Mel Proctor has written his third book. The Little General Gene Mauch: A Baseball Life is a book about the fiery Mauch, who played Major League Baseball for 6 teams. Mauch went onto manage three teams, where he received the moniker Little General.

Massachusetts-born, Culver City, CA-raised Alexa Melo is only 20, but the singer-guitarist sounds like she’s been through the wars. And she has, in a manner. Signed to a major label as a precocious teen, Melo was passed from producer to producer to producer before finding a sonic ally in Christian James Hand (The Mowgli’s). Now “emancipated” from her label deal, Melo independently released her self-titled debut this June, and it’s a far cry from the straight-up pop her handlers envisioned when they signed her.

Jill Rege has been in been in the special needs parenting trenches for more than 14 years. She has three boys, currently ages 17, 11, and 8. Her oldest son recovered from autism through extensive therapy and use of biomedical and dietary interventions. Her mission is to help support and educate other families who choose alternative treatments for developmental delays, seeing it as optimizing a child’s potential through optimizing health. Her younger boys also have development delays and health issues, which she addresses through similar treatments and specialized diets.

Leo Anthony Gallagher was born at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He grew up in Lorain, Ohio until he was 9 years old. Because of his asthma he then moved to South Tampa, Florida, where he attended H.B. Plant High School. He graduated from the University of South Florida with a Chemical Engineering degree in 1970. He also received a minor in English Literature, which he used often in his skits to mock the language.
