Cronkite Satellite is a one man band with a full band sound. He’s a well-rounded artist whose preferred medium is sound. Cronkite Satellite is not only an international live looping musician but he’s also a multi-instrumentalist, producer, sound engineer, filmmaker, visual artists, poet, graphic designer, educator and father. Long story short, Cronkite Satellite is a world traveller who spreads the power of music around the planet. He firmly believes that music is the language of the universe and hopes that one day, music will unite us all.
Description of song:
Detention is a song about viewing our mishaps as opportunities for growth, rather than seeing these situations as unforgivable failures. This song is sung from the perspective of a teacher using this brief moment to sit down with the student and encourage them to see outside of themselves. The teacher is not punishing or demonizing the student for their stumble. But rather, showing the pupil that everyone makes mistakes and by learning from these experiences, we can become the best version of ourselves and make the world a better place. Soon, the student will become the teacher and the younger generation will be behind the wheel. Hopefully these lessons learned through real life experiences will guide our flawed past towards a perfect tomorrow.
