Friends, we look forward to having our guest, Teri Werner, Author, Transformational leader and Media Strategist with us this week on “Raising Expectations!”

Teri will be sharing insights and Biblical truths that will strengthen and encourage you!
*Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
In the words of Dr. Phil, “How's that working for you?”
Teri says, “When you look at the past few years, do you identify with the word train wreck?
How have you healed, and how is your heart feeling?” Her book “Train Wreck to Triumph” addresses many questions and how a vital relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ leads you down a road of growth and healing.
One example is forgiveness. What are the facts, how to forgive, and your choices and consequences? Also, transparently examining your train wreck, growing to forgiveness, and she beautifully shares that God will turn your derailment into destiny. He has the plans, remember?

We will have a good time together with Gods Word and the real, often devastating world we live!
Looking ahead to being together with you…

Don't forget to check out our guest's book: "Train Wreck to Triumph: Healing Guide and Journal Combined to Turn Your Derailments into Destiny"

Short description of "Train Wreck to Triumph: Healing Guide and Journal Combined to Turn Your Derailments into Destiny" from Amazon:

Turning Your Derailments Into Destiny!
I may not know your name or where you have been, but I do know one thing: I know you stand at your Intersection with Destiny, following an experience you call your Train Wreck.
I know about the pain you have walked through, released and moved on from…yet it still haunts you. I know of the thoughts that torment you in the early morning hours when the darkness penetrates everything you hold dear, and even the silence screams out. I know that you are in the best place you could be—the place of becoming FREE.
As I sit writing my final thoughts in this book for you, I know one thing. If you were the only person to read this book and follow the Coaching Journal experience…the only person who would find the value from the wholeness and healing so real it keeps you warm in places that still feel cold and painful—I would write this book just for you, and that is exactly what I did. This book is for YOU!

Words Women and Wisdom Show Guest, Amy Todisco April 22, 2025
Green Living Pioneer and Mentor, Advocate, Holistic and Sustainable Living Podcaster and organic farm owner

Amy is a Green Living Pioneer, Speaker, Author, Trusted Advisor in Holistic and Sustainable Living and Podcaster.

With over 30 years of experience in green living, holistic health, and sustainable practices, she guides eco-conscious, health-focused female entrepreneurs to detox their homes, bodies, and lives—without the overwhelm.

"I didn’t wait for a health crisis to begin detoxing my life—I was raised by a nutrition-savvy mom and a chef stepfather, who also gardened. That early exposure planted the seeds of awareness, but it wasn’t until I was pregnant with my daughter that everything changed. I picked up a book about non-toxic baby care from a health food store and was stunned to learn that many everyday products—shampoos, cleaners, even baby toys—were legally allowed to contain toxic chemicals. That was my wake-up call!

I dove deep into researching food systems, corporate deception, greenwashing, and environmental toxins—and I hasn’t stopped. For over 30 years, I’ve been on a mission to help others detox their food, homes, and lives so they can thrive without relying on pharmaceuticals. But this mission hasn’t come without its challenges."

From a childhood influenced by a nutrition-focused mom and a great aunt who cultivated her own food and made soap, my passion for eco-friendly living was ignited early. Her transformation began upon discovering the alarming presence of toxins in conventional food and household products, highlighting the scant protection offered to consumers.

As a seasoned advocate for environmental health and a leader in sustainable lifestyle education, Amy has dedicated her life to empowering women with the knowledge and tools needed for a vibrant, toxin-free lifestyle. Through her Green Living Now Podcast, transformative online programs like the Organic Food Blueprint, and the 5-Day Green Living Kickstart Challenge, to provide clear, actionable strategies to eliminate toxins, make confident organic food choices, and adopt holistic lifestyle changes.

Life Changes Show Guest, Seth Porter April 21, 2025
Artist, Singer, Songwriter

Seth Porter is a self-taught, genre-blending artist from Las Vegas whose journey started in the Mormon church. Raised on hymns, his early exposure to music was spiritual—but as he got older, he found himself drawn to something more rebellious. Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly became his biggest influences. During their rap beef, Porter didn’t pick sides—he studied both. But something about MGK stood out. It felt like the world was against him, and Porter related. At that time in his life, he felt like the world was against him too.

While he releases music under the name Seth Porter, he goes by Porter in everyday life.

At 14, Porter started writing obsessively—rhymes, poems, anything to process what he was feeling. A teacher recognized his raw talent and invited him to her classroom every day at lunch so he could avoid bullying. She didn’t just give him a safe space—she wrote with him, helped him make edits, sharpen his structure, and encouraged him to keep going. Porter credits his 9th grade English teacher as the biggest influence on his writing to this day.

That same year, he dropped his first track, Anxiety Demons. Like anything you do for the first time, it was horrible. The mix was non-existent—he recorded it on his phone over the sound of his laptop playing the beat in the background. The delivery was treacherous, and the songwriting was still finding itself. But it was honest—and putting it out into the world only amplified the hate. Already a target—he was 5’2″ for most of high school—Porter faced constant ridicule and regular encounters with physical abuse. But he didn’t back down. The more they laughed, the more he wrote. The more he wrote, the better he got.

At the same time, Porter was making waves in a completely different world—competitive debate. He joined the debate team and quickly rose through the ranks, eventually becoming the #1 ranked debater in the state. One tactic in debate is called “spreading”—delivering as many arguments as possible before time runs out so the opposing team can’t respond to them all. Porter mastered it. His teammates started calling him “Speedy”—a perfect nickname, since it played off his initials, SP, for Seth Porter. And it was through spreading that he learned to speak fast and clearly at an incredibly high pace—something he credits as the single greatest contributor to his development as a rapper.

Porter is a below-scratch golfer and played Division 1 in college. But behind the surface, he was battling something deeper. Diagnosed with OCD, he faced overwhelming mental health challenges—depression, anxiety, and years of high school bullying pushed him into a dark place. In college, it all boiled over. He attempted suicide and began misusing drugs. Eventually, his addiction forced him to leave school and he was admitted into a psychiatric unit.

When he was released, he saw two options: end it for good—or fight with everything he had to take his life back.

That’s when he met Ryan, president of Jewel Inc. and co-founder of the Inspiring Children Foundation, alongside Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Jewel. Ryan saw past the mental health conditions and recognized who Porter really was underneath it all. Through the love and structure of that community, Porter began to heal. Over time, he overcame OCD, anxiety, depression, self-harm, and suicidal ideation in a powerful and lasting way.

Recovery took many forms—meditation, sobriety, healthy eating, exercise—but most importantly, purpose. With Ryan’s guidance, Porter rebuilt from the ground up. And not only did he heal—he found a level of peace, presence, and happiness he never thought was possible.

As his health improved, so did his music. He dedicates a minimum of 10 full, focused hours a day to his craft. He writes dozens of songs per day. The only thing slowing him down is access to high-end studio time. Otherwise, he’d be recording at the same pace he’s creating. He credits his OCD for this ability to lock in—channeling hyperfocus into prolific, precise songwriting.

Porter doesn’t claim natural talent—he claims obsession. He’s never taken a lesson. No vocal coach, no formal training. Even music theory—he taught himself. Everything he’s built came from relentless repetition and love for the craft. He writes across all genres—rap, punk, country, pop. Over time, he’s developed a kind of creative antenna—so attuned that songs seem to write themselves as soon as they appear.

As a proud Vegas native, repping the city is core to his identity. He sees how much talent exists in Las Vegas—with a lack of real representation—and he’s determined to change that. Coming up, he’d battle rap on Fremont Street. As a young white kid, people didn’t expect much—but once he started spitting fast and clean, the reaction flipped. He earned his respect quickly.

He’s fully invested. Every dollar Porter earns outside of necessary expenses goes straight back into studio time. It’s all in or nothing.

And above all else—Porter knows he’ll succeed. Not because of luck. Not because of hype. But because he refuses to stop. He’s fully committed to becoming a professional artist without ever settling. He outworks everyone around him—and he’ll never quit.

After nine years of doing the work behind the scenes, Porter is finally stepping into the light. His debut single is on the way, followed by a wave of releases and a full album. For him, it was never about fame. It’s about doing the work, honoring the craft, and giving everything he’s got—every single day.
