keeping you up at night we talked about money tax reduction saving more spending less 401K risk management retirement and everything under the sun that relates to you having a healthier happy relationship with money now here is your host of saving with Steve Steve Sexton
welcome to the shaving with Steve show where we talked about the ins-and-outs of money pretty much everything under the sun that released you having a healthier happy relationship with money I want to thank you all for joining us my name is Steve Sexton we have well over 600,000 listeners and viewers were really excited about that so thanks for sharing your friends and family with us today we're going to be talking about covid-19 done for a lot of people in the work world is there thinking about he might work prospects people looking to find new ways to take back control over their lives we have Luke vanderveer who teaches people how to build a passive income by generating leads for local businesses the big thing here he's helping people leave the corporate world would say all love we're also going to be talking about there's 57 million gig workers in America and you know by 2023 it's probably going to do
which means a lot of people are going to have to figure out in Gig work how do they prepare for retirement so we'll be talking about that now this part you don't ever want to miss and the reason being is everybody sometime in their life just have enough one of the sell everything jump in the motorhome and travel around the United States around the world for that matter we have Spencer and Christy Stephens they have a website and blog called Adventure tunity family they just here to tell us all about it they've got this really cool 37-foot vacationer Fleetwood Motorhome and I can't wait to talk to so we have them right here you can probably see their smiling faces on the street Christian welcome to the show thanks for being with us today I see thanks for having us
where is Montana in like the Whitefish area just outside of the Glacier National Park to where I'm at is 102 today here's the story and only thing I really know is that you lived in Baltimore Maryland sold everything but you and Kayden the motor home and started traveling the country to go and do that and then we have a whole bunch of other question when we have the opportunity to take what we kind of call of sabbatical we went to New Zealand and Australia for 6 weeks it was the first time we've ever spent that much time together as a family and we loved it and we got to see our son grow up in front of our eyes we were previously in Corporate America we traveled a lot which is fantastic but we realize we were missing a lot on that fan
only time so when we came home we put some goals to paper we put a plan in place and we asked ourselves one question and that was if you had everything you needed to make a change would you and we said we called BS on ourselves because we did to make that change you really had to give up some things you had to sacrifice we couldn't spend every day together as a family and still have three cars and a big single-family home and a lot of the things that Society tells us kind of work to achieve or that's the goal to have and so yeah we kind of redefine success for ourselves and decided that we were going to take a little bit more control of our lives and go seek adventure and embrace the opportunity so we took our corporate knowledge created our own businesses so that all father
the couple year old Holiday Rambler vacationer it's like a big a class motorhome and it's our home on wheels
that's awesome tell me some of the places that you've been too we actually in a couple of days hit a year so we'll have been on the road for a year we like to stay in a location for a month at a time that gives us a little bit of time to rest work and experience the some of our favorite places have been in Utah we spent four months in Utah between like Park City Zion National Park Moab we love Page Arizona we've seen Sedona we seen the Grand Tetons I'm worried we spent two months here and Glacier National Park area amazing when you start spending time in the west because it's very different from what we know being on the East Coast
but that it's funny because in my previous corporate life I actually develop business is overseas so I love spending a month or more in one place because you get to know the people you start developing some relationships you understand the custom-house things are a little bit different but at the same time those people will also share things with you were mortally this experience is with you for example when I was in England I met somebody who's a travel concierge are in this travel concierge what he did if you did private tours for people and he was like consider the aid level type thing so when we would take Hampton Court Palace we got to walk into the internal walls of the castle which mean do you know how you see they're freaky movies where they push on something and it was
oh my gosh and then we popped out next to the Hedge mazes that King Henry the eighth's please we popped out this one here we are everybody else is on the other side so I totally get that that's so cool you know what's the favorite place that you've been to we differ a little bit but Kanab Utah which really wasn't on our radar it's in southern Utah it has a lot of those beautiful slot canyons that you seem so like really cool curbing very tall Canyons there's a place called The Wave which was my bucket list Place actually and it's a lottery system to see it we won the lottery and we got the hike to the most magnificent like I think eight the world Wonder kind of place
it looks like somebody poured rock over the landscape it's really smooth and it's really hard and it's got strips of like orange and white Sherbert I mean when I got there I was teary-eyed because I wanted to see this so much we got to see it and it was
so much more than the photos I mean it was everything you know about rock being Jagged and hard and this is like Smooth Levi Brock Work Out World here is a question I know you have a son Kate how old is Kade it's four-years-old okay so what he think of that he actually didn't get to go on that it's a pretty intense hike it's three miles there through the desert there is very little wayfinding there's only so many people that are allowed in a day and so we went with some other folks and we had some people hang back and watch him for us what would be considered grueling hikes he's done some six miles before so he's pretty he's got some good mountain goat legs
what is real like I want some
we always have his snacks yet
selecting a vehicle is really important and I just so you know a motorhome means in our family and my in-laws had a big old 45-foot Monaco and all that kind of stuff so why this 37-foot Rambler
we picked the Holiday Rambler because a family friend of ours had a couple of them in the past and he said great things about him and so when we found the one that we actually have it was the first one that we even went to look at and the moment we walked into it
we knew it was home another thing to like we're Adventures so we want a little bit of both worlds would love to be at a campground that has all the luxuries in the hot tubs in the pool but we also want that lead up to a beautiful waterfall or Lone Rock in a gorgeous with lakes in Arizona and it's a Holiday Rambler makes their coaches so you can Boondock easily with your generator and your batteries and so we really loved that they built their units for the lifestyle we want to live whether it's luxury RV parks or it's off the grid and it felt like home so we still have a full residential fridge my son has bunk bed so he has a room we have a roommate has a bath and a half so we weren't giving up all the luxuries we just live in a smaller space
I understand that I just wanted everybody else did or stand it you know whatever Hulu how I can't live in that small thing but other than driving you're not really in it I mean it even when we are like on a rain day or something we feel like we're Subspace somebody can be at the front of the coach working or hanging out on the couch somebody can be in the back bedroom watching a movie our son has his own space we both are learning center wall so he can draw he can do his alphabet letters we do a little bit schoolwork in there so kids home schooled in
PS4 so we don't necessarily stay home school because we don't follow a particular program but Mother Nature is just school he's learning about animals that are nocturnal he's learning about trees that decompose than bugs when we're on the hike but we do practice letter he he knows his alphabet he can recognize the letters we can talk 1200 we just flash cards but it's when she wants to do it so it's very sporadic or 4 at the laundromat I bring flash cards and we do flash cards while we're waiting for the laundry but it's not a formal program
when it comes to staying at a luxury RV park or a Boondock place where you just pull up and they give you a spot what does it typically cost to the RV park what do they typically cost per night is like a regular hotel or is it less expensive
it depends so if you're going on vacation there are some RV parks that are just as nice as a hotel with Waterpark all the activities paddle boards and they can be north of $100 a night because we live on the road that's not the budget that we typically have so we look for monthly rates and we've stayed at an RV park for as little as $500 a month dollars a month in the average per night is somewhere probably around 45 to $55 and can be free
if you're staying at a state park or national park they usually give you like a 14-day limit that you can stay and it's anywhere from 12 to $24 a night and then there's of course memberships out there and different kinds of platforms and programs one is called Harvest hosts which is our favorite and it's a membership it's like $100 a year and you can stay for free at any participating business like Vineyards distilleries museums farms and so as you're traveling you can stay a night without hook up so it is like boondocking for free with that $100 a year membership text me you would have flowing water inside your RV you would have electric and then sewer so to be able to use your bathroom and your showers
showers you just got to go bring him and stuff learning curve buy stuff for people and there's some people like how I want to get into the motorhome and all that kind of stuff and they're planning a trip for the first time in they're going to rent and I said I was so it does this place have hookups and I'm like what's that in the last thing you want is for you to have too much waste in your motorhome if it's not a Happy Feeling everybody stick with this woman be right back with more Christian Spencer more expert advice for having a happier relationship with money still to come on the saving with Steve show
don't let your somebody wants to go check out all the lovely pictures that you have in the stories and and everywhere cuz they want to plan a trip working they go
we have a YouTube channel adventure to Unity family as well as Instagram and Facebook everything is under Adventure tuna family we share daily see what we have going on the beautiful places for visiting tips and tricks how to we actually even share our monthly budget each month and how we did if we were over or under budget but you know I just got to say this when you were talking about how much campsites cost the reality is somebody could take their family on a trip like this and it could be relatively inexpensive cuz if you're spending $1,300 for a month and a world where rents her twenty-five hundred and $3,000 especially from where you used to live cuz I used to live in that area like things like that make a big difference it's different when obviously if you go out every night it's expensive but if you're cooking your own meals
that's a big difference just a few minutes going to break your drinking out of his cooler cups but I'm assuming if you're in those areas you're probably getting it out of a stream sometimes which is probably better for a lot cleaner glacial water is so tasty we don't have the same issues as water it's always nicer things that people need to be cognizant of when they're driving because now obviously they have a 37 foot or 40 foot or 31 foot that's a lot of car or a lot of trucks so to speak what are the type of things that people need to be concerned about when they're driving
I would say the top thing that I realized very quickly was all those road signs and speed advisory signs for on and off ramps that you never paid attention to cuz he thought they were comically slow now apply directly to you when you're driving a vehicle this large so if you see an off-ramp that has that yellow 35 mile an hour recommended speed limit make sure you had that the other biggest one is take left turns wider than you think you need to and take right turns even wider than that because you're definitely creating a wider turn in a larger vehicle
so you say that like there's some experience there when we got our vacation I hadn't driven a vehicle that's large or even close to this large so it was definitely a learning curve Inn in understanding how big the vehicle was and needing to expand my thoughts on acceleration and braking distances understand changing lanes on the highway is is definitely a lot more checks in the mirror before actually moving over there was a lot of things to learn but after about a year now I'm really comfortable with it and really enjoy driving that actually this is a question that came from one of the block there was just a single question and it's from somebody who's actually going to be out and renting a motorhome for a month and he said how much do I need to pay attention to other drivers because they don't realize how
that is definitely a factor so and I think that's common like you'll see people cut off 18-wheelers trying to get to an exit ramp or trying to get in line or something and the understanding is that the more weight you're carrying the longer it's going to take for you to slow down or stop and I think that's that's one thing so if somebody comes in jumps in front of you on the highway you're definitely going to want it then slow down and give yourself more distance between them and you if they're not paying attention to the distance between the two of you that's then your responsibility so you just want to make sure that you have enough distance between you and the other cars to give yourself some breaking room in case you need it just be patient because those people who are doing that have no clue exactly the other part of it too is like just enjoy the journey there's no need to really rush because that's when mistakes happen so it is just kind of enjoy the road enjoy the journey to be
sing about our our vacation or being a Class A is that it has the huge windshield and when we're driving through the mountains it's just great to see the view enjoy the trip as much as the destination one thing we found really helpful every family is different every family has different you know travel tips that work for them but we like to move in 325 hour increments so we try to keep our travel days averaging around for hours and give herself plenty of time cuz Spencer said we don't want to be in a rush to rush add stress like we are trying to live a different life in happy life and giving herself that time and not feeling like we have to be checking in are making it 12-hour day when we don't need to so that's a great thing when your home is essentially on Wheels you can control how far you drive where are you stopping that's why those places like Harvest hosts are so great if you're trying to get somewhere that's 12 hours you can just stop overnight at one place
and then pick back up in the morning I'm glad you said that cuz that led to the very next question somebody else to say. I just started and I'm about a month or so into it I still feel this need to get wherever I'm going even though my wife is sit back relax with her feet up on the how long did it take you to get to the point where hey I'm not worried about that anymore or you just like he went into this feeling go when we kind of gone through life and had your vacations here one or two weeks a year you get into that mode of like we got to get there real quick so we can do the bun stuff and then it's we got to get home real quick so we can get ready for work the next day or the next two days until that's kind of your mindset when you take off and you set out on this journey so we were moving every 5 to 10 days it was kind of crazy
work relax and experience and so then our work was suffering or we did the work and then we never saw anything in the town that we were staying in and so November of 2020 was the first time we stayed for a month somewhere and that's our sweet spot we feel like that gives us a really good balance of everything because you're not constantly doing something every day of your life so we couldn't be maintaining that momentum and it was hard for our son and things like that sell the one month helps us financially with discounted rates at campgrounds we spend less in RV gas and it balances out our lifestyle you should early on that your planners when you get into town do you like identify things that you'd like to do and then just kind of plan the days to go and do that and that might be 15 16 days of the month or the rest you do whatever how do you go about doing that
it actually berries I don't have a great science to it because a lot of our client work is also Alex Hart and so they tap in when they need us and some of that is unexpected but we do we usually have a bucket list item when we get to a new town Terraria of like five things that we absolutely don't want to leave without doing and the great part is with our lifestyle and the work that we do we can work on weekends so we trying to accomplish work on weekends and experienced during the week when it's a little bit slower and there's not as many people out the way we feel like sometimes we can check more often a day then we could on a maybe Saturday or Sunday because their times as much like that could you share how people to connect with you one more time and then I'm going to have to say goodbye cuz I have to move in
we're at Adventure Trinity Family on Instagram and YouTube as well as Facebook send a message we always answer we love to get to meet our community and we love to hear from you thank you so much for being on the show hey be safe be healthy have fun and look forward to possibly having you back next time and Spencer Adventure tuna family you definitely want to check them out what a great journey and Adventure that they're on I mean their whole life is an adventure because they're always experiencing a stop stick with
women be right back with more more expert advice for having a happier relationship with money still to come on the saving with Steve show
don't let your financial woes keep you up at night and prevents you from living a life of Financial and personal freedom hi I'm Steve Sexton post of the saving with Steve show where did he talk about the ins-and-outs of money those financial issues that could be costing me thousands of dollars causing stress keeping you up at night we're going to talk about money tax reduction saving more spending your investment risk management retirement and everything is so sweet with you having a healthier happy relationship with money soon as you've ever dreamed of living a life of Financial and personal freedom you owe it to yourself and your family to tune in to the saving with Steve show join me Steve section of the saving with Steve show as we talked about everything under the sun when it comes to money to learn more about the show visit saving with Steve. Us that saving with Steve. Us saving with Steve. Us will see you soon
welcome back to the show that is here to help you achieve your financial goals it's the saving with Steve show now here's your host Steve Sexton
hi welcome back to the show wasn't that great adventure Tutti family Christmas Spencer Stephens we didn't get to see their son KB will do that in the future you notice all butterfly flying in the background that you've got a wonderful deal Sophia ever thought about checking out my new motorhome and travel the United States kind of being that traveling Nomad in a luxury vehicle that would be wonderful
the next segment is all about how to plan retirement in the gig economy let's start thinking about this the first piece of information you need to know about 20% of the United States which is almost 57 million people currently participate in a gig work world that means freelancer self-employed this contract workers temp workers on comp Lloyd anybody with a side hustle there's a number people returning living outside traditional Full Employment and it's quite frankly is a huge portion they come in fact gigspot upwards some projections show that freelance workers will account for half of the US Workforce by 2023 in word 2021 so we can see a larger economy in January this year statistics published results from a survey conducted in 2018 that 27% of the full-time gig workers have no money saved for retirement
what are things that people get into they give you time because they like the flexibility and it's appealing but it does lag employer-sponsored 401K programs what you waiting in comes in fits and financial guidance to make long-term financial planning difficult but this doesn't have to be the case workers not awake it's all so horrible a certain benefits that you have might not be found my people have full-time employment you might be feeling far away from retirement because your freelancer but the reality is you can start preparing to do that now the first thing is how can I afford to save for retirement this is a big cousin we get we get our block so retirement planning should begin before you even get paid
whether you're a gig worker or full-time job assignment gold supplement your income retirement is expense and you have to consider that the key here is to build in your retirement savings as an expensive part of your gig work so think about this but you can live on you're going to have to calculating your health insurance your retirement contribution and your tax dollars an hour $30 an hour for your living expenses and say you work 20 hours a month you're setting aside say $10 per hour for retirement so that's $200 a month so the reality is you could set up a system
get paid for your job so as long as you know how much you going to keep after you Financial Obligations are done this way sitting doesn't feel like it's taking away from any of the money that you have your daily living let's think your employer if your employer you have to charge your client enough
so that you can cover your employee expense their Healthcare spent all those things and you're just doing the same thing okay hey what kind of account should I use no human resource department of Corporations savings auto-enrolment is part of somebody with big environment so you have to deliver to utilize an individual or traditional IRA where you can sure be $6,000 a year same thing for a Roth IRA but if you're making more you can also contribute year more by using a snap FireRed almost $17,000 if you're over 50 you can't even contribute more you can use a SEP IRA which allow you to contribute up to 25% of $10 a year for biting its 25% of your annual income
you can also look if you're making significant amounts over $200,000 you can look at defined-benefit plans for yourself where you can contribute is almost $100,000
but you can do this using your employment the end goal here is whether it's a certain amount of money to save a certain amount of time you want to work you can reverse-engineer
I need to say and you can put that on autopilot one of the things that we started doing a couple years into this savings was we said hey look was put aside so much money every single one and when it went into the account we automatically once a month and distribution went out to our Chef Ira individual 401K and or defined benefit plan so all you got to do is figure it out how much it is and set it out there what if your freelance job is temporary lot of people looking freelance work is a way where they can make some money until they find a new job but the key he resists continue your savings lot of people do a freelance gig and then go back and work for somebody and have to take three to six months before they can get back on a 401K there's nothing wrong with contribute to an IRA while you're doing a free landscape how can I catch up
Tracy haven't been saving this is us a couple years into being self-employed and back to some people might pass a couple years the realities you need to create a mindset where you have the ability to continue to put money or what you might have to save a little longer hate you want to retire at 62 you might have to stay so 65 cuz you didn't say before that's okay the key here is you want to take a look at your monthly income how much would you be able to save into that make sure that's budget into your expenses as part of the income he received and keep dropping that in there you know at the end of the year couple months before I take a look at where you're at how much money he even said can you contribute more to maximize it probably the smart a way to do that because the last thing you want to do is be in a situation where you're sitting too much and it's cutting into your living okay you don't want to be in a situation where it's going to cost you penalties or anything like that to withdraw money because you didn't because you saved too much in your
call Wendy so make sure it's comfortable the key here is this a lot of people don't think it's possible if you're self-employed or gig worker you just living paycheck-to-paycheck because you set up that so again it's really important if you look at making sure that you calculate your retirement your health insurance and taxes into your daily rate or your hourly rate make sure you cut a side that day at the $20 out of 50 make sure that set aside set up a direct deposit so you don't have to think about it goes every single month also look at doing that every single quarter at the end of the year so make sure you contribute as much as you possibly can don't overstay because that's like a bat died he wants to stop doing and it's over with and you need to continue to contribute to put yourself in a position to retire because retirement is a long-term accumulation of it now the more people create what they think the world needs the better but they need just to make sure they do it right
to help himself out if you're in a gig environment make sure that you're talkin with a financial advisor if you need help to figure out what you need in order to get yourself for your heart you want to stick with it we got one heck of a segment many people are re-evaluating the world and we're to be talking with Luke vanderveer who teaches people how to build a passive income by generating leads for local businesses and he's helping those people leave the corporate world so if you're looking to do that you want to stick with us Luke going to be right here in just two more expert advice for having a happier relationship with money still to come on the saving with Steve show
don't let your financial woes keep you up at night and prevent you from living a life of Financial and personal freedom hi I'm Steve Sexton post of the saving with Steve show where to be talking about the in an ounce of money does Financial issues that could be costing me thousands of dollars causing stress keeping you up at night we're going to talk about money tax reduction saving more spending your investment risk management retirement and everything is so sweet with you having a healthier happy relationship with money soon as you've ever dreamed of living a life of Financial and personal freedom you owe it to yourself and your family to tune in to the saving with Steve show join me Steve sex and out of saving with Steve show as we talked about everything under the sun when it comes to money to learn more about the show visit saving with Steve. Us that's saving with Steve. Us saving with Steve. Us will see you soon
welcome back to the show that is here to help you achieve your financial goals it's the saving with Steve show now here's your host Steve Sexton
welcome back to the same thing with Steve show me talk about the ins-and-outs of money we've got a wonderful singer for you your honor you or email if you were dead saving with Steve. Are you ask people and emailing all week about the segment with Luke Vander Meer has a website called rental coaching it's a wonderful business model that really what he does is he helps people build a passive income and they're basically generating leads for business is but what it really does is enables companies to leave the corporate world
control their own time they can do it anywhere in the world they want it's really taking back control and what are things that covid is taught us all is that the world is different nowadays and a lot of people just don't want to continue working for Corporation the old adage in the seventies I hate working for the man they don't want to do that anymore and then that's fine I want to welcome to Luke vanderveer teaches people how to build a passive income like I said and I just want to thank you for joining us Dale oh yeah thanks Steve I appreciate you having me on the Shelf great to be here I got to ask this and ask this of everybody since we haven't talked to you before cuz I know you have a corporate position before and then you change the shift tell us about your journey here
oh man I went to school for marketing and management and I thought that you do marketing is something creative that might be something I want to do but as soon as I jumped into the corporate world I feel like I gave it a fair shot I was there for a little while and just trying to absorb this and I just immediately started getting that feeling like I can't be sitting at a job like this for you know 45-50 years I started getting this feeling like it's just draining me and I'm waiting to get out of there at 5 p.m. so I could just raced home and do literally anything else and it's not a good feeling to have because I thought that was going to be something I'd be able to enjoy so I started looking for a way out of that almost instantly and so how did you come about doing what you're doing here I know you tried a few different things and you see a lot of Google it so I started looking up different I mean this is what everybody does the right so hot on Google so they looking up different business models you know I ended up trying
who sells on eBay and Amazon yeah I made some money with that will send you a lot of money but it wasn't enough to create time Freedom just sucked up a lot of my time I tried some multi-level marketing has building a team you had to like recruit people and sell products and I'm going to trainings all over the country flying all these different places to try to go to these conferences and learn how to build that type of model but that one you don't make as much and it just takes up all your time I could not find a balance with a business model that had money and time it was always one of the other until I found your a CEO and lead generation and that was the the ticket for me
I think people have all heard about SEO I don't think they completely understand that so let's talk about that that business model and I think it's called a rank and business models that right right yep okay so how does that work first you have to understand a little bit about us see how it's just basically taken a website and just moving up to the top of the search was because a lot of people think if you build a website and just put it out online it's automatically going to get some traffic and people find you but that's not true because there's so many businesses out there that you're just buried among the crowd so you have to do SEO or search engine optimization to move your website up to a spot where people see it otherwise nobody's able to find it and rank and rent is basically you building an ass sex where you're generating leads for particular Niche and then you essentially rent that spot at the top of
search results to a business owner that's local and that business owner then pays you to get the leaves so instead of working on their site and charging him a fee I own the asset and I rent it out to them almost like you would do with physical real estate if you owned a rental property so your landlord then right yeah landlord I don't know if you're real estate masonry is a good example that's a great one so basically he wants to do masonry and they don't know how to make that work and you what you've done is created a site where people go to you because they want masonry work exactly for the local area Sawtooth city do the site for that City and once it gets to the top of the results people are going to start calling me so I'll find a business that can handle those leads are you sending emails to those businesses at those masonry business hey I leave for you if you'd like to get them that type of thing there's lots of different ways to do it I think one of my
once is just sending some free leads in advance with our phone tracking system because the cool thing about the sights as once you build one you can actually have calls forwarded automatically so the customer calls in and you can have that phone number sent to anywhere you wanted to so I can connect it to a business and the customer nor the business have any idea it's just customer calls in the business picks up and that connection is done on the back end so I can actually put a message on it that says no call from Luke or you know this is a masonry call so they know what's coming next to go to one of the masonry company and send them a few leads and people got him what's going on and then you follow up with them a little bit later and say hey look you just received this free leads how do they work at exactly it it makes my life easier because I've never been a sales person that was always something that scared me so I was trying to find a way where I don't have to do that and the easiest way I found is simply provide
people with value in advance of charging anything you have the picture like what is the business owner normally get all day long they receive constant phone calls and emails and messages about all we can generate all this money for you but you have to pay I saw this all this money like thousands monthly or you have to do some contract with us for a year where then I come in and I'm just like hey I'll give you a free leads for two weeks so you can see that it's worth it I can prove that I can do this for you and then if they wanted to continue they can pay me if not I'll find somebody else
that's easier if you want leads you can pay me I know budget do-it-yourselfers and quite frankly they shouldn't be do it yourself first and you probably run into people like this as well but how do you get a website to show up on Google first page yeah there's a lot of stuff that goes into it. Like 200 some ranking factors to people all over the Internet are always promoting all kinds of different ones and I've got the secret really I think it comes down to three it's like the 80-20 rule the 80% is content citations and backlinks content is just having enough information to tell people all about the stuff you do the services you're providing and tell Google all the things that you can do so they make you show up for the right to work then citations is getting yourself listed in all the different directories and other websites that are out there like a citation is your name address and phone number on the web so it's like a profile on Facebook for example like your business page on Facebook
Yelp anywhere that has that information online Google can reference and say okay I see them there to know they must be doing something right we'll push these people hire cuz I've seen them listed in a few spots and then behind that is links you have to have other people linking to you it's like being the prom King in high school you have to have the cool kids voting for you and in this case the cool kids are other powerful websites that Google already trusts that are vouching for you when one of those websites is already trust in Google links to you that gives you some trust in you some and that's what pushes you up in the search results and then people see you and you start getting calls
that's wonderful you don't have to be sitting in the house to do this you could be on the road you could be traveling it's just once you get everything set up its really bad communication and upkeep so to speak yeah I mean I've seen people work from an iPad as long as you have an internet connection and you can type on some kind of screen you can run this business model you can truly do that that laptop lifestyle that people talk about where you're hanging out on the beach I don't know that I would technically Advocate that because he had to build it up a little bit first before you start just going all over the place but it's certainly possible with this model everybody you need to hang around with Luke here because he's giving us some great Pearls of Wisdom so stick with us we're going to be right back more expert advice for having a happier relationship with money still to come on the saving with Steve show
don't let your financial woes keep you up at night and prevent you from living a life of Financial and personal freedom hi I'm Steve Sexton post of the saving with Steve show where did he talk about the in an ounce of money those financial issues that could be costing me thousands of dollars causing stress keeping you up at night we're going to talk about money tax reduction saving more spending your investment risk management retirement and everything is so sweet with you having a healthier happy relationship with money so if you've ever dreamed of living a life of Financial and personal freedom you owe it to yourself and your family to tune in to the saving with Steve show join me Steve section of the saving with Steve show as we talked about everything under the sun when it comes to money to learn more about the show visit saving with Steve. Us that's saving with Steve. Us saving with Steve. Us will see you soon
welcome back to the show that is here to help you achieve your financial goals it's the saving with Steve show now here's your host Steve Sexton
hey welcome back to the shaving with Steve show where we talked about the ins-and-outs of money I truly thank you for tuning in appreciate you letting your friends family and Associates know about the show again all the roof laser available at sitting with Steve. You asked if you're enjoying the stories of helpful information inside of saving with Steve and I encourage you to subscribe to her Google Play Channel or Spotify channel so you never miss a show and check out a few of the UK help radio BBS radio talk radio New York City e360 TV Las Vegas TV network all these networks are dedicated to empowering life of financial personal freedoms hey you can follow us on Facebook at sitting with Steve Sexton you get another Financial tips guest-gift behind-the-scenes stuff you can see the crazy things I say to gas from time to time all fun stuff so thanks again for joining us we have Luke vanderveer he's been teaching people how to build a pass it in Boom by generating leads for local businesses biggest thing here is this
she's helping people change their Lifestyles if their net stuck down by corporate life not to say Corporal is bad but it's better if you can get paid more and have to do less work so or I can say less work but have more freedom so now when somebody's working full-time Loop
how does somebody go about building a side hoe because that's a big thing a lot of people there want to change but don't know how even though it might be super simple they just don't know how
right now you have to be able willing to give something up because there's always time even people with families and kids I've seen them build a huge income with only a few hours a week so it's what are you willing to give up if you want any of that freedom you have to be able to set aside some time whether it's lunch at your job like I used to do work at nights take a day on the weekend if you can dedicate it somewhere between five to 10 hours a week you can make a serious income with this type of model but you might have to give some stuff up maybe you can't go out drinking with the friends maybe you can't do Family Day on Saturday you can only do it on Sunday there's going to be a trade-off and if you are willing to do that then you can you do make that temporary sacrifice and get this so what you're really saying is this is like a compound effect so if you're dedicating 5 to 10 hours a week you can put you in a cell phone a position in say
couple months to where you're generating a significant income how long did it take you when you started doing this to get to a point where you're placed your corporate job yeah it took about six months to get rid of the corporate job and then another six months or so so that a year to hit a hundred K it's a pretty cool thing this business model because when you're generating this amount of leaves her business owner and when you're able to do this you can literally choose any Nash so you can pick some stuff that's a really really bad people and just generating few leaves could be worth a ton of money so the websites are generally renting out to a business anywhere from five hundred bucks a month to 5000 plus depending on the niche in the city that you generated it so a few websites could very realistically replace a 50 $60,000 a year job
the reality is if you pick a niche like yours is masonry for example you can pretty much going to pretty much every city and just start doing the things I do in the more things you keep up and the more you keep going you can build a significantly large income and in a position where you can make two or three or four or five times more than what you're making in your carpet get exactly a full-time job and you're still working you might not be able to do a ton of these maybe you can only do one that's okay get that one side up or run it out and now you have some extra money coming in and you can use that five hundred bucks thousand bucks a month whatever it is don't spend it on groceries reinvest that right into another side and start building out your network then you can start hiring virtual assistants and other people to help you and that's when you start scaling this is perfect let's talk a little bit about scaling can people hear that
all the time so when you talk about scaling you're doing it with virtual assistant you're almost traded his gigantic virtual environment or virtual business how do you go about that scaling Fortune right yeah it's trying to find ways to maximize my time and create a process that's really streamline so it's creating a basic website structure that we can follow having a basic content formula and process that we can follow and I'll basically record everything and then just trained virtual assistants on how to do each piece of the puzzle instead of me doing all the work I essentially become the project manager and I'm just going to say okay here we go. We're going to do this city the snitch go one person does the first piece passes it to the next guy who does the next piece and some of the stuff can be done at the same time so it's much more efficient way of doing it
Isaac so basically whatever portion of the website and whatever Bunnell you're creating you basically had three or four people put that together and then you're ready to say go and essentially what you're doing if they had got lead one two or three and then you're finding the business that you want to focus it on and then after that it's simple little phone call or you're just forwarding it to their phone number saying Hey you got this from Luke or you got this from whatever and they understand is coming from you and you're following me up after they've got a few leads and they're like wow this is great so what is your sales pitch I mean is it is it hi I'm the guy you just sent you 10 leaves are you interested you know it's it's funny I used to like write a write a script out that I tried to do but when you go reading a script that never comes out right so I have accepted the fact that you can't really do that I provided to the coaching students today and have some comfort with this and I give them
corded calls of meme calling different people so they could hear how I kind of wing it
but I don't really have a cell scrub to the main idea that I'm trying to get across is hey I'm just a normal guy I'm not some massive company you be working with me directly and I will prove to you in advance that I'm worth any amount that you could pay me so I'm going to send them some leads I'm going to make sure they get value and check in and then hey how did that lead go did you close that one off and then once we kind of build that relationship then it's just going to be Hey listen I can generate a lot more than I've been doing I just wanted to give you a taste of this but you know it's this something you want to continue do you want more leads like that and if the answer is no that's cool we can part friends if it's yes awesome man I'm going to crush this for you to put up some more sites that I'm going to jack up that lead but that's like the easiest sells good guy ever heard you talk to us about your coaching program is it called website rental coaching right
right about the process but somebody we going through what's the agenda for the training how long does it take and how is it coaching work all right so my short-term memory is terrible Steve so I'm going to try to remember all that covered all the coaching program is something I started a couple years ago to help people do this because I originally was working as an agency so I would reach out to the a client work for them but then I was getting calls at all hours of the night and day like a can you update this thing on my side hey can you do that so I'm not ranks and it was not fun being the you know the person I just didn't have any time so I started doing Rank and ready to take my time back and now with the coaching program and teaching people how to do the same text so when they join it they're learning how to create an LLC all the stuff they need to actually start a business like you got to get a business bank account you got to figure out what you're going to do with taxes
I'm connecting them with all the people that I use just for that since a lot of people don't even know any of that and then right into how to build a website how to write the content how to do the research and identify valuable know how you know it's going to make money how to get a website from invisible to top of each one so everybody sees it how to contact a business owners what do you say and how to make sure that payment is automated so you not having to reach out and ask them for money you want to see that auto debit from their account that just hits your account every month and you know that you have consistent money coming in so it's everything from end to end and all of the videos are set up with a screen share me just walking through it going step by step so we talked about the strategy first and they have a high level and then I go tactical this is specifically what you do click here do this type this to get the results and then on top of the course aspect we have a private coaching group with
it's from all over the world so you can that work with them ask questions people always sharing winds and what's going on in their businesses and then of course get answers to whatever you need on the spot and then on Tuesday nights at 7 we also have a coaching call and that one is so that's pretty cool we go through different trainings on new stuff coming out like new techniques and also sometimes just work through issues that people are having so other people can learn from it looks wonderful so how did people get a hold of you easy Estrellas go to website rental coaching.com that's actually the address for mini-season walk through this whole process that I've been talking about kind of see you know how people are doing with it how much you can make with it and the whole process from end to end and then if you if it turns out that something you want to do and you want some help doing it so you can get those results faster then it's an opportunity to apply to be a part of our program at the end of it so hey look everybody if you're interested in just trying to set up a
side hustle or get out of the corporate life it'll like consider going to a website rental coaching get in contact with Luke may become
