Born of Italian immigrant parents, Filippo was born and raised in beautiful Northern California, but for all intents and purposes it may have well been Southern Italy. Determined to keep the Italian culture alive in their children, his parents raised him in Italian social circles speaking Italian, eating Italian, drinking Italian, and listening to Italian music. In fact Filippo did not know that they weren’t living in Italy until he went to his first day of school and all the other children were speaking a language foreign to him, English.
Thus began Filippo’s first major “change,” in a life that was to be full of change and so much more. The entertainer side of him started around the same time. Before he could even remember, his parents would stand him up on top of the kitchen table to sing and entertain their guests. As the years progressed he incorporated into his family “shows,” everything from singing and playing instruments to magic tricks, jokes and storytelling, which were eventually to become the passions of his life.
As a young adult he focused on academia, attaining a Bachelor Degree from the University of California, San Diego in Engineering Management w/ emphasis on Computer Engineering. He was recruited by IBM, at the time, one of the top Fortune 5 companies in the world, and quickly excelled within corporate America garnering IBM’s top honors and eventually moving up into Jr. Management. Throughout his studies and professional career however, he always made time to pursue music and performance, his first love, with leading roles in Community Theater, operas and his own concerts.
Eventually his inborn love and talent for music won over and he left IBM. Soon after his first public performance in Los Angeles, The Burbank Leader Newspaper wrote - "… he's setting the world of music on fire. Filippo Voltaggio sizzles with high energy in his performances, personally, vocally, and musically, worthy of his ‘electric’ last name," and got a “Best Bet!” nod of approval for one of his concert from the New York Times.
What seems like a few short years later, he is now a twelve-time winner of the Sergio Franchi Vocal Competition, a three time NIAF grant recipient, an MAF Grant winner, a Eugene O'Neill Cabaret Symposium Fellow, a nominee for Entertainer of the Year by the Southern California Motion Picture Council and a winner of the Silver Bowl Award from the International Society of Poets for the lyrics to his title song on his last CD, “Love In Italiano.”
He and his music have appeared in many productions and films including the box-office hit, “A Walk in the Clouds,” “Noise,” “ Europa,” and “Surge of Power.”
In yet another change, Filippo turned his focus from live performances and recording songs to live radio and interviewing guests in a radio talk show called “Filippo and the Chef,” which aired on terrestrial radio weekly for two years in over 25 cities in the U.S. All the while Filippo was gaining interest in, and studying the field of energetic healing and became an Energetic Alchemist Master and Teacher, a Reiki Master and Teacher, a Theta Practitioner Healer, a Reconnective Healer, and an Ordained Minister.
Recently, incorporating all his loves, “changing,” singing, speaking, interviewing, healing arts, radio, etc., Filippo started “Life Changes With Filippo,” now one of the quickest growing radio shows on the Internet; about the changes going on in our bodies, our lives and our world. Surely a sign of the times, this show who’s time has come is the answer to the question, “What the bleep is going on?” According to Filippo, the answers are amongst us, and as host, he brings them out from guests, whether they be leaders, activistic celebrities, woo woo specialists, doctors, scientists, futurists and ordinary people who know things, or are doing extraordinary things.
Noteworthy interviews so far include Penny Marshall, Jack Canfield, Mariel Hemingway, Lisa Nichols, John DeMartini, Marcia Wieder, Kerli Koiv, Les Brown, Bob Proctor, Joe Vitale, Sheldon Nidle, David Wilcock, Shadoe Stevens, Barnet Bain, Marci Shimoff, Carushka, and many more.
After only a year on air, Filippo and the show have already received kudos including the President's Call To Service Award from President Barack Obama. Filippo is also listed in the Cambridge Book of Who’s Who.
Not only does Filippo love what he’s doing, it shows, and people are loving Filippo and what he’s doing too, and he loves them right back. How fiting to note that an interpretation of his name Filippo Voltaggio is "Love Voltage," the electricity of love…. We hope you feel it too!
Come and join the conversation about what's going on and what we can do together about it, with it, and for it. We have the choice, we have the power. We can do magic if we just believe!
A show about the changes going on in us, to us, around us, and because of us. Therefore, it's technically a show about "Everything," only with a how to make it better, see it better, be better.
In the show, there is talk about, and with, people who have either been through major changes, are helping others with major changes, or people who are changing the world for the better in a major way.
The show is a one-hour talk show format with a monologue by the host, a 30 minute interview with a guest of note, capped by a "Producer's Wrap" segment, in which Filippo and Co-Host Mark Laisure, and sometimes surprise guests, bring it all home for the listeners in a sometimes humorous and sometimes touching, but always entertaining conversation.
