With Guest, David Giordano, Spokesman for the John Birch Society and Senator Kevin Van Winkle

How to rein in out of control government growth, that is the question.  Some think the answer is a Convention of States to amend the Constitution.  But the John Birch Society says that’s the wrong solution and spokesman David Giordano explains why.  Plus Colorado lawmakers convene in a special session his weekend on property taxes.  Dems and RINO republicans are trying to sneak a tax steal through.  But grassroots conservative Sen. Kevin Van Winkle is fighting the good fight and he gives us his common sense plan.

Guest Biography

Sworn into the State Senate in June 2022, he is a small business owner in Highlands Ranch and a longtime advocate for free markets and the principles of liberty. Kevin was named the Senate’s 2023 Most Conservative member by the Liberty Scorecard.
In the State Senate, Kevin works to help our state government work for you, not over you.  He stays true to his values and is working to get Colorado back on track.

Kevin has earned “A” ratings from Principles of Liberty Colorado and the National Rifle Association during his short time at the capitol. He was also recognized by several publications, such as the Denver Post and Colorado Peak Politics, as an “extremely effective legislator” who “holds firm to conservative values.”
Kevin has deep roots in the community. It is often said that he grew up along with the area he currently represents and is truly proud to have started both his family and business in Douglas County.

In his free time, Kevin is a proud member of a local Ice Hockey team and gets outside as often as possible to enjoy Colorado’s many hiking trails and campgrounds. He and his wife, Kelly, are founding members of Crosspoint Community Church in nearby Centennial, Colorado, and proud parents.

Before his service as State Senator, Kevin served for 8 years as State Representative of HD-43. For two of those years he served as the Assistant Minority Leader. He was also a Ranking Member of the House Finance Committee and a member of the House Business Affairs & Labor Committee. Additionally, he sat on the esteemed Legislative Board of Ethics, was President of the Colorado Channel, and was a member of the Police Officers’ and Firefighters’ Pension Reform Commission.
