A current Assistant Professor of Nursing at Xavier University, Dr. Kelly Bohnhoff is being acknowledged by the American Health Council for 31 years within the healthcare industry, with 8 years in her present role. Possessing expertise in Forensic Nursing, Nursing Education, Interprofessional Collaborative Practice, Population Health, and Trauma Therapy, the AHC is appointing Dr. Bohnhoff among the numerous professionals who continue to revolutionize American healthcare.

Dr. Bohnhoff graduated with her PhD in Psychological Foundations of Education: Community Health Nursing from the University of New Mexico-Albuquerque in 1997. She has spent 6 years as Adjunct Faculty at Xavier University, 2 years as an Assistant-Tenure Track and 6 years with clinical experience as a Marriage and Family Therapist, as well as a Nationally Certified Trauma Practitioner providing therapy through Lighthouse Youth and Family Services, where she works with severely traumatized children, adolescents, and families.

Becoming involved in her current profession due to the influence of early childhood experiences, Dr. Bohnhoff’s daily responsibilities consist of balancing her time between teaching graduate students in the MSN-Forensic Nursing, Dual Degree-MSN and Criminal Justice (MSN/MSCJ), MSN Direct Entry as a Second Degree: Midas, and Doctor of Nursing Practice in Population of Health Leadership programs.

Among her myriad of accomplishments, Dr. Bohnhoff is honored to be a co-founder of Josephine’s Clinic, a coalition of local professionals who volunteer their time and expertise in order to provide interprofessional, compassionate, holistic, trauma-informed, medical care and counseling services to victims of human trafficking and violence in the local community. She has been given the Wheeler Award from Xavier University in 2016. Dr. Bohnhoff attributes her immense success to her willingness to remain open-minded throughout her career.

Dr. Bohnhoff is professionally associated with the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN), the American Nurses Association (ANA), the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT), and the National League for Nursing (NLN). Her charitable organizations include Josephine’s Clinic, Women of Alabaster, Tamar’s Place: Franciscan Ministries, Inc., and the RIGHTS Task Force, among others.

Concerning the future, Dr. Bohnhoff’s goals within the next 5 years include becoming tenured as a professor at Xavier and leveraging her training, education, and professional experience in interprofessional collaborative practice, forensic nursing, and population health, continuing to provide for children and adults exposed to trauma and human trafficking.

In her spare time, Dr. Bohnhoff enjoys reading and watching movies.

Jason Palamara is a U.S. Navy Veteran and a retired New York City Police Department Cold Case Homicide Detective with twenty- years of experience in forensic and criminal investigations. Jason has served as a peer support counselor with the NYPD and is the director of Veteran & First Responder Engagement for Forge VFR.  Jason is currently writing a book on police wellness and resilience with Barbara Rubel.

Jason Vanderground joined HAVEN as President in April 2021. In his role, he provides overall strategic, client and staff leadership for the firm, working alongside Bill McKendry, Founder and Chief Creative Officer.

HAVEN is the lead agency for the He Gets Us Campaign, providing overall management as well as strategic and creative direction. Jason and Bill have a professional relationship that spans nearly 25 years. Jason previously spent 10 years, from 1997 to 2007, working for Bill McKendry at Hanon McKendry, a ground-breaking firm out of Grand Rapids, which grew to be one of the largest marketing firms in Michigan. While there, Jason served as the lead consultant for the firm’s issue, cause and non-profit clients.

Following this role, Jason’s career took him to marketing leadership positions at Spectrum Health, a top healthcare system; Steelcase, the leading global furniture maker; and Irwin Seating, the leading maker of fixed seating. During that same period, he also earned an MBA from Western Michigan University. Jason brings to all his work and the He Gets Us campaign vast expertise in brand and marketing communication strategy, implementation and management for many national and global brands.

Rich Wyatt moved to Colorado in 1981 to attend Gunsmithing School. Rich has 22 years in law enforcement and 25 years experience in firearms training, retiring as Chief of Police in Alma, Colorado. Rich first attended Jeff Coopers Orange Gunsite Ranch in 1987 and after instructing with Col. Jeff Cooper for several years was certified as one of only six Master Instructors by the Col. Rich is also certified by the NRA the P.O.S.T. board and the FBI. He is certified by most major manufactures of firearms as an armorer. He has taught thousands of students in both law enforcement and the private sector. He also had the honor of traveling and hunting Africa with Col. Jeff Cooper. Rich is also the host of Spike TV's Don't be a Victim series Practical Tactical.
