-1990s to overcome his own battle with skin parasites, Kuhns has become widely recognized as one of the world’s leading authorities on the condition.

Unlike conventional perspectives that isolate Morgellons as a standalone issue or dismiss it as psychological, Kuhns takes a holistic view. His research and experience suggest that Morgellons acts as a trigger, awakening dormant organisms in the body. Organisms such as nematodes, fungi, mites, Lyme disease, Strongyloides, and others that collectively contribute to the complex symptom profile. Through his free online program and extensive library of educational resources, Kuhns empowers sufferers to take control of their health by addressing the root causes through diet.

With a background in chemical engineering and decades of hands-on experience, Kuhns blends scientific insight with practical guidance. His work continues to inspire a growing community of individuals seeking answers beyond the limitations of conventional medicine.

Silvia Resnik

Everyone talks about empowerment, but few know what it actually looks like when life gets real. My work bridges Austria and Tanzania, the West and the Maasai community - two worlds that challenge everything we think we know about freedom, self-love, and women’s rights. I coach women in the West through emotional healing and clarity, and in Tanzania I run Empower Her, a grassroots project fighting FGM and supporting Maasai girls. I challenge the comfortable narratives, expose the blind spots, and show what true empowerment looks like when culture, humanity, and transformation collide.

Marc Defant
My name is Marc Defant, and I’m a professor at the University of South Florida. I recently published a peer-reviewed paper in Sexuality & Culture titled “Evolutionary Psychology and the Crisis of Empirical Rigor in Feminist Studies.” Follow this link if you are interested in seeing the paper: https://rdcu.be/eOkjZ

The paper argues that much of modern feminist scholarship has drifted from empirical science into ideology, rejecting biological and psychological evidence that explains sex differences in behavior, preferences, and outcomes. Drawing on research in evolutionary psychology, neuroscience, and behavioral biology, I examine topics such as the gender pay gap, patriarchy, and rape theory through an evidence-based lens -- and show how the data tell a very different story from what’s usually taught in feminist studies on campus or in "woke" media.

I believe your audience would be interested in an honest, data-driven discussion of these issues -- one that challenges dogma but stays grounded in peer-reviewed science. I’d be happy to discuss the paper and would welcome the opportunity to appear on your podcast to discuss its findings and implications for academic freedom and public discourse.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Kavya Thakrar

our audience will enjoy my perspective because I speak as a young author who created a book that highlights the voices of women in many fields. My work Bows and Ties grew from a desire to understand how women build confidence, find purpose, and shape their paths. I gathered nineteen interviews with founders, creators, leaders, and innovators who shared their stories with honesty and generosity. These stories show that ambition can begin at any age, and that inspiration often arrives when we see real people who faced real challenges and still continued to grow. I believe this message is powerful for listeners of all ages because it shows that achievement is not limited by background or youth. It begins when someone decides to take the first step.

I speak not only as the author but also as a student leader who knows what it feels like to have an idea that seems too big. Many young people think that they have to wait until adulthood to make an impact. My goal is to help them understand that they can start now. I created this book at sixteen, while balancing school, leadership roles, and community work. I learned that meaningful projects are built one choice at a time, and that storytelling is one of the strongest tools for empowerment. When listeners hear the voices of these women, they feel encouraged to imagine themselves in new ways. They see that success is not linear. It is shaped by creativity, mentorship, resilience, and the confidence to try even when the outcome is uncertain.

What makes my perspective unique is the contrast between my age and the depth of the stories I gathered. I approached each interview with curiosity about what motivates women and what lessons they would want younger generations to carry forward. Many of them shared insights about identity, leadership, community, and the importance of trusting your own voice. These themes resonate with listeners because they speak to universal experiences. People of all ages understand what it means to doubt themselves or to question their place in the world. My interviews show that doubt and progress often exist together, and that confidence is something we build through action.

I also hope to be interviewed about the creative process behind Bows and Ties. Listeners will enjoy hearing how the book came from a simple idea and grew into something larger than I expected. I can share how I selected interview subjects, crafted questions, and shaped the book into a cohesive narrative. I can also talk about the challenges of writing and editing as a young author, from learning how to manage deadlines to finding the courage to ask accomplished women to share their stories. These behind the scenes details help listeners understand that big projects are approachable when broken into steps.

Another topic I hope to discuss is how young people can use storytelling to build community. I speak about how stories create connection, spark empathy, and inspire new opportunities. I also love to share the impact the book has had so far. I have brought Bows and Ties to schools, libraries, and events where students have told me that the book made them feel seen. That is the greatest outcome I could hope for.

I would also welcome questions about leadership, motivation, and what it means to pursue goals with purpose. Many listeners enjoy hearing how teenagers think about ambition and responsibility. My message is simple. Your ideas matter. Your voice matters. Your dreams are allowed to take up space.

Kavya Thakrar is a teen author and student leader whose work focuses on creativity, empowerment, and the voices of women across many career paths. She is the creator of Bows and Ties, a collection of nineteen interviews with founders, creators, executives, and innovators who share their stories of resilience and ambition. Kavya wrote the book to show young people that meaningful ideas can begin early and that confidence grows when we learn from the experiences of others.

Along with her writing, Kavya is an active student leader involved in business, media, community projects, and youth advocacy. She speaks to schools, after school programs, and community groups about the value of storytelling, leadership, and believing in your potential at any age. Her goal is to inspire young people to take ownership of their ideas and to see themselves as capable of creating change now, not later.
