Digital marketer Mia McLeod created Digital-Collective.co in 2020. She realized that within her freelance network there was a wide variety of digital marketing skills. But after years of working on both agency and client side, many of her contacts were keen to work on their own terms. What if they could use their complementary skills to work together to help businesses improve their digital marketing?

With that in mind, Digital-Collective.co was born. Individually, they’ve got years of working for some of the largest content companies, digital businesses, advertising and marketing agencies and for some of the world’s leading and most exciting brands. Together, we’re a powerhouse of digital marketing collaboration who drive commercial results.

Mia is a global digital marketing executive with over 15 years of experience building businesses and running digital sales and marketing teams for international brands like Walt Disney, Microsoft, Sony Music and Universal Music where she has worked in both Sydney and London.

Remy prides herself on her ability to craft effective strategies that grow, engage and translate to the right type of digital audiences. She embodies the social media generation; she is super creative, tech-savvy, inspired, holistic and a little bit of an over-sharer!

Welcome to the show Mia and Remy, I’m so delighted to be embarking on this little creative social media journey with both of you. Over the next 4 shows we will be giving you a “teaser” into the wonderful components of this this course which will be officially launching in October. Remy – Id love to know more about you and how you got “into the business” of social media?

  1. Mia each week we are going to be talking a little more about the components of each module, without giving too much away, so let’s start with social media in general. Why do businesses and individuals need to be aware of the power of social media?

  2. Remy, you’ve grown up with social media, so it’s been part of your life, all your life. Recently I listened to an interested conversation on the generations, and their view of social media, technology etc. Generation X my generation is seen as the “bridging generation” we knew the world before the internet, social media and lots of the technology and we are rapidly learning about the digital world as it is now. Why is it important for my generation to have some level of understanding about all of these areas? Why do you think there are so many misunderstandings from the older generations around social media and technology, because for you its everyday life but for us it can be a real struggle to understand?

  3. Mia what components have you included in the course to facilitate ease of learning and retention of information? Video, worksheets, overview, BTG blueprint and timeline

  4. Remy what is social media strategy and why is it so important to understand?

  5. Mia when we talk about our ideal client what does that mean and why is it so important to have this understand at the start?

  6. Mia what on earth is a Jotform or a google form?

  7. Remy you are a creative and graphics are an important component of social media and branding for that matter. How important is it to clearing define things like brand colors and graphics?

  8. Mia lets talk about business vision mission, values and voice. Again how does knowing and documenting these elements of your business important to have as a starting point?

  9. Remy the course will be providing participants with social media set and digital logins just this component is a little daunting for many, how does the course aim to simplify the “techy” stuff for everyone?

  10. Mia next week the whole show will be on building a social brand – what on earth does that mean and what will we be talking about? Intro, Trello and comms tools, customization, best practices and social media specs, do followers matter, brand aesthetic and profile optimization.
