Paul V Jockimo is a veteran of over 35 years in the fire service. Formerly with the New York City Fire Department, he currently serves with the Westchester County (NY) Department of Emergency Services. In addition, he is the Coordinator of the Westchester-Putnam Peer Support Team and served as the Chief of the Somers (NY) Fire District. With 28 years of CISM, Peer Support and Line of Duty Death experience, he has had the honor of working with scores of agencies throughout North America. The subject of Bernard Wolf’s ground breaking 1974 book “Don’t Feel Sorry for Paul”, he brings his unique life experience and humor to all he does. He has been profiled in the books “American Firefighter” by Paul Mobley (2017) and “Duty, Honor, . . . Hope: Strategies for Understanding and Unpacking First Responder Grief” by Beth Hewett (2023).

Scott S. Powell, has been an entrepreneur for 30+ years, founding two companies. He has been a fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution and is currently senior fellow at Discovery Institute. Having been a frequent guest on national radio and TV, he has also published 250 articles in such publications as the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s Financial, New York Post, Philadelphia Inquirer, Washington Times, Chicago Tribune, Houston Chronicle, Dallas Morning News, San Francisco Chronicle, San Diego Union, Florida Sun Sentinel, USA Today and some two dozen other newspapers and journals in the U.S., Japan and Europe. He has been called on twice to provide expert witness testimony for the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.
His background has been shaped by the school of hard knocks. After working and saving, Scott took a leave of absence from undergraduate studies, back-packing around the world for several years to some 48 countries—chronicling poverty, oppression and dysfunction. After returning, he graduated from the University of Chicago (B.A. and M.A.) and received his Ph.D. from Boston University. This is his third book.

Monte Schulz
The late cartoonist Charles M. Schulz, son Monte pens his new novel, which he filled with robust characters, an unraveling mystery, mayhem, innocence and moral disintegration, Metropolis (Fantagraphics, August 23,2022) by Monte Schulz is a coming-of-age novel with a moral puzzle at its core. This dystopian tome is narrated by college senior Julian Brehm, who lives in a war-ravaged world perverted by eugenics where those who were deemed mentally, morally, or physically unfit were banished to desolate Provinces far from where he lives his uneventful life. Thrust into facing a broader reality by the woman he falls in love with, a bohemian revolutionary, Julian, and ultimately Monte, pushes readers to question ideals while giving them the hope of love.

Monte Schulz received his M.A. in American Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He published his first novel, Down by the River, in 1990 and spent the next twelve years writing a novel about the Jazz Age. Monte is also a composer, songwriter, and producer whose most recent album is titled “Seraphonium.” In 2010. Monte, is the eldest son of the late cartoonist Charles M.
