Scholar of Extremism and Radicalization, Author
Dr. Cynthia Miller-Idriss directs the Polarization and Extremism Research & Innovation Lab in the Center for University Excellence at the American University. Dr. Miller-Idriss is also a professor in the School of Public Affairs and in the School of Education. She has testified before the US Congress and regularly briefs policy, security, education and intelligence agencies in the US, the United Nations and other countries on trends in domestic violent extremism and strategies for prevention and disengagement.
Dr. Miller-Idriss is an award-winning author of the book, "HATE IN THE HOMELAND: The New Global Far Right."
First Due Firefighter at NY Telephone Fire and Deputy Assistant Chief of the FDNY Fire Academy
Dan Noonan, who was first due on 3 Truck to this deadly fire, has been a tireless advocate for awareness of occupational cancer and toxic exposure in the fire service, in particular the cancers and deaths sustained by many of the 699 FDNY members who fought this fire.
He is a featured Speaker at FDIC, Firehouse World and Firehouse Expo. Dan is an Awareness Ambassador for the New York Cancer Resource Alliance - First Responder, "Get Checked Now!" Program, and Campaigner for F.A.C.E. S (Firefighters Against Cancer and Exposures.)
Frank Leeb is a Deputy Assistant Chief in the Fire Department of New York and is the Acting Chief of Training. Frank has been a member of the FDNY since 1992, and holds a bachelor's degree in Fire Service Administration and a Master’s in Security Studies.
To honor the sacrifices made by these firefighters, Chief Frank LEEB has overseen FDNY’s plan to host a special ceremony, courtesy of the Fire Bell Club, and to install commemorative plaques at the Telephone Company building and at the FDNY Fire Academy.

Karen received her Masters’ Degree in Social Work from Columbia University and has worked in the areas of family therapy, eldercare and PTSD.

As a performer, she has toured the country in musical comedies, entertained on cruise ships and appeared in television and film. Her broadcast experience includes turns as a classical music radio announcer, news-caster, voice-over artist and of course, talk radio host. She lends her operatic voice to a variety of fundraisers and community events and has sung the National Anthem and God Bless America in numerous venues from State Legislatures to the New Jersey Nets.
Karen has trained people of all ages in public speaking, voice and diction, assertiveness and interpersonal communication. She taught communications at a Manhattan corporate training firm, the New School for Social Research, Parsons School of Design in New York, New Jersey’s Montclair State College, and Fairleigh Dickenson University, among others.
In politics, Karen has written numerous editorials and run for public office. She is passionate about freedom, equal justice and personal responsibility. You might have trouble pigeonholing her.
She enjoys encouraging people to think for themselves and to question everything.
Karen is the author of the awarding winning memoir, FATLASH! Food Police & the Fear of Thin, a memoir about her "stage mother on steroids" and her participation in child beauty pageants.

He practiced in Michigan for ten years before taking his family on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to work and live in Auckland, New Zealand for several years. He has been in Denver for the past 15 years after returning from his academic retina position down under. Denver was a great fit for his family after New Zealand given the opportunity for outdoor adventure and sports.
