People and experiences that have an impact on us are telling us a story. A story about ourselves and our lives. In order to understand what the story is revealing, we need to know what questions to ask.

How do we evolve as spiritual beings when we are addicted to the physical world?

If we are trapped in the dream of this Earthly dimension, how do we awake from the dream?

The process of awaking up from the "control matrix" of the mass media and corporate/governmental manipulations  is nothing less then activating our own spiritual "codes" which are embedded in our  DNA.   
The unused portions of our DNA that were previously hammered "off line" are currently reconnecting on the etheric level.   This is related to the rising level of energy on the planet and is reflected in the growing

Consciousness is generally defined as the ability to be aware of our own existence. Or, we can think of it as a tool used to create an inner reality that makes sense to us. The importance of attaining higher consciousness is regularly mentioned in connection with spiritual awakening and growth. As this awareness in the human mind grows and strengthens, life becomes more liberated, joyful, peaceful, and love-dominated. The fear which creates isolation and despair begins to diminish in thought and feeling. You are free to live the life you were born to live.
