Investing in a piece of artwork is a big decision. Your new painting is something you should LOVE. Tracie is passionate about ensuring that when you commission her to paint you an artwork, series of artworks of a large artwork project, that it becomes not only a statement, but a reflection of you. Something you can tell the story of. Something resonates with you or your brand. Something that is a part of your journey. Later in the show we will be unveiling the next stage of our commissioned artwork.
Welcome to the show Tracie, I’m so delighted to be embarking on this little creative journey with you. This week we are going to ne talking about all the “tools of the trade”
Welcome back to the show Tracie, I love out time together on the show and its such an enormous privilege to chat to you and explore the wonderful would of art.
-
Now this week we are talking about all the tools of your trade but before we do that, I want to highlight something that makes Tracie Eaton art divinely special and that’s Tracie’s ability to tap into the “soul” of a project or the art she is creating. When Tracie is creating something for an individual, company, a space or a specific project piece, Tracie taps into her intuition and it produces a uniqueness that leads to the exclusivity of Tracie’s artworks. Tracie did you always have this intuition around your painting, or has it developed over time?
-
Tools of the trade – lets start with brushes – what sorts are there, what makes them special and what’s your favorite brush?
-
What other items do you use to get the desired effect for you artwork? Palette knife, toothbrush, bubble wrap, cling wrap, fork, knife, catalyst wedge, finders, nails.
-
The type of paint or paint product you use is an important consideration. Available to every artist are watercolors, oils, acrylics and resin etc. You use some of these Tracie, but acrylics are your favorites, along with resin. Let’s discuss acrylics and why you love them.
-
The next element of many of your artworks is hand embellishment and when we were chatting pre show you were working with some beautiful feathers. I think your embellished work is some of my favorites. There are loads of things you can incorporate in to your work, what’s your favorite and why? What else do you regularly work with?
-
The audience might notice in the background of our show each week, which is filmed in Tracie’s actual studio – the is a magnificent blue dress – wearable art. I have been a fan of wearable art since my teenage years and watching the QLD fashion awards each year. The wonder of the creation of a piece of clothing into an artwork and this is another of Tracie’s, talents – wearable art. The Blue Oscar dress how challenging was that to create Tracie’s – can you walk us through the process….
-
The progress of the commissioned art work you are and co creating for the show…15 minutes at the end of each show we will show the progress so that the audience get to experience the wonder of creation…
