Gonna Be Fine,” the second single from Toby Ernest’s forthcoming album “Camino Real” is set for release on December 6, 2019
A Daytime Disco track soaked in dreamy pads, with a funky bass line and catchy chorus, "Gonna Be Fine" follows up Toby Ernest’s debut single “Rescue Me” which premiered on KCRW in September, followed by Toby’s feature on Kasper Bjørke’s “Water” and their cover of Alessi Brother’s 1975 classic “Seabird.”
“Gonna Be Fine,” including a remix by Turbotito is available here: https://soundcloud.com/tobyernest/sets/gonna-be-fine-single-package/s-dicCp
“Gonna Be Fine” was produced by Jacob Funch and mixed by Filip Nicolic aka Turbotito, and features a remix by Turbotito who lets his past as part of the duo Poolside unfold in his ode to Keni Burke. The remix is heavily inspired by Keni’s 1982 hit “Risin’ To The Top” and draws on the elegant Philadelphia Soul sound.
In “Gonna Be Fine,” listeners also get a glimpse into Toby’s world, as the lyrics revolve around feelings of alienation and not belonging, where comfort is sought through feverishly reminding himself, that everything is going to work out. A transplant to Los Angeles from his native Denmark, Ernest’s lyrics often include sly metaphors which are easily relatable.
“Gonna Be Fine” and “Rescue Me” are on Toby’s debut solo album “Camino Real”, which will be released in February 2020. Toby (nee Tobias Buch-Andersen) previously fronted the Late Great Fitzcarraldos.
