Pat Chaffee is a Dominican Sister. She has been active in human rights advocacy for thirty years. She visited the West Bank in 2006 and Gaza in 2009. In 2010 she participated in the aborted Gaza Freedom March, marooned in Cairo.  Her motive for joining the flotilla is to tell the people of Gaza that she is opposed to her country's oppression. She is committed to nonviolence, under any circumstances.

27 Years of International Activism

Her portfolio is comprised of impressive 27-years of activism, starting in Nicaragua in 1984.  Her most recent mission was intended to be sailing with the Second Freedom Flotilla to Gaza.  All participants in this human rights mission however, were prevented from leaving Athens, Greece, their planned city of departure.  S. Pat had first become familiar with the Palestinian situation in 2007 when she took the first of three trips to the region as a member of a Christian peace-making team.  She met and spoke with Palestinians and experienced first-hand “what it meant to be occupied.”

Dr. Paul Larudee spent 14 years in Arab countries as a student, teacher, Fulbright-Hays lecturer, and U.S. government advisor. He has been to Palestine many times since 1965, and is active with the International Solidarity Movement, a nonviolent resistance group. He is a co-founder of the Free Palestine Movement (FPM) and the Free Gaza Movement (FGM), whose boats broke a 41-year-old Israeli naval blockade of Gaza in August, 2008, and he was a member of the U.S. delegation aboard the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, which was attacked by Israeli forces on May 31, 2010.

Paul Larudee was born to an Iranian Presbyterian minister and his American missionary spouse in 1946 and grew up in the American Midwest. He has a Ph.D. in linguistics from Georgetown University and spent 14 years in Arab countries as a contracted U.S. government advisor, Fulbright-Hays exchange lecturer, teacher, training administrator and graduate student.

Paul has visited the Palestinian region many times since 1965, including four times with the International Solidarity Movement, a Palestinian-led movement that applies nonviolent principles to resist Israeli human rights violations. Paul was among seven ISM volunteers wounded by Israeli gunfire in April, 2002 in an otherwise nonviolent attempt to help Palestinian families. In 2006, he was held in Israeli detention for two weeks while unsuccessfully appealing a decision to deny him entry. He helped organize nonviolent resistance in Lebanon during the 2006 Israeli invasion. He is one of the founders of the Free Gaza Movement, whose boats, on August 23, 2008, became the first in 41 years to enter Gaza by sea, breaking the Israeli naval blockade. He is also a founder of the Free Palestine Movement, which also seeks to challenge Israel's blockade and denial of access to all of Palestine by sea, air and land.

Paul, a former student of Noam Chomsky, became a Professor of Linguistics himself and remains a good friend and colleague of Professor Chomsky. Working with the NorCal branch of the International Solidarity Movement, Paul is very much a believer in and practitioner of Gandhi's principles of non-violence. Paul was one of the 5 USA delegates aboard the Sfendoni, a ship of the Freedom flotilla attempting to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza.

When Israeli commandos boarded the Sfendoni in 2010, Paul non-violently resisted, refused to sign any papers without his lawyer and as a result the Israelis tased, tied-up, twisted his limbs, slammed his head into concrete repeatedly, and hit him with a flash bomb. Paul suffered multiple bruises, 2 black eyes, but refused to be treated by Israeli doctors as he did not trust them, especially since he suffers from Diabetes and needed special treatment and compatible medication. Paul was kept in prison for two days at Givon Prison, Ramle, Israel.

My mediumship for the Great Brotherhood of Light is relatively recent, so I can make no claim to possessing a natural gift of clairvoyance from childhood. During a particularly low point in my life I took some time off from my business in Asia to return to Honolulu, my hometown. I arrived in a bewildered state. Outwardly, I appeared content and successful to many of my old friends and relatives but inwardly something was gnawing at me. Two of my novels had just been published in Asia, but after the momentary thrill of being a published author, the feeling of discontent returned. Perhaps it had been precipitated by the breakup with a love partner and the death of my mother a few years before. Yet, after the grieving over these two events had run their course, the deep sense of dissatisfaction returned. It was clear that these traumatic emotional events had triggered within me a general malaise.

For over a decade, prior to his retirement, Dr. Monteith led a delegation of physicians from Santa Cruz County to the House of Delegates of the California Medical Association. For 10 years he led the battle within organized medicine in California to address the AIDS epidemic as a medical issue rather than a civil rights issue. As a result of his experiences trying to implement an effective medical approach to the HIV epidemic, he wrote the book, "AIDS:The Unnecessary Epidemic", the widely circulated pamphlet, "To Deceive a Nation", and more recently, "A Nation Deceived and Betrayed." Supported by physicians across our nation, his public health approach to the HIV epidemic was eventually accepted by the California Medical Association. Unfortunately, powerful forces continue to oppose the dictates of doctors. Dr. Monteith currently spends five hours daily on talk radio in California. He writes extensively, and lectures on geopolitics. He has spent 30 years researching the causes for America's spiritual and moral decline.

Dr. Jeff Kane is a philosopher whose work has focused on the intuitive and imaginative elements of human knowledge. David John Oates, an Australian aged 54 years, is the founder and developer of Reverse Speech technologies. He was the first person to ever document speech reversals in human speech in 1983 and has worked extensively since then on research and development, as well as maintaining a therapeutic and consulting practice.
