How I Lost 50# Without Even Trying ©2015 Joan Newcomb
I stopped growing when I was twelve but kept eating. By the time I was 14, I weighed the same as I would when I was 9 months pregnant with each of my kids.
My parents sent me to see a psychologist. He was fat, with greasy hair and dandruff on his shoulders. He gave me a 200 question assessment. Afterwards he told me I was depressed, because I was overweight.
I have to say I was a little put off. Who was this guy to say *I* was fat?!?! I refused to see him again.

Respond-Ability ©2015 Joan M. Newcomb, CPC
Responsibility is such a heavy word. Being responsible can mean taking the blame or being at fault when things go wrong. Being responsible can mean that you're the only one being accountable for the success or failure an endeavor.
Suck it up. Put on your big girl panties.
Responsibility sounds like no fun at all.
Responsibility is the ability to respond. When something happens, you are at choice to respond or react.
Should a Pessimist Even Care About Being an Optimist?
So I’ve been pondering if a pessimist should care about being more optimistic and I say YES. I say this for several reasons. First of all, there are many research studies done on the major mental and physical health improvements that typically occur when we are more optimistic. I’m talking about lower stress, less depression, more energy, more resilience and more success in life, to name a few.
So many of us constantly have positive affirmations pasted on our refrigerator, mirrors, desks and any other place we can find. Do you ever wonder why you keep saying the same statement over and over again with no result?
Have you ever pondered that maybe if you keep saying "I am healthy, rich and wise" that your sub conscious will eventually get it ? Is it possible that you already are healthy, rich and wise and aren't acknowledging it?
There are many laws that we operate under or by. The laws of nature or spiritual laws, the laws of the physical universe and our own laws.
Many folks know the law of attraction, the law of karma and maybe a few more, yet there are many many more which affect us every day, whether we know them or not.
Have you ever felt like you didn't belong, or were just "faking it until you make it"? Maybe you were promoted at work, or won a prize, something you felt absolutely certain that you didn't deserve.
We've all been there, and some of the most high-achieving of us feel it more than others. Will Smith confessed on a talk show that he wakes up in the middle of the night with anxiety. I've known independently wealthy people who need to have enough money for an entire year in their bank account, when someone else feels financially confident with a monthly paycheck.
We have three parts of us....subconcious, super concious and our conscious. Therefore, all three have to work together for our production and Souls Journey to be exciting and forward moving.
If you are anything like I am, I used to think positive all the time, yet my subconcious had a mind of its own and was fighting my positive thoughts 24/7.
It took energy work of great magnatude to handle the constant battle going on amongst the different consciousness parts. Working together in one direction on your individual soul's journey is the key.
Nobody's Ascending Anywhere ©2015 Joan M. Newcomb
One of my readers asked me some great questions "what's going on vis-a-vis the overall evolution of mankind. Are some" developed" people going to ascend by 2024? 2014 has passed and we're still here."
I answered this in a recent Mystic Minute Video, and wanted to spell it out more clearly here: ain't nobody ascending anywhere.
