Dr. Sarah Larsen on LIFEChanges With Filippo
"Hi! My name is Dr. Shahina (Sarah) Larsen. I am on a personal mission to assist you, friends, family, and patients on being healthy as humanly possible.
When I became pregnant I began learning everything I could on how to be the best mom possible. Of all of the things I had attempted and of all of the things I had accomplished, this was the thing I most wanted to excel at in my life.
I learned how to stimulate a baby inside the womb, safe and effective delivery methods, and what I could do to raise IQ. I delivered a healthy and vibrant baby girl without even a Tylenol. Two years later, I had a healthy baby boy.
Today, my children and I are learning to harness the bodies intelligence, emotional intelligence, and flexible and effective problem solving.
Today, I know traditional allopathic medicine, nontraditional energy treatments, and holistic naturopathic approaches to healing. Methods I recommend to my friends, family, and patients have been effective in releasing the diagnosis and prescribed medicines for headache, migraines, asthma, cough, sinus infections, skin rashes, high blood pressure, dizziness, diabetes, anxiety, insomnia, and chronic pain to name a few. I have helped many release weight permanently as well as allowed many to feel well after years of failure to thrive.
I have extensive knowledge on prenatal and post natal concerns. I assisted in approximately 300 births in India with no surgical intervention.
Why do I want you to be healthy as humanly possible?
Because, I am so grateful for the life I am able to live and I want to give back. I was born in Pakistan to my mother who married my father at 13 years old. Their marriage had been arranged since before she could walk.
My parents immigrated to the land of the free to educate my brothers, sister and me. Everyday I thank God, the universe, and them for that decision. Being an American allows me the ability to express myself and my full potential. I have been given so much and I just want to contribute in a deep and meaningful way to this beautiful planet.
My parents emphasized education from the very beginning. And I have been so supported in all academic pursuits. I began my journey in Medicine after discovering a love of Medicine as an undergraduate at Louisiana State University. Somehow, I got accepted into a college in the 4th best medical school in India, Kasturba Medical College.
I studied, volunteered, and worked in various capacities, which included conducting medical studies in clinics in India, Trinidad, Miami, Washington D.C., Atlanta, and rural cities in Louisiana.
I completed medical school at Medical University of the Americas, an off shore medical school that allowed me to work with some of the most prominent doctors in their field.
I believe almost every doctor enters the field because they wish to heal. Here in the US most medical students are taught years of pharmacology, with only months of anatomy and a few weeks of nutrition. The approach I learned in India focused on anatomy (two years of dissection alone), physiology and biochemistry, with a focus on nutrition and the bodies intelligence.
I have passed United States Medical Licensing Exams on the road to practice in the US and discovered I wish to heal outside of the traditional allopathic (western) scope. I prefer to use what I learned from my grandmother, my years of eastern and western training and healing, and my intuition.
Best Wishes to you on this journey as a Human!
