RADIO TONI with Toni Lontis
Guest, Jacqueline McLeod, health professional and clinician, studies tarot, astrology, spirituality, and alternative health
We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be deeply seen and known and when we honor the spiritual connection that grows from that offering with trust, respect, kindness and affection. Love is not something we give or get; it is something we nurture and grow. A connection that can only be cultivated between two people when it exists within each one of them. We can only love others as much as we love ourselves. Shame, blame, disrespect, betrayal and the withholding of affection damage the roots from which love grows. Love can only survive these injuries if they are acknowledged, healed and rare. Brene Brown
Our Guest today is the gorgeous Jacqueline McLeod and before I introduce her, let me tell you a little bit about her.
Jacqueline McLeod was a health professional and clinician until her lifelong passion for self-development led her to the studies of tarot, astrology, spirituality, and alternative health. Her life purpose is to assist in achieving a balanced society by empowering the feminine in both women and men. This has led to the publication of her book Feminine Masculine Balance which introduces a paradigm shift that is a pathway to a more peaceful, progressive and nourished society. She is continuing to teach and explore this paradigm shift through an online course, blogs and social media. With an ongoing interest in painting and creativity, Jacqueline owns a studio and teaching space overlooking a beautiful garden in Melbourne, Australia. Her greatest joys are two adult children and her grandchildren.
Good afternoon Jacqueline and welcome to Radio Toni
-
Lets start at the beginning and talk about your childhood and growing up – how did that shape who you are today?
-
During my childhood there were many patriarchal attitudes and comments being made constantly both in person, the media, films, advertising and so forth including using the word “man” representing all people. – as if women didn’t exist!
-
I studied Dentistry when most students were male. I had lots of fun but also had to tolerate prejudice and could tell you of many incidents which these days would be considered completely unacceptable and their effects accumulate over time.
-
However, I realised that, the masculine dominated society isn’t much good for men either. For example, my peers were in the ballot to fight in Viet Nam and I can assure you that none of them wanted to go off and kill people.
-
Something changed in 1990, what was that?
Since 1990, I have been interested in Astrology and Tarot. Astrology continues to offer me insights into who I am because it opens up an exciting and profound world of self-discovery. Through its abundance and complexity, it has helped me build self-knowledge and provide me with a graphic understanding of how we are all unique. Similarly, Tarot is an exciting practice which has supported me in my life journey and, along with Astrology, has provided me with a means of helping other people. However, underlying all that valuable complexity are the feminine and masculine polarities. They are also referred to as energies, attributes, qualities or principles. The terms can be used interchangeably.
-
What was your turning point in this journey?
My initial turning point towards developing Feminine Masculine Balance was when I was observing this table of feminine and masculine polarities and realised that, in our current society, feminine qualities are not valued and respected equally to the masculine.
AMEN to that discovery Jacqueline.
Feminine qualities such as intuition, emotion and imagination are just as important as masculine rationality, logic and analysis and therefore the feminine qualities need to be empowered to the same level as the masculine. The next turning point was when I realised that the polarities could be blended and I added the third centre column to the table. I want to stress that all these attributes can be expressed by any gender: women, men LGBTIQ+. This table became the basis of my book which is the introduction to Feminine Masculine Balance and the concept is still evolving.
-
This lead to your life purpose Jacqueline didn’t it? What is that purpose?
-
my life purpose of helping dismantle our masculine dominated society and replacing it with FMB. I believe that if we, and society, can shift our way of thinking to value the blend of feminine and masculine, we will be able to move towards resolving masculine dominated problems including violence, poverty, inequality and toxic relationships. I want to emphasise that any gender can be perpetrators.
-
What to you believe will become of this shift?
Big changes start with small shifts. The more we can begin to embrace the balance of the feminine and masculine, the closer we can feel calm and at peace within ourselves, creating more harmonious communities, and achieving a safer, healthier, more peaceful and abundant world for all.
-
How would you describe Feminine Masculine Balance?
-
What are the benefits of making the shift to Feminine Masculine Balance?
-
The FMB table is the basis of the book could you tell us more about it?
-
What is the difference between masculine and masculine dominated?
-
Can you tell us about the Symbols of FMB?
-
How does FMB describe violence and peaceful resolution of conflict?
-
What about Greed/ poverty
-
Finally lets touch on Inequality
Where can people but the book?
