Why Am I So Happy with Paula Vail
Interviewing Mary Schaefer and then David Clarke
No one wants to feel dispensable or replaceable at work. Sometimes it feels like you are treated as an interchangeable part versus a human being. What would it be like to work in an organization that remembers you are human and in fact supports it? A number of organizations have created cultures that serve both the needs of human beings who happen to be employees and serve the bottom line. And there is a correlation between the two. How do we make this happen? This is something Mary Schaefer has dreamed of and worked for her entire career, and we'll talk about it today. Mary has a Master's degree in Human Resources and is certified as a human resources professional. She lives and teaches empowerment and how to have productive manager/ employee interactions. As a speaker, coach and trainer, she focuses on making the most of what people at work can contribute to an organization through their energy and creativity, while at the same time meeting their own specific needs for meaningful work. Mary calls herself a "Chief Encouragement Officer." In our discussion today we’ll talk about what it takes to revolutionize your workplace to be “pro-human.”
Author and Different Strokes for Different Folks radio show host David Clarke is a retired social worker, a recovered alcoholic, and recovered sex addict. He has poured his years of intense experiences into Ockham's Razor Revisited. He has also done so with his first novel, Shades of Gay.
David has found spirituality as a way to help fill the needs that could not be satisfied through his seeming addictions. He is committed to spreading a message of hope and faith to others which is what his radio show and books are all about. He is socially-minded and he wrote his books as a way to share the pain of addiction and hope and belief for recovery.
I love sharing a smile or compliment with others and being a positive energy in the world. I am so grateful for the guests and listeners I come in contact with everyday through my shows. I wish to be a beacon of hope, light and Inspiration in a harsh world. A place where others can tune in to embrace the positivity of others, leaving them feeling uplifted and loved.
