Words Women and Wisdom Show Guest, Tobie Spears July 06, 2021
Founder & Executive Director

Tobie Spears is the Founder & Executive Director of Guatemalan Humanitarian Tours based in Utah where 90% of their volunteers, sponsors, and constituents are female. They help children, teens, and adults reach their full potential with early nutrition and continued education. Apart from running her nonprofit, Tobie stays busy working as a birth and postpartum doula as well. Tobie is also one of Utah Business 2020's Women of the Year honorees. "I grew up with a single mom, living on welfare. My mom taught us to think of others. We did the 12 days of xmas for families in our neighborhood that were struggling emotionally or financially. We took food to the homeless shelter. I remember putting together a coat drive in our jr. high and realizing that we could make a bigger impact working together.

At Guatemalan Humanitarian Tours, we help Guatemalan children, teens, and their parents reach their full potential with early nutrition and education."

"Our service vacations help companies, families, and individuals give back while having a blast and remembering what really matters.

Our nutrition program is providing 1000+ meals a month and a volunteer-led bilingual preschool in a remote Guatemalan community. Our community is working together to fight childhood malnutrition, one child, at a time.

While in Guatemala we volunteer in our preschool, prepare meals for local children, volunteer in orphanages and schools, take a horseback ride up a volcano, install wood-burning stoves and water filters for local families, explore Mayan ruins, deliver hundreds of pounds of donations, and shop fabulous markets. We travel on a private bus with a trusted driver, stay in local hotels, and eat delicious traditionally prepared meals. We work hard and have a blast!

Please reach out if you would like to join us or support us through sponsorship/donations."

Thank you!

The Watkins Award Guest, Drew Davis July 05, 2021
Retired NFL Director of Player Development UCLA

Drew Davis is a 2007 Watkins Award Recipient.  He was the nation's top receiver from Montbello High School in Denver, Colorado.  Drew chose the Oregon Ducks over a lot of schools to get his education and play football.  His final season ended with an opportunity to play for the Atlanta Falcons.  Drew's determination eventually got him a job in the NFL.  He played a few good years and an injury made Drew decide his passion for football would be pursued by helping others to make the successful transition from high school to college to the real world.  Drew is currently the Director of Player Development for UCLA.

Chuck and Julie Show Guest, Ted Harvey July 02, 2021
Retired Colorado State Senator

Ted Harvey is a former state legislator from Colorado. In 2001, Harvey was elected to the Colorado House of Representatives as a Republican, representing the 43rd House District. Elected in 2006 to the Colorado Senate, he represented Senate District 30, which encompasses Northern Douglas County—Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Parker, and Roxborough Park. He was also one of Colorado's delegates to the 2020 Republican National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Now chairman on the Committee to Defeat the President

Retired Colorado State Senator Ted Harvey has always had a passion for protecting the Constitution and the unborn, while promoting the free-market principle which have resulted in America’s unmatched exceptionalism. At the age of 22, Ted received a political appointment to serve in the White House of President Ronald Reagan, which ignited his passion for traditional conservatism.

After returning home, Ted quickly became involved in Colorado politics, working as a staffer in the Colorado State House and then as the Program Director of the Independence Institute, a Denver-based think tank. Ted also served as the District Office Manager for Representative Joel Hefley (R-CO).

In December 2001, through a vacancy election, Ted was elected to the Colorado House of Representatives and became a conservative champion inside the State House. He was re-elected in both 2002 and 2004, and then elected to the Colorado State Senate in 2006 and 2010.

The Sports Doctor Guest, Cynthia Dougherty June 30, 2021
PhD, CEO/ Mastermind Performance Coach, Author, Cannabis advocate, TED Speaker

What is your first thought when you are faced with an unexpected change or obstacle in your Life? Do you feel frazzled and anxious often? We hold ourselves to unrealistic standards of perfection and then we judge ourselves when we don’t live up to them. But we are not supposed to be perfect. Let's get you back to calm. Turning feelings into words can help us process and overcome adversity.

Perfection is not possible. But TRANSFORMATION is. All of us have the capacity to change, learn and grow. No matter what the circumstances. Your mindset shapes your YOUR brain. When it comes to your business, you and your employees’ ability to adjust to change, no matter how big or small, will affect your business, productivity and your bottom line.

I have over 25 years of experience combining Mindfulness, Positive Psychology and Resilience Training into effective Mind Tools to help individuals and corporations Thrive and Survive our unpredictable world. I have developed the concept of “MindPowerment" to establish a life of living in a grounded state so you become your own “rock” – having the steady foundation you need to not only survive but thrive in life and business.

To facilitate #MindPowerment, I offer grounding practices and training to both individuals and corporations to assist in:

• Managing work and achieving goals, while maintaining Life Balance, Focus, Clarity and Joy.

• Unblocking, Recharging and Revitalizing your mindset.

• Mindset Training, understanding your brain, how to process and handle your actions and reactions.

• Rewiring your brain for success.

• Empower your corporation by building a collective resilience.

Author of “Lost, Found, & Rewired: Mind Tools that Shift You From Stressed and Frazzled to Calm and Vital” I educate people on how the brain works and how you can get it to work for you.
