Cathleen Carlson, President of Gemstar Records opened Record Label in 2012. Cathleen is also the President of Music To My Ears Publishing (ASCAP) started in 1995 with television and film placements including “Woman In Charge” placed in a television movie “Aah Roach” starring Barry Bostwick (Rocky Horror Picture Show movie) scheduled for late 2021 or 2022 release. Cathleen is currently working as A&R Representative for Artists listed in the Songwriters Guild Resource Book for Big Fish Music with Chuck Tennin which has the largest unpublished song catalog in the world. Cathleen helps Chuck with locating Investors and finding new talent as Music Publishing Director for Big Fish Music Group.
Currently co-wrote “We Are Standing In The Light” with Pepper MaShay to be released as a Dance song and hopefully entered into the Grammys by Pepper MaShay and a Gospel Album by Sister Jean McClain.
Cathy has been a Film/TV Co-Producer with Jeffrey Mallian as a Partner in their own company working on a Christian Country Film involving Curb Records who wanted to pick up the soundtrack. Cathy was invited to Michael Curb’s wedding at Disneyland in Anaheim by Michael’s wife.
Currently Cathleen is working with many music celebrities and communicates with them on a daily basis regarding Global Awareness, Music Education Concerts and TV Talent shows who work with major celebrities like Brittney Spears, Bonnie Raitt, Kenny G and many others with a huge database of over 500,000 contacts for only one contact alone.
Cathleen has located Award winning TV Producers for TV Shows and helped many Music Industry contacts further their fan base and their careers. Currently involved in locating investors for film documentary with music celebrity which Cathleen works closely with in liaison with John Epstein of Global Talent Agency. Cathleen currently is a New Mexico Volunteer for Global Songwriters in Nashville, TN and has a network of Music Industry professionals throughout the US and Globally including Ireland and England with direct contact to Radio shows. Cathy networks and works with Independent Radio Promotions including Stephen Foster in Muscle Shoals, AL where he also has a Radio show promoting Cathleen’s Artists and her song roosters.
Cathleen currently has a “Gemstars” Worldwide Podcast with Plastic EP of Australia reaching a valuable Australian fan base interviewing top Musicians from historic bands: The Ramones, Talking Heads, Joan Jett, The Beatles, The Monkees etc.

Cathy’s co-written songs “Desire” which Patrick Swayze danced to in HBO “Letters From A Killer” and “Daddy Tried” a female take-off of Merle Haggard’s “Momma Tried” was also in the HBO Movie. “My Lucky Stars and Stripes” a co-written song by Cathleen was featured on “GAC TV” Great American Country Music Television and Laura Bush sent a White House Letter to the “Dyers Daughter” Sister Trio Act who recorded the song in Nashville with a famous Nashville Producer stating that the song honored Veterans and was a patriotic song which was recognized by the White House and Laura Bush.
Cathy has also placed songs on NBC daytime dramas including “All My Children” and with the Lifetime Network and Oprah Winfrey’s TV network! Cathleen has worked with major Los Angeles Managers/Publishers including Bob Diamond of Midnight Music Management and Chuck Tennin of Big Fish Music Group with two songs going to The Moon with Big Fish Music Group and buried on the Moon with the Moon Lander, hopefully in December 2021!
Cathleen worked with Alan Roy Scott on Music Bridges worldwide Artist and Unisong Songwriter’s project for “Celtic Harmony” with major Recording Artists (Rodney Crowell, Jeff Healey, The Go Go’s, Delbert McClinton, The Hothouse Flowers etc.), Industry Labels, ASCAP, BMI and SESAC with IMRO (Irish Music Rights Organization, CEO Hugh Duffy). Televised a Dublin Concert in 1997 with Music Bridges.
Cathy aka “CC” toured with her identical twin sister Colleen with the 2nd Largest Concert Association in the world “Min-On” located in Tokyo, Japan as a backup Singer with the Route 66 Band in 1997. Min-On works with the United Nations with UNESCO promoting peace through the Arts and Music.
Cathleen also worked as a NSAI “Nashville Songwriters Association International” the 2nd largest for non-profit Songwriter Organization in the World and SGA (Songwriters Guild of America) with Aaron Mesa and Phil Swann, Music Industry Leaders and Educators as Event Producer/Promoter with the LA Times and other media. Organized Singer/Songwriter Showcases with NSAI, SGA, CCMA (California Country Music Association) in Los Angeles and Pasadena, CA.
Cathleen has placed other Songwriters songs in Film and TV projects as a song plugger and sent “All I Want for Christmas is You” CD’s out to US Troops in Iraq with non-profit for Veterans.
Cathleen has been a TV Co-Host for “The David Fuentes Show” where she arranged Talent Interviews for the show which aired on Buenavision TV Network with over 2 million Los Angeles to viewers and fans.
Cathleen also performed her songs on the tv show. She was also a Radio Co-Host with KCLA Radio in Los Angeles with “Country Music Then and Now” with co-hosts Skeeter Mann and Dusty Roads which Merle Haggard wanted to pick up on his radio show as a Radio segment. Cathleen interviewed: Tim McGraw, Johnny Paycheck, Billy Ray Cyrus, and many other famous Music Celebrities on the radio show.
