An e-health and e-wellness pioneer, author, speaker,educator, and wellness visionary, Strohecker has focused on bringing fundamental wellness principles from the world's great healing and spiritual traditions into mainstream cultural awareness for over 35 years. CEO of WellPeople, his passion is exploring the essence of human wellbeing and working to stimulate the emergence of a global "Culture of Wellbeing".

Drawing upon over four decades of experience in the fields of human potential, wellness, spirituality and holistic health, he has been a leader in the wellness revolution via coaching, training, publishing and e-Wellness.

Jim was co-creator of HealthWorld Online (https://healthy.net/), the world's first major online network for alternative health and wellness launched in early 1996. He is co-creator of the Wellness Inventory, a whole person wellbeing program (https://www.wellpeople.com/), and the highly regarded Wellness Inventory Coach Certification Training (https://www.wellpeople.com/WP/WellnessCertificationTraining.aspx). The Wellness Inventory program has been utilized in universities, corporations, hospitals, the military, world class spas and by over 500 wellness coaches. Professionals from over 35 countries have completed the certification training.

As founding Vice-President of Future Medicine Publishing, he served as Executive Editor of the classic and influential, Alternative Medicine: The Definitive Guide (over 600,000 copies in print). Co-author of five books, including Natural Healing for Depression: Solutions from the World's Great Health Traditions and Practitioners (Perigee), he has collaborated on or contributed to over 15 titles in the fields of natural health, human potential, meditation, yoga and world spiritual traditions. He is the creator and publisher of Healthy Update, a weekly e-newsletter on wellness and integrative health in its 24th year.

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in cultural anthropology, his interests have taken him from National Geographic-funded archeological expeditions to Mayan ruins in the jungles of Yucatan, to three years of intensive study of yoga and meditation in India. 

Jim has served on numerous boards, including the President's Advisory Council for Bastyr University, the Board of Trustees of the American University of Complementary Medicine and the Institute of Natural Medicine, and the advisory boards of Nourish America, Dove Health Alliance, the Academy for Guided Imagery, National Workforce Health Economics Summit, the National Wellness, Prevention and Fitness Conference, and the Wellness Council of South Africa.

Jim has been a keynote speaker, presenter, and moderated or served on numerous panels at professional conferences.
In 2016 he received the Circle of Leadership Award from the National Wellness Institute for outstanding contributions to the field of wellness. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Nancy.
