Why do people find so many excuses NOT to be their very best? Answer, they don't think they can.
Have you ever read Marianne Williamson's piece "Our Deepest Fear" before? If you haven't, please read it now. It is short, yet very powerful. I believe it calls for us to look within ourselves to face our fears and be our best. Not the easiest thing in the world to do. And makes most of us very uncomfortable.
We ARE all meant to shine. Not some of us. Not some select individuals. Not some special people. Not people that you look at in the papers and say, "Well sure, it's easy for them." I mean, how do you think THEY got to where they are? It's in ALL of us, we just forget. Or, we don't want to look, too much work, too much effort or, we feel we are not equipped.
Thing is, all of us are on the list to SHINE. That's how, and why, we were created. To shine and share our special gifts with the world. That's how we make the world a better place, by sharing our gifts.
So you need to ask yourself, are you? Are you shining? Are you sharing your gifts? And if the answer is no, the question is, why not?
It's easy to come up with excuses as to why you can't. You're not smart enough, you don't have enough money, you're not prepared...the list goes on and on. The thing is, no one is ready. No one is prepared and certainly no one ever seems to have enough money. You just start from where you are and go, and give it all you got as they say!
And as Marianne Williamson reminds us, when you shine, you inspire others to shine as well. And really, isn't that what life is about, or should be about, helping others shine and do their best!
