Nick Maddox is a 1999 Watkins Award Honoree from Kannapolis North Carolina. He was one of the top running backs in the country who ultimately decided to attend Florida State and play football. Nick quickly learned he had to focus on his school work while marching towards and ultimately winning a National Championship as a freshman. He had to remain focus on school and football and eventually left Florida State for the NFL. After playing in the league for a few years, Nick decided to return to Tallahassee and become a community advocate and now is a County Commissioner.
