February 24, 2009:  Matthew Stein

Matt Stein's book:  When Technology Fails--A Manual for Self-Reliance, Sustainability, and Surviving the Long Emergency, is your bible for survival! Not only does it contain a listing of the potential problems, problem spots, and projections of outcomes, but it also has WHAT TO DO if you are faced with such things!

Join us as we discuss some of the important things that could save our life in an emergency (such as hurricane Katrina, major earthquakes, and nuclear attacks). This is probably not going to be one of those light, feel-good shows, so if you are in a depressed mood, Dr.Valerie suggests you tune out tonight and catch it on the archives when you are feeling more hopeful.

On the other hand, Matt has lots of suggestions that could give you Hope, tonight!

Matthew Stein is the author of the highly praised book When Technology Fails (Chelsea Green 2008) a comprehensive manual on sustainable living skills.

As the owner of Stein Design & Construction, he has built hurricane resistant, energy efficient and environmentally friendly homes.  The mechanical engineering side of his firm specializes in product design and development.
