NEW Music Heard Between Talk Shows! We'll Be Your Favorite!

Headlined Show, Breaking the Silence December 1, 2024

Breaking the Silence with host Dr. Gregory Williams

This week's Special Guest will be Marcia Peck. "Marica is the author of Water Music: A Cape Cod Story." She is an award-winning writer and has received many awards. Her articles have appeared in Musical America, Strad Magazine, Strings Magazine, and Senza Sordino. Her work has been supported by The Minnesota State Arts Board, The Loft Literary Center, Ragdale Foundation and Hambidge Center.

Guest, Marcia Peck's book, Water Music,

The bridge at Sagamore was closed when we got there that summer of 1956. We had to cross the canal at Buzzards Bay over the only other roadway that tethered Cape Cod to the mainland. Thus twelve-year-old Lily Grainger, while safe from ‘communists and the Pope’, finds her family suddenly adrift.

That was the summer the Andrea Doria sank, pilot whales stranded, and Lily’s father built a house he couldn't afford. Target practice on a nearby decommissioned Liberty Ship echoed not only the rancor in her parents' marriage, a rancor stoked by Lily’s competitive uncle, but also Lily’s troubles with her sister, her cousins, and especially with her mother.

In her increasingly desperate efforts to salvage her parents' marriage, Lily discovers betrayals beyond her understanding as well as the small ways in which people try to rescue each other. She draws on her music lessons and her love of Cape Cod—from Sagamore and Monomoy to Nauset Spit and Wellfleet Dunes, seeking safe passage from the limited world of her salt marsh to the larger, open ocean.

Friends,
President George Washington's “Thanksgiving Proclamation of 1789” was the first presidential proclamation of Thanksgiving in the United States. 🇺🇸 He called the new nation to stop and thank God for all they had come through and guidance for the future. Washington had so much to thank God for as he and the new fledgling United States of America looked back at all God had brought them through to become nation!
We have so much to be thankful for today-our families, homes, country and of course Gods love, gift of salvation and faithfulness in our lives!
This week our dear friends Dr. Marianne and Will Cintron will join our team- Dr. Paul Hall, Dr. Craig and Stef Thayer, Pastor Ron Greer,  and myself, to share thoughts on Thanksgiving from our lives!
Special family traditions, feeling Gods presence and more will be shared that will prayerfully encourage and strengthen us all!
We will, with you our “Raising Expectations Family” have a memory making and thankful time together!

Life Changes Show Guest, Ksenia Luki October 28, 2024
Los Angeles based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and a sound-healing practitioner

KSENIA LUKI

Ksenia is a Los Angeles based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and a sound-healing practitioner.

The love song between Ksenia and music has been a lifelong journey. She began singing when she was six years old, and was writing songs on her guitar and performing at local festivals by the time she was thirteen. After a while, Ksenia took a break from music and moved to the United States. There she committed herself to a path of spiritual growth and healing. She trained and became a yoga teacher, a Reiki Master, and a bodyworker.

Five years ago, Ksenia was inspired to approach music again from the perspective of her new path. Music became another instrument through which to channel healing and inspiration for all the people Ksenia teaches and works with. The influence of her commitment to a yogic lifestyle and her deep connection with healing work transformed her relationship with sound by integrating her spiritual path with the music.

Today her songs weave together all the aspects of her life and heritage, by blending mantras, icaros, prayers and Russian folk music for a truly unique and inspiring sound. In 2018 she released her first single, “Atman”, which was followed in 2019 by her first album. Ksenia’s music channels inspiration, hope, peace, and strength to guide and support people on their life journeys. She has redefined the use of sound and mixed vibrations in her intention to spread the healing power of musical prayer.
